2010: Kangana said that she and Hrithik had an affair during the making of the film Kites, which was their first association as co-workers. She added that Hrithik was besotted by her and approached her again with Krissh 3 which was his home production. She declined the film as she did not want to get involved with a married man again. However, Hrithik kept persuading her and chased her to sign the film. Kangana finally relented after 6 months and signed the film.
"I had a bad experience when 'Kites' released and I was very hurt by what had happened. Anurag Basu was a close friend and at that time I did not even talk to Hrithik or Rakeshji about it.I felt that if Anurag had chopped my role, he should have told me, so that I could have mentally prepared myself for it. Before reading the script of 'Krrish 3', I rejected the film, considering my past experience. But even then, the Roshans were good to me. I started regretting my decision. But Rakeshji approached me for the film again and this time I said yes right away. Kangana had then told a leading daily.
2013: Krrish 3 took three years to get made. Kangana said that their affair was at its peak during the filming of Krrish 3 and as lovers they shared many tender moments. She said that while she was in Newyork, she wrote many intimate proses and poems for Hrithik. She described Hrithik as her "true love and said that she was very serious about him. In June 2013, Hrithik went through a brain surgery. Kangana said that they kept in touch even when he was in the ICU and was recovering.
"He is probably the nicest person you'll ever meet. He's Mr. Goody Two-shoes. He is not one of those men who would use slangs or implied words to seem macho or "cool". If you have a good-looking person around it makes the day more beautiful. He is very shy as a person. He is very grounded and attentive. That makes him very approachable. He comes across as someone who has problems and who can understand yours." Kangana said in an interview to a TV Channel while promoting Krrish 3.
By the year end, Hrithik's marital life was in turmoil and Sussanne Khan filed for divorce from Hrithik Roshan on Dec 14, 2013.
"Sussanne has decided to separate from me and end our 17-year relationship. This is a very trying time for the entire family Hrithik Roshan had released a statement.
2014: After, the release of Krrish 3 and in the midst of separation from wife, Hrithik and Kangana continued with their affair. Hrithik promised Kangana "marriage after his divorce with wife would come through by the end of the year.
Kangana gave an interview to a leading daily and said, "My love life is exciting. When you're in love, you kind of have to be sure about things that you make public. I hope it works out. A source had told a newspaper that in the beginning of 2014, Hrithik had proposed to Kangana in Paris.
Kangana also stated that Hrithik's stance on their relationship suddenly changed while he was away shooting in Manali for a film (Bang Bang). She said that Hrithik failed to wish her on Valentine's day and that she got suspicious of him as there were hushed whispers about the rumors of his affair with the film's actress. On Valentine's Day, Hrithik called it off with Kangana.
Kangana's super-hit film, Queen released on March 14, 2014. Kangana claims that after the success of the film, Hrithik came back to her and asked her to take him back. He wanted to get back with her. She said that they also discussed this at Karan Johar's birthday party that year where Hrithik accused Kangana of getting too big for her boots.
2015: Hrithik continued chasing Kangana in a bid to get back with her. However, Kangana had already moved on and was not interested in him. She called his father, Rakesh Roshan and seeked his help to arrange a meeting with Hrithik to finally have closure to their relationship. Rakesh Roshan promised to help but called back a few days later and said that Hrithik was over her. This was the end of their relationship, according to Kangana Ranaut.
2016 : Kangana said in an interview, "Yes, many lame rumours are doing the rounds, even a dumb ass can tell where these rumours are coming from. I don't know why exes do silly things to get your attention. For me that chapter is over and I don't dig graves All hell broke loose after this statement and Hrithik and Kangana have been engaged in a bitter legal battle ever since.
