‘You talk nonsense’: Ashoke Pandit slams Kangana Ranaut over Ranveer Singh remarks

The ongoing controversy surrounding Ranveer Singh's reported exit from Don 3 continues to trigger reactions from members of the film industry. A day after actor and politician Kangana Ranaut appeared to back Ranveer amid the dispute with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), the federation's chief advisor Ashoke Pandit responded to her remarks.

Speaking to HT City, Pandit criticised those commenting on the issue without understanding the details of the matter. He said several people had formed opinions based on headlines rather than the facts behind the dispute.

Referring to Kangana's recent statement, Pandit said, “A lot of people in the industry have started abusing us. Yesterday, Kangana also said something. We are not understanding the whole issue, and people are just commenting. Kangana also said that even I have been banned by the industry. I said, ‘You talk nonsense, that’s why I banned you.’ I don’t care. There is a big issue of the industry here. You don’t even know the issue. You are just saying things. We are not against Ranveer. We are talking about what has happened.”

He further clarified that FWICE's concerns are not directed at Ranveer Singh personally. According to Pandit, the federation's position relates to professional commitments and the impact such disputes may have on producers, technicians and workers associated with a project.

Pandit's comments came after Kangana addressed the issue during the trailer launch of her upcoming film Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata. Reacting to the controversy, she compared the situation with her own experiences in the industry and suggested that public opposition often increases with success. “You are asking me, I have been banned by everybody!” Kangana said while sharing her views on the matter.

The dispute began after reports emerged that Ranveer had exited Don 3, produced by Excel Entertainment. FWICE later issued a non cooperation directive after producer and director Farhan Akhtar reportedly raised concerns about losses caused by the actor's departure following extensive pre production work.

The federation has repeatedly stated that it has not banned Ranveer Singh and maintains that the matter concerns accountability and professional conduct within the entertainment industry rather than any personal issue with the actor.
