Oh God they have ruined Shruti as a character and a person now

OG Shru was a young pretty photographer girl who lost her parents and was Anuj’s fiancé who lived with him and Aadhya in KM. She was great friend of Anuj and really loved Aadhya and Anuj. She even cared for Upmaa as a friend and was a fan of her as Joshiben. Not saying Upmaa is an angel or anything but Shruti wasn’t some torturer of Upmaa at all as she now claims in present. She was a decent person who liked Spice and Chutney’s food. She didn’t cross boundaries, Upmaa did. Upmaa cane to live in Kapadia house in name of mothering a kid who openly hated her and barely spent any time with her and wasn’t even her biological kid. I don’t care about who Aadhya was but Shruti was a selfless kind and good person. She was willing to step aside way earlier but Upmaa wanted to play a pick me while keeping three men wrapped around her finger at the same time: Vanraj, Anuj and Yashdeep. However both Anuj and Upmaa went forward in name of sacrificing love for Aadhya when wise ones know she had no love for Anuj at all. They chose to emotionally cheat while pretending to be single. Then Shru was obviously fed up. Spice and Chutney fiasco was caused by one who put cockroach in biryani and also by servers and top chefs who failed to see the cockroach at all. Severe neglect on part of owners including Upmaa. Shruti just added fuel to fire. However she finally admitted seeing UpNuj still having feelings and her being done with that. She apologised and got them to confess. She told them she was still a close friend and still loved Aadhya and she ain’t going anywhere. However by the time she could do anything, Aadhya ran away from home TWICE.

The current character just has the name of Shruti. Actress does look like an older version of Sukriti but hairstyle and personality have taken a 360. She is now the Amrikan mummy who doesn’t really care about Aadhya at all now, not genuinely at least. She has become cartoonishly obsessive and possessive. She is still not over Anuj and is in love with him till now to the point of keeping Vat Savitri Vrat for a dead man who never even married her and openly loved someone else and broke off their engagement. That’s an Upmaa thing to do. She would be keeping Vat Savitri for all her ex husbands at the same time even if they have new wives or GFs or love someone else. Also she seems to be more obsessed with Upmaa than Anuj or Raahi. As for this mother of the year, she would personally arrange multiple chefs for this big order and not let Raahi work alone on this large order. She won’t even let Prem shout at her or fire her like that in front of everyone in spite of her flaws. She made Raahi the owner of the cafe yet the chef who took an unregistered leave has the audacity to fire the owner? LOL. Prem was being verbally abusive to her daughter and she took his side. Moti Baa calls her out for her medical problems and mother India does nothing. This isn’t OG Shruti or even Maya at all. This is a typical vamp mom with no nuance at all. She is Noyna from Kyunki but nerfed. Even if she is hardened as a person, she would still love her daughter like Rakhi loved Kinjal so selflessly in spite of her flaws. She won’t let Prem or Moti Baa bully her. She might loathe Upmaa with passion but she would love her daughter. Hate what writers have done to her just to show Upmaa as mahaan. Now she looks more like Prem’s rich snooty aunty than Rahi’s adopted mommy.

Sukriti and Aurra actually managed to breathe life into "Old Shruti" and Aadhya, which is a miracle given the garbage script they were handed. Let’s revisit the show's toxic history: "Badi Upmaa" concocted a pathetic lie about visiting Kapadia House in the US "for Shruti’s sake." Truly, what self-respecting woman would stand by and tolerate her fiancé shamelessly romancing his ex - wife under the pathetic shield of "doing it for Aadhya"? Even if Old Shruti confessed to shutting down Spice & Chutney out of insecurity — the literal biological hazard zone where Badi Upmaa served her signature "Undhiyo Cockroach Biryani" — shutting it down wasn't a crime; it was a public health service. Yet, the writers, who clearly have zero respect for the audience's IQ, bent over backward to paint the hypocritical Badi Upmaa as a saintly victim while demonizing Shruti. Aadhya should have abandoned #ApMaAn — a biological curse disguised as parents — and walked away with Old Shruti. Now, rumor has it that Samiksha’s "New Shruti" is allegedly behind the rejection of Phaltu Prem’s restaurant licence. New Shruti keeps parroting that she wants to invest in Phaltu Prem’s restaurant because she "tasted his food," yet she conveniently forgot when or where this mythical culinary experience took place. It’s the same recycled, brainless writing trap. The writers possess exactly one trick pony: to force-feed greatness down Badi Upmaa's throat, they must systematically demonize every single female character around her.
