Plus, I didn’t fancy Raj with his glasses on. I started accepting him when he began to resemble Rohit more with the scruffy stubble. I guess even at 8 years of age, I still liked my men with a bit more hair on their face 😎.

But yes. I rather think I resembled Tiger more than Amisha when I was beholding Hrithik’s fine self. 🤣

It's so unfair that the hardworking orphaned poor boy got murdered and screwed out of everything and the rich boy got it all - including the big performance and his little brother. If only Raj wasn't so likable.😆

Yeah I agree.

But the movie's collection aside, the kind of frenzy which the theatre-going audience exhibited was one-of-a-kind.

I think War rekindled the frenzy all over again. Hrithik's entry scene itself was enough to get the masses drooling!

Now let's see what Fighter has in store. Hrithik and Deepika in the same frame will be nothing short of legendary.

I’m giving context. Hrithik from his first film made one of the biggest hits ever. I don’t if that was done before or has been done since

Damn almost sounds like nepotism being depicted in a movie. 😆

That was part of the reason why I couldn’t move on from Rohit. I felt so so bad for him. Also since the first half of the movie focused on their love story, I had already established a connection with them. But yes, Raj was likeable and hot so I couldn’t complain much by the end 🥴.

Not done since but before:

Kumar Gaurav Love Story (1981) - his only hit.

Rishi Kapoor in Bobby (1973)

Both HGOTY and produced and or directed by their fathers

That's because of that rare quality of his, when he comes on screen you can't look away❤️

That intangible star quality...not everyone has it...Salman, Hrithik, Akshay, Deepika and Aishwarya come to mind!

Everyone loved Rohit but everyone was awestruck by Raj...and the 2 characters evoked different emotions, so the film worked amazingly as a whole!😆

It was a stroke of genius by Rakesh Roshan to make the 2 characters both so desirable in their own ways.

Rakesh wanted them to be look a likes. Hrithik as per his 2020 Film Companion interview had to convince him that Raj should be clean shaven and wear glasses (the then stereotype of geeks). He did it by inviting friends, mostly girls home to have "casual" discussions about the look of the character as soon as Rakesh walked in the room. 😆

So it was Hrithik's brain at work there?

Quite impressive, I must say.

I always felt Hrithik goes very deep into the look and feel of his characters. Part of his perfectionist nature, I guess.

I read his Instagram post about his inspiration for Dhoom 2 character. Quoting directly:

"I was inspired by 3 actors for this role . Bruce Willis , Pierce Brosnan and Mr Bachchan for his pauses. I kinda threw them into a mixer and out came Aryan .

I think a bit of Aryan will live on forever inside me ."

It came out in January 2000. So I was still 5 when this came out. Bas itna yaad hai ki gaane har jagah baja karte the iske. And older girls around me were crazy about HR and his two thumbs.
