I genuinely hope they show this. Would be quite the shock for many to watch the literal unfolding of… hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

No issue if they highlight Ravan was a Shiv Bhakt, scholar and was powerful enough to defeat Kuber… they should also know that they shouldn’t exaggerate his achievements too much too to project him as someone whose downfall was only owing to one thing.

Ravan had violated a lot of women in his life and was cursed owing to the same. So much is made up of how he never tried to force himself on Maa, but he was cursed by then that if he dares force himself on another woman again, regardless of how many times his head regenerates, they shall all explode killing him eventually. He tries his best to intimidate Maa Sita using every tactic and trick to accept him.

Word to your post 👍

Ravan composed Shiv Tandav Stotram, right?

Will they highlight his wife Mandodari in this movie?

She was a religious and a pious woman, right? She tried to correct her husband. Asked him to return Sita to Ram but he didn’t listen.

Yes, his wife does plead with him, even both his brothers are said to have done the same but he was destined to not listen to them so as to get killed by Narayan.

We know he forgets his real identity courtesy of Maya, which is Jay. In reality he couldn’t have even come close to Maa’s shadow had some part of Maa not wished it, but there were literally so many curses that were finally culminating in this life be it for Narayan or his gatekeepers. These were Leelas that were unfolding. We know Narayan was cursed to keep reincarnating on earth repeatedly and bear the pain of losing his love via Rishi Bhrigu as Narayan kills his wife, Narad Muni curses him to have to rely on monkeys as he was angry once and felt humiliated to have looked like a monkey, and finally it was the curse of the Sanat Kumars to the dwarpals - Jay and Vijay to be reborn on earth which later is modified to them being born as Narayan’s enemies thrice to be later slain by him.

He gets angry at Mandodari but doesn’t do anything to her, he kicks Vibhishan out and Kumbhkaran, the reincarnation of Vijay so he was destined to die at Narayan’s hand and ergo he stayed. This was their second birth post the curse to be expelled from Vaikunth and be born on earth.

So this was technically always his destiny but of course Maya makes him forget it all and all he knows is his ego and pride as Ravan. He refuses to bow down to Ram thinking he has a chance despite being aware that Ram was a mortal and his boon from Brahma Dev was precisely this - that only a mortal may kill him and no other being in the universe. So even if he forgot his reality, he was still aware of the fact that he could be killed by a mortal. There’s also a thought that believes that while Ravan didn’t remember his reality, he had picked up that Ram was no ordinary mortal either, certainly not after witnessing what Hanuman, someone who served Ram was capable of doing be it via burning his Lanka or by picking up the whole Meru mountain like it was nothing. He knew Ram was divine incarnate and thus wanted to die at his hands so as to attain Moksha.

Yes, he composed the Shiv Tandav Strotam and it’s actually done as an apology. We know he insults Nandi Maharaj and then dares to presume he can take Kailash with him to Lanka without asking Mahadev; while Mahadev and Maa as well as all their ganas are at Kailash.

Mahadev allows him to put his hands under Kailash and then simply puts his big toe on the ground and that causes Kailash to come down and crush his hands underneath it.

Shiv Tandav Strotam was composed by him as an apology later when Nandi Maharaj tells Ravan he has angered Mahadev and so he must apologise if he wishes to be released.

He truly was a gifted musician and a scholar so he ends up composing it at the spot and Mahadev loves it so much he forgives Ravan, gives him this name and later on tells him that this Strotam shall forever be dear to him and anyone who recites it with devotion will be blessed by him.

They have cast his wife Mandodari and she’s being played by Kajal Aggarwal. But how big or small her role will be is yet unknown.

Thank you for the detailed explanation 👍

Since, this director has made this movie to please westerns.. calling this movie character as Superhero.. etc..

I think Sita & Mandodari will be a shown as beautiful arm candy for hero & villain.. while projecting Ram and Ravan as superhero & supervillain

Not sure what their roles will be. Sai is being paid 12 crores for both movies. Mandodari was a pious woman too even if she’s literally married to a Rakshash. I hope they remember these are not their usual female characters when writing whatever little they do in the movies, else god help them.
