They are not meeting because:

1) VP had been cursed by a tantrik years back that a girl called Medusa (Palak's middle name, which we will find out later) will only need to look at him and he will turn into stone. At that time the Tantrik had said "I curse you VP Noon"

OR

2) VP is the person who had come to the hospital to pay for Palak's brother's bills (since his company's medicines were required), only it was too late and the brother was dead. And so, Palak had told him

"I curse you VP Noon ... my mother lost her son and so will you"

OR

3) Palak used to get pineapples from VP's farm earlier (before her own friend bought a farm) and one of the pineapples were bad and gave her a tummy upset which made her late for an NGO appointment and she told him "I curse you VP Noon ... you will always get a bad tummy upset and will be looking for a men's room whenever I am within 5 miles of you"
