we all are introspecting much more than the film industry, they are happily playing victim or in ignorance

i watched that anurag kashyap interview, he has talked lot and sense but nothing he seems to implement, whats the point

he will work in ak vs ak type show, dobaara is remake, pairs with kjo, made that big budget nonsense and then he has contempt for what he calls mindless movies (rrr types)

intellectual or commercial eash one is in his own world

the ones who are not wont preach, nitesh tiwari, balki, shoojit etc

I kind of agree on westernisation. I saw people uncomfortable with premarital sex and kissing scenes between Aamir and Bebo in a remote village shown in Punjab in LSC. It seemed unrealistic that unmarried couple of different faiths would be living together and sleep with each other in rural Punjab of mid 2000s!

On TKF it is clear that no film except Shikara had ever taken issue of KPs on big screen before so audience was curious and saw it. Also whole BJP brass promoted it online and some made it tax free and news channels held debates on it, gave prime time space to its cast. It ended up doing well despite sad theme and no big stars. KP exodus has never been shown onscreen earlier. Novelty and curiosity drew people.

Honestly, a someone who can and is able to sign a film like Highway right after their debut film like SOTY is definitely privileged in my eyes and also extremely lucky.

I dont have a personal problem with Alia, lol. I just find her personality annoying. She is a decent actress but nothing great what her mentor has made her out to be.

and I mentioned this earlier also, I have no issues with producer and director camaraderie with an actor, it has happened before and it will happen in future too. There is literally nothing wrong in that as long as they both are benefitted out of it.

When movies like Thugs of Hindustan and Zero flopped I said because they are bad movies but lately there has been an obvious boycott campaign against Bollywood in general and suddenly every major actor especially the Khans are anti india and "hinduphobic".

Its not really about the quality of the movies and instead its more about punishing Bollywood because they don't pander to the far right enough. Very concerning
