Her casual, matter-of-fact avatar in his office, cruelly conveying her disbelief and rejection of his and his family's "gumaan" about her, crumbles in the break room as she weeps tears of sorrow! Such powerful writing, acting and direction⭐️ That girl is a broken soul and Dr. Asfi will need all his positive thinking prowess to set her and their path together right.
Even though the love story is the primary pull, this episode had significant progression in two other tracks. Baba's journey from doubting his son, falling back from supporting him in his righteous battle, being ashamed of him, to now when his other son creates the path for his dead son's valor to be recognized and respect restored!! The scene with two of them at the graveside and Baba readily admitting his human frailty, asking for forgiveness was so heart wrenching. As was Khajista's innocent delight in her mother-in-law's new found love for her!! She is but a young teenager, and loves that somebody stitched her new silk cloth...only to end up in the hospital because of the monster who is her husband😡
Each character is so well-etched👏 Bahadur's mom, on learning that the doctors will have to abort the baby in their attempt to save Khajista's life, says: "Yeh kaisa saanp mein paida kiya hai jo apni hi aulaad ko kha gaya" It is telling that she admits, if even to just herself, that she has some responsibility in this sad state of affairs.
Can't wait for Wednesday!
