Kabir was in denial in the beginning and vandalized the wedding but he didn't chase her afterwards, did he? Then, he just lost the plot and drank himself to near death.

Devdas really annoys me ... self-imposed helplessness annoys me. At least the girl was able to leave her husband and go back to the guy she loved in Kabir Singh ... that was a little progressive compared to the usual "oh, I'm now someone else's" crap. Devdas didn't even let Paro have that option cuz he was busy throwing a pity party for himself at a brothel everyday and wanted the whole world to burn with him.

Lol he dint want whole world to die . He wanted everyone to live a good life. It was Paro's decision to get married. Unlike KS, Devdas always respected Paro's choice. He was sad and depressed . He never interfered in Paro's life neither went back to his family . If Paro wanted to come back she shouldn't have got married

I like people who go to the ends of the earth to make things happen if they want it bad enough ... not someone who mopes around and guilt-trips the other party after they fail.

I agree that Paro should have never gotten married to that old landlord .... I forget the details but didn't she give Dev a deadline before committing to the other guy? I forget what the rush was to get married then but why didn't he make things happen after her ultimatum? Why did he show up on the day of her wedding? He had a shot but he missed it. In fact, he created his own lost opportunities not just once but in multiple instances ... mostly cuz of his temper tantrums and ego issues.

To put it in today's context, if a girl dumps her boyfriend and marries someone else, and the boyfriend commits suicide after months of moping around, would that not damn the girl to a lifetime of guilt and regret? Especially when the girl most likely still loves him? Hitting and slapping is physical abuse and of course revolting but emotional abuse is still abuse all the same and can leave bigger scars no one can see.

So ... Kabir wins on that account too ... cuz at least he's alive. If I was Paro, I don't think I'd be able to live with myself after Dev breathes his last in front of the mansion.... they really need to come up with a sequel for Devdas where they revive him back to life. 😆

YESSS! How was that romantic? He got some kind of pleasure out of disrespecting her and causing her pain. When he hurts her later it is a calculated decision he makes with the sole reason to hurt her and ruin her pride and beauty. It was gross

Both were asswipes in their own right. However, Kabir Singh in real life would be a fcuking nightmare to deal with. The most Devdas could do is poetry-me-to-death with his lyrical dialogues. He’ll huff and puff when his ego is hurt but then will run away to lick his wounds in a brothel. Okay that sounds pretty fcuked up 🤣.

BUT that still sounds more tolerable than having a Kabir Singh just barge into your classroom, grabbing your hand and roaring ‘GIRL MINE’ while he gorilla thumps his chest. At least with Devdas, I got to know him for like 10 years before we took the next extreme step (lighting the diya for a decade and linking it to his lifeline). Meanwhile, Kabir laid a claim after seeing me for like 10 seconds. Too fast buddy. 🙂

Yes, both characters were emotionally and physically abusive, however Kabir came across way more aggressive and violent. I mean for heaven sake, he chased after the housemaid because she broke a glass (something my mother would do to me with a slipper in her hand 🥴). Kabir also slapped Preeti because he was angry at her father. So what’s next? He plannin on hitting her when the postman pisses him off the next day? Imagine living with a person who has poor impulse control and serious anger management issues. 😳

Devdas ruined his and Paro’s life with his self destructive behaviour. Meanwhile, Kabir is not only set on risking his own life, but also shamelessly jeopardises his patients lives by operating on them while he is intoxicated. I’m sorry but nah. You wanna drink yourself to death? Be my guest, but don’t mess with innocent lives who put their trust and faith in you to help them live longer. 🙃
