Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi recently reacted to filmmaker David Dhawan’s comment suggesting that success had changed his demeanour after the massive response to Dhurandhar The Revenge. The actor addressed the remark during an interview with ETimes and maintained that fame and box office success have not altered his personality.
Rakesh Bedi, who received appreciation for his role in the Dhurandhar franchise, said he has seen several phases in the industry and does not allow either success or failure to affect him deeply.
Responding to David Dhawan’s observation, Rakesh said, “I don’t think too much about who has changed and who hasn’t. People change, and that’s okay. I know who I am. I have seen many ups and downs in my life. Like every actor, I have also gone through phases when I had no work and was sitting idle.”
The actor further added, “In fact, I have seen even tougher days than that. But none of it affects me much. Whether life goes downhill or things go well, I try to remain the same. I don’t let success or failure change me.”
Speaking about David’s comment regarding his “walk” changing after success, Rakesh clarified that he still considers himself unchanged despite the attention around the film franchise. “Recently, David Dhawan said in one of his interviews, ‘Rakesh ki toh chaal badal gayi hai’. Even if someone says that my walk has changed, I honestly feel I am still the same person,” he shared.
Earlier, while speaking to Bollywood Hungama, David Dhawan had praised Rakesh Bedi’s journey in the film industry and called him a deserving actor who finally received wider recognition. Recalling their long friendship, David said, “You can see the spark and the way he now walks. ‘Yaar teri chaal change ho gayi, hamari baat hoti rehti hai.’”
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar and its sequel Dhurandhar The Revenge emerged as major box office successes worldwide. The franchise featured actors including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi in key roles.
Rakesh Bedi will next appear in David Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai alongside Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur.
