Salman Khan Moves To Court Seeking STAY On 'Kala Hiran' Film, Alleges Identity Misuse

The Kala Hiran: Battle for Legacy controversy has now escalated into a legal battle after Bollywood actor Salman Khan reportedly approached the Delhi High Court seeking an immediate halt on the film. The actor has requested the court to stop its production, promotion and release, claiming that the project uses aspects connected to his personal identity without consent.

As per a report by India Today, Salman’s petition states that the film appears to be inspired by the 1998 blackbuck poaching case that has been linked to him for years. He has also raised objections to the early promotional material, saying it creates a direct or indirect connection to his persona. One of the key concerns mentioned is the use of a character or lookalike who reportedly wears a bracelet similar to his trademark style, which he believes is an attempt to commercially benefit from his image.

The issue gained attention after the makers released the film’s first look poster, followed by a promotional video shortly after. In his plea, Salman has argued that even if the makers deny any connection, the visuals and marketing material strongly suggest otherwise. He has also stated that such content could influence public perception at a time when related legal matters are still under consideration.

The petition has been filed against producer Amit Jani, Jani Firefox Films, Akshay Pandey and other associated parties. Salman has asked the court to restrain them from continuing any form of production activity, publicity campaigns, distribution or release of the film.

This legal move comes after his team had already issued a notice earlier, demanding that the filmmakers stop the project and remove all promotional content linked to it.

Meanwhile, producer Amit Jani has rejected all allegations. He has maintained that the film is not based on Salman Khan and is not a biopic. He also said the story is inspired by publicly available information and focuses on wildlife protection efforts associated with the Bishnoi community rather than any individual.
