Arre please don't delete posts like this that support and try to understand other characters too, apart from the leads. There was no problem with the language or anything, just difference of opinions, which I think is allowed in a free forum & free country.
I'm going to post some unpopular opinions here. I think viewers can critique a CHARACTER, and my views below are strictly ONLY on the characters, not the actors.
@ lopli - I agree with what you've said mostly because I find Kuhu the most relatable in this show.
She perfectly reflects reality & I find her endearing and like her very much for being so very true to herself about what she feels, be it resentment or dislike towards anyone. There are many girls out there who seemingly have a perfect life, but lack the needed support from family in treating them equally, on par with the other children.
Maheshwaris are to be blamed as they never fuss over her EMOTIONAL SENSIBILITIES like badi maa does with mishti. Bade papa gives space & importance to mishti & treats her as having a distinct identity & a distinct person, addressing her MENTAL MATURITY always. He doesn't do it with Kuhu. BP & BM both fuss over mishti to not make her feel left out, & in the process end up giving lesser and lesser significance to Kuhu.
Example - rishta & kunal came for kuhu & meenu asked mishti's hand. This has happened in real life & no family will go ahead with the kunal-mishti alliance, considering how horrible the daughter in Kuhu's posution would feel. Girls are not dolls - ek nahi toh dusra sahi.
But maheshwaris never thought about how wrong the RJv family is, for any of their girls, & never thought about kuhu - maybe just 1 scene that too after deciding that they'll go ahead with mish-kunal ! All because bm was paranoid about mishti's father causing trouble in mishti's life.
This would have been the case for many other things too in mah house. When everything since childhood has been done taking into account mishti first, it's natural for resentment & hate to arise. Sibling rivalry is very common & here they aren't even siblings. So more will be the dislike. I totally understand where kuhu comes from.
This is why Varsha looks out for Kuhu and Varsha also has reservations against mishti for the same reason. Varsha ki bhi many times nahi chalti in front of badi maa as they are dil & mil ! Hence she wants her daughter to be given more importance & feels Kuhu should not become collateral damage due to mishti. Which is exactly what happened in some sense as Kunal lied to her & married her as he disliked mishti.
If bp-bm had treated kuhu as an important, distinct person all along from childhood, they could have told her "resham ko aag se door rakha jata hai" & all & dissuaded her from marrying kunal. But her emotional maturity hasn't been addressed at all by the family.
She wanted to feel important as family didn't make her feel so, but Kunal made her feel so. So she just went in headlong with the marriage even when bade papa asked/warned her once. Her heartbreak & difficulties are in part due to her lack of deep thinking, which is entirely due to maheshwaris not addressing her emotions & sensitivities from childhood.
She's bound to feel the resentment towards mishti, who is not blood-related but gets more space and special treatment from bm & bp, who aren't bad but are not able to balance differing interests which is so needed as head of the family!
They needed to have really treated all children EQUALLY in all respects - but they treated mishti specially as she's not their blood, and kuhu ordinarily as she's their apni & expected her to understand.
But absolute equal treatment is easier said than done as bp-bm are also humans, & their actions have somewhere led to the muhboli taunt for mishti. It's human nature to go wrong here or there in parenting like bp-bm & it's human nature to differentiate between one's own and others.
Not everyone in mah house can be expected to put others / others' children before self like bp-bm can. This is why step families are very difficult for everyone involved. Why, even our own "saga" family is not always rosy.
Nobody is bad here. Kuhu included. If it wasn't mishti's fault that her dad is bad, then it isn't Kuhu's fault for having the human emotion of resentment. She can't help it & family has to see where they went wrong.
Kuhu's recent heightened dislike towards mishti is not without any reason or sudden as few others say. It is a cumulative effect of what has happened all along.
She sometimes helps mishti as she's not inherently evil. But her insecurities take over at other times & that's what makes her likeable to watch. Her stand is very valid & one can easily understand where kuhu is coming from if one looks at the POV of other characters too (my humble 2 cents).
( unlike mishti who put not only her own but also others' sensibilities & lives at jeopardy due to her own confusion. If abir was not in danger, she wouldn't have felt something wrong & would have married nishant. She even said so. And then it would've proved detrimental to not only herself, nishant & abir, but also would have eventually torn down bade papa-ma's peace as they would never see her & nishant being happy as a couple in love, thus putting to waste all their efforts in giving her confidence & apnapan. She said to kunal while breaking mish-kun goddhana that bade papa & ma gave her strength to be herself & it'll be an insult to them if she didn't take a stand for herself. She now contradicted herself & did not take the stand until she was sure that abir was in danger. Well since mishti is the female lead, she finally gets to redeem herself by empowering dialogues & through her love for abir. Kuhu does not get this chance & becomes scapegoat )
