Farhan Akhtar, Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor offer condolences at Pahlaj Nihalani's prayer meet

The prayer meet of veteran filmmaker and former CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani was held in Mumbai on June 6. Several members of the film and television industry came together to offer condolences and stand with the bereaved family during the difficult time.

A video from the gathering showed many well known faces arriving to pay their respects. Among those seen at the prayer meet were Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor, Hema Malini, filmmaker David Dhawan, Chunky Panday, Farhan Akhtar and wife Shibani Dandekar, Govinda, Rajpal Yadav, Kritika Kamra, Gaurav Kapur and former film producer Pahlaj Nihalani's industry colleagues.

Anupam Kher was among the first celebrities spotted at the venue. The actor arrived to pay tribute to the late filmmaker and spent time with family members present at the gathering. Soon after, Anil Kapoor was also seen arriving to offer his condolences.

Veteran actress and politician Hema Malini attended the prayer meet and joined members of the film fraternity in remembering Nihalani's contribution to Indian cinema. Director David Dhawan was also present at the event. He was followed by actor Chunky Panday, who came to pay his respects.

Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar arrived together and were seen interacting with those present at the venue. Govinda, who shared a long professional association with Nihalani through films such as Aankhen, Shola Aur Shabnam and Ilzaam, also attended the prayer meet and offered condolences to the family.

Actor Rajpal Yadav was among the attendees who gathered to honour the late producer's memory. Television and film actress Kritika Kamra and television host Gaurav Kapur were also spotted at the venue.

Pahlaj Nihalani was a prominent producer known for backing several commercial Hindi films across decades. He also served as the chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification. His passing has left many in the film industry mourning the loss of a long standing industry figure.

The prayer meet witnessed the presence of friends, colleagues and well wishers who came together to remember Nihalani and support his family during their time of grief.
