Very interesting post and a sensible question! 👍🏼

I am neutral about Pari and actually ship her with Arnav, mainly because I like Arnav and want him to get what his heart desires. Obviously, he loves Pari despite her rejection and her foolish crush on Ruhaan. And I love the way he keeps asking her if she has told Ruhaan. Initially, he seemed relieved it was not yet reciprocated, but then once he got over the jealous phase, he was looking out for her- he didn't want her to suffer a heartbreak in case Ruhaan rejected her. I love the growth in Arnav as a character, to the extent he is probably my favourite character right now. If he is the one to embrace and heal a broken Pari, so be it. His love is capable of that now.

Coming to why I cringe in Pari- Ruhaan scenes even when I know Ruhaan will never leave Mishti...

Yes, I don't really care whether Pari ever gets married or remains a spinster. It is her life. What particularly horrifies me is the fact that she is making a big fool of herself. It is very uncomfortable to watch.

It is like ...say, you know this random girl has a huge crush on your best friend's boyfriend. Rather than hate her, you would feel pity on her and feel for her. (I wouldn't be angry, because I know my best friend is in a secure relationship and nothing can change that) The victim naturally is the dumb girl who blindly mistakes friendship for love and it would be disastrous if this random girl is not random, but your best friend's sister. What would you do then? Call her aside and tell her she is making a fool of herself.

I guess we are all frustrated because we are watching a smart young woman repeatedly making a fool of herself and we can't do anything about it. Naturally, it could happen to any of us or our friends and is a disaster that should be nipped in the bud. Instead, it seems to be getting bigger and uglier.

Honestly, what I feel is not anger, it is horror. Thank God, this is not happening to anyone I know. Poor Arnav! He will hurt more when she gets hurt.

I always thought of myself as gender neutral😳. I mean I would hit the ceiling when women ask for lenience because they are women ( like in queues, late comers etc.... ) in different situations. Similarly, I get very mad when people say to boys/guys, ladkiyon ke jaise wala😡or ladka hain, nonsense. But, in the back of my mind, I know, I always lean a little more towards girls/women for obvious reasons. I always felt that women need to work extra hard to be looked at as credible beings in professions or even family related conversations.

Believe me, in Silsila, I have to grudgingly admit, I seem to be siding more with the men, Ishaan, Ruhaan and Arnav👍🏼. I guess I have to be proud that I have officially become gender blind😃

Later girls .....

True. These are the three characters I like and appreciate the most too. 👍🏼😳

Me too. I connect to the female characters more in shows probably because the men are portrayed horrible. I love Mauli but by the end of the show it was Ishaan ‘s happiness I wanted the most because Ishaan was 🤗.

In S2 too I feel the men have an upper hand . Ruhaan and Arnav are well written and you feel for them. The girls are nice . But these guys are great 👍🏻. I appreciate the writers for this.

So it’s the three men for me as well.
