I finally had the chance to catch up on last week's episodes and I completely flabbergasted at how they are setting up this second marriage storyline. It seems to be at the expense of all these characters being willfully clueless, or just st*pid?
Fingerprint
Are to really believe that Noor didn't wipe that blood off her finger -- that's the first thing any person does! Or are we to believe that she is just sooooo caught-up in the announcing Shayra and Azaans wedding that she forgets she has blood on her finger. (side note -- who even holds a paper like that?) and what...no one else ever looked at that announcement paper (sorry forgot what it was called) again? highly doubt that
Mehndi
Are we really to believe that Noor never once looked at the palm of her hand? That Yasmin or Raziya never looked at her mehndi to compliment it? I look at the palm of my hand 20 times a day by accident. Surely every girl that has mehndi done admires it -- especially bridal mehndi.
Haldi
I guess this is kinda forgivable, but just one more ploy for the this destined second marriage angle they are trying to sell us
Faiz and Noor's marriage announcement card
why oh why didn't Yasmin not put that in her room for safekeeping. Given how proud she was of it, I feel like leaving it out in the open (with a party going on) wasnt the best idea. and this caused Shayra to vow to protect Noor. She clearly is loved, independent, and confident enough to speak her mind. Is she rash, childish, and impulsive -- yes. but she isn't a fragile flower. But i guess Fate needed that promise from Shayra
Marriage
WHO ANSWERS THEIR PHONE IN THE MIDDLE OF A WEDDING WHEN YOU'RE LITERALLY AT THE ALTER?!? WHAT!?! im sorry -- this is the most unbelievable part. How rude and disrespectful is that? No one thought to tell her to leave or hang up. No one could hear her saying Qubool Hai -- she wasn't being that quiet and they were standing next to each other. She herself wasn't cognizant of her surrounding and think "hey, maybe this isnt a good idea, call me back in 10 mins Faiz there is literally a wedding going on and you are trying to make me say Qubool Hai. Sorry! ttyl!"
i cannot believe they tried to sell that as divine intervention. nope, that was a character being rude, disrespectful, and childish -- and every other character that was standing there was being willfully ignorant.
Mirror
Honestly, this scene wouldnt have been so bad had everything else not happened
Suhag Raat scene
Once again, absolutely unnecessary for her to sitting on their bed. she could have said all those little quips will standing next to them. no reason for her to be on the bed
Fire
not gonna touch that with a ten foot pole cause....nope.
I just wished that it wasn't playing the God/Divine Intervention/Fate card to make this second marriage happen. I want this to be a decision each character makes and has to face consequences verses being forced into a corner by saying it was "God's will" etc. A second marriage isn't something so trivial that it can be explained away by Fate. Having two wives is conscious decision (despite the circumstances) and I wished it is explored as such.
Sure the characters don't know that most of these things have happened *yet*, but as an audience member it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. but i think im in it for the long haul for this show -- so hopefully the show can explain things better now
I know I am over analyzing and being super judgey. I've watched plenty of serials that make no sense - but a girl can hope
