Major reason is people s taste have changed and they won't stand for mediocre films anymore. Additionally they have become more cautious in spending money.

Even though we have these factors which is to be considered, good films will always work and the content has to be improved.

Bollywood is investing all the production money on buying remake and remix rights, Actors Sets and PR sometimes on pathetic VFX instead of investing it on the crew

spend money to get good story and script writers good music directors and singers

Stories of movies are so boring

We had tons of biopic and all were boring so flopped. A story like World Cup winning also boring. Lsc is a serious movie with boring story. There are some action movies they are south copy paste with no redeeming quality. There is not even one good song in the shittiest of movies.

On contrary the hit movies -bb2 was fun. Tkf had a story with suspense with good story and acting. Rrr was fun, pushpa had hit songs. Bw is not even able to make a good masala.movie, where is the hit song? The gorgeous actress? The great location? It's boring nothing to root about.

Bollywood was never known for quality otherwise khans wouldnt have been what the are/were. Indian audience have always been emotional fools and suppprted bollywood despite cast,creed,region or religion. They never actually cared about their talent or lack thereof Esther. Despite such unconditional love, when bollywoode Turned around and started attacking their faith, culture and way of living through their movies and calling them intolerant and other things through relentless PR at the slighest objection , it created división and mistrust among the movie going audience. Every movie nowdays peddles some sorta propaganda against someone or something deliberately and kabir khan has accepted of such bollywood practices publicly.

The innocence with which bollywood used to make movies and audience used to suport them is lost forever. It has lost the respect in the eyes of the audience , the bond is broken permanently and it shows in the attitude of both sides.
