'Haath pakda, apni taraf kheecha': Shilpa Shinde reacts to backlash over alleged FAKE FIR against producer

Actor Shilpa Shinde has addressed the growing criticism surrounding her recent remarks about the FIR she filed against Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain producer Sanjay Kohli. The controversy intensified after the actor stated during a conversation with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa that the complaint was linked to a contractual dispute and that she felt she had no other option at the time.

Days after her comments sparked debate online, Shilpa shared a video on Instagram explaining her position. In the clip, she questioned the narratives being circulated about the case and urged people to examine the contents of the FIR before drawing conclusions.

Referring to the discussion around the matter, she said many people had focused on the difficulties allegedly faced by Kohli and his family over the last nine years. However, she argued that her experience should also be part of the conversation.

“Lekin un logon ne mere sath kya kiya ye bhi unlogon ko bolna padega, kyunki tit for tat hota hai,” she said in the video.

Shilpa further maintained that the details mentioned in her FIR should not be ignored. Citing a portion of the complaint, she said, “Ussmein maine saaf saaf shabdon mein likha hai ki unhone mera haath pakda mujhe apni taraf kheecha… Kisi ke maai ke laal mein himmat nahi hai woh karne ki.”

In the caption accompanying the video, the actor criticised what she described as misinformation surrounding the case. “KEEP DOING YOUR JOB PR but Stop spreading false narratives about the case,” she wrote. She also shared a definition of sexual harassment and argued that unwanted physical contact and other unwelcome behaviour fall within its scope. The post concluded with the phrase, “Jaago grahak jaago.”

The issue has triggered strong reactions from members of the entertainment industry. Actors Pooja Bedi and Hina Khan have publicly criticised Shilpa's statements. Meanwhile, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) released a statement calling her admission a matter of concern for the television and film industry.
