sonu nigam 👎🏼 bakwas award
I am happy actually. Ek Tukda Dhoop is a brilliant song and Raghav sang it so well. Arijit is a superstar and No award needs to justify that. Ek Tukda Dhoop was my last year's most favourite composition as well.
This is what I wrote about this song
A part of me is too willing to simply disregard the hurt that this song is supposed to carry. Because somehow, to me, it feels the exact opposite. Like that place of comfort, of solace, like the warmth of chai in spine-chilling winters when your fingers curl around the cup – truly, ek tukda dhoop, if you will. Yet every time this song comes on, I ask myself why or how can I not see the obvious lost sense of longing that it carries. Why am I drawn to it for something that it is not. Am I staying with it for the wrong reasons? And then, almost like an epiphany, it dawns upon me – isn’t that what this song is exactly about? Of misplaced belonging. I simply smile at the juxtaposition.
And this song, despite saying what it does, always makes it easier:
" Tum humare jitne the Sach kaho, kya utne the Jaane do, mat kaho, kitne the "
Because it knows both when to listen and more importantly, when not to.
