Read Warning here.

😎

Caught up with the episodes I had missed out on and here's what I think keeping it as brief as I can. 😆

'Barood ke dher par baith kar aag ka khel nahi khelte'.

'You don't play the games with fire while resting on a heap of dynamites'.

That's precisely what Maya has been doing. Someone please remind her that, there are times when a well-paced pawn is more powerful than a king. Such a time may not has come yet but it soon will and when it does, checkmate. Game over.

When all her lies will be exposed, when all her masks will be unveiled, when all her games will be at display, when no Maya-mantra of hers will work, when she will have no power to use or no saviour to run to. When Maya Mehrotra will have to face the dust and when she does, I'll be among the one's who would breath a sigh of relief. I desperately await her downfall. For her true downfall shall give rise to her true redemption.

You know why? I'll quote 3 instances here, to be specific. a) She not only manipulated Arjun and Saanjh into buying the 'Jhanvi is the one with the mental illness' story but actually laid out the whole trap for not just one person, for 3 people to fall in it; Arjun, Saanjh and Ashwin. And boy, they did and how! b) What story Jhanvi sold Arjun and Saanjh wasn't the story that Jhanvi herself believed in, it was a tale perhaps the nth time retold (which Jhanvi knew to be entirely false) on order by her highness. c) All the vows Arjun and Maya took are soley based on Maya and her needs. Bravo! Master stroke on master strokes, she really is a mastermind, isn't she?

Something seems off with my last sentence, doesn't it? Annihilation doesn't praise Maya when she's her abhorrent self ...Ah, glad, you all seem to remember what I approve and what I don't. 😆 Those 3 incidents had my stomach churning in sickness. 😳 No matter the reasons, no matter the past, no matter her state of mind, if she's so calculatingly, so callously, so schemingly, so unapologetically and so indifferently able to play the people around her, particularly the ones she claims to love, I hold her accountable for her intentions and her actions. There's a Maya I with the bottom of my heart feel for and there's a Maya I don't feel for and this one is not that.

Maya may not be an outright negative person, she's not villainous, she's not a witch, she's not some evil entity threatening to take over the world, as of now, agreed. However, she could very well be on the road to or already is on to become one (if stopped within time). These little nuances are what essentially makes 'evil' up. While, it's a dangerous over-simplification to believe that some people are innately 'good' and some people are innately 'bad', what pushes me further into thinking whatever I do of Maya is, she does not any sign of conflict, confusion, remorse or guilt. Show me a little 'conscience', even if its screwed one. That's one quality I craved for the longest time to see in Maya but I guess the writers don't picture her as having one.

Take all that she's said and done till date into account, ask any critique to review beyhadh and ask them who they think is the antagonist/villain, they will, without a doubt name Maya (alongside, Ashwin). I initially was reluctant for a negative Maya but if she really was meant to be one, I'll take that. Because the script hasn't been disappointing enough for me to quit and because Jennifer Winget slays as Maya, particularly those dark-psychotic shades of hers.

I have come to accept that this is Maya's story and every other character around her is to play a certain role. She's the pivotal and centric part of the story and every other force acts around her. And that's how I have given up on theories or wishes for Saanjh or anyone else to have a story arc of their own. That's not what their characters are meant for, each character in there is meant to show us the underlying layers there is to her.

Saanjh has finally gotten around to playing her role in the show and I like what she does and how she does. She's one character in there who always tries to be a better person and I appreciate that a lot. Whatever wit she lacks is because her vision is mostly clouded by good intentions that do not allow her to see people for what they are. Example, Maya being the master manipulator and Arjun...um, basically being an ass? 🤔 With that, I have also given up on Arjun's character because he only makes of his already rotting grey cells when he has to lash out at Saanjh. At all other dire instances when he's needed to make use of his head or is about to make use of his head, he's rendered a love-sick mannequin. Probably just the need to dumb down the characters for other characters to seem intelligent. Or just...bad writing. 😆

It's sad to see one of the crucial characters bite the dust but since Ashwin has to go, I place my bets on Jhanvi followed by a third entity (someone from Ashwin's past or someone related to him somehow) followed by Maya for the killer position. Maya's as Ashwin's killer would be way too convenient, obvious and unintelligent. I expect something better than that.

On that note, koi na koi Maya ke barood ke dher ko machis laga kar jayega and then...BOOSH!

PS I'll get started on Maya's truth and her mental illness deduction sometime later because the moment they go 'Maya ka sach', I feel like going and deep freezing my brain 'cause I'm afraid it might stop working. 😳 #do some research writers #give us something concrete #stop sounding so ridiculous #better offer something legitimate whenever revealing her truth.

*****

Since people wanted my old posts in one place, here's the complete list in no particular order.

Jab pyaar aapko control karne lage toh usse barbaad kardo.
Woh toh kisi shaitaan se bhi na darre.
A man and 3 women who shape his destiny.
What to learn from Maya, Saanjh and Arjun.
Maya, you're completely mental.
Possibility of a much darker and murkier past?
Aaj se aap sirf meri maa hain.
The right vs left analogy.
Jab jaan par aa jaye toh kufr bhi jayez hain.
Aaj se sirf Saanjh, dusky nahi.
Mujhe saayon ko hatane ki aadat hain.
Makdree, makhee aur jaal.
Mubarak ho! Obsession hui hain.
Rang badal dene se kahaniyon ko dekhne ka nazariya badal jata hain.
Maya ka sach jaan kar, Arjun khud bhaag jayega.
Jiski jaisi samjh uska waisa sach.
Toh usse bina haath ke jeene ki aadat daalni padegi.
The unforgettable and life changing trip.
The battle of winning love has begun.
The game is on.
Romantic? I think not.

I missed ur posts husna🤗
Resing for now😳
--------------------------------------------
Husna welcome back🤗
I missed u and ur posts i also checked the forum to check if ive missed ur posts😆
M so so happy to see u back😊
And ur posts as alwayzz amazingly penned it has my thoughts exactly!!
Yupp as u said Maya cannot be the killer that would be too obvious and predictable!!
I feel it can be Jhanvi because in epi 83 she tells she removes whatever comes in her path!!
Or maybe a 3rd person!!🤔
And about the sach reveal it alreadyhope it is valid and logical!!
About Saanjh too i agree what u said!! Maya can easily manipulate her!!wonder how is she going to find everything!!And m happy that she is atleast trying to move on!!!Hope she moves on fully as she deserves much much better!!!
Arjun well i wanted to rant abt this character the most and m going to rant here😆Well he was the one to stop saanjh frm leaving giving her the hope that he wil be there for her as a friend!!but i don think none of it happened!! He lashed out at her for accusing abt maya but for once he din even ask her as to why she did this!!?He totally behaved like a jerk and at that moment i so wanted saanjh to give him a slap to bring him back to reality!!Another incident when she met ashwin and arjun saw them together!! Well 1st of all Saanjh shouldnt have gone there at the 1st place!!Secondly Arjun again accuses her that she spies on maya again like really😳I don know as to what wil Arjun do when he gets to know about the truth of maya!?
Will he support Maya😳?
As u said poorly written character in this show i guess!!
And from my pov he doesnt deserve both maya and saanjh🤣
these gals deserve better
Ashwin will be missed truly!Especially the way he tells "Maya Baby"

P.S Blabbered here after a long time ignore typos and errors🤣

Maya being the killer is too predictable
There won't be any suspense left to reveal in that way ;)
I highly doubt she can kill
She wants her way but at the same time she believes in God
She herself said that she was waiting for god to punish ashwin :)

...And then she took out the knife from under the table placed right in front of the Ganesha idol. ;) Point being, I too have said that Maya being the killer is way too predictable. Can't be, should be someone else.

Totally agree that Maya is the central character of this show. Everyone else is there to either invoke a reaction from her or to show a contrast in her. Even Arjun and Sanj are in a sense supporting characters here I feel. I love how she plays people like they are just pieces on a chess board. The smartness in her plus her psychological troubles makes her very dangerous. I absolutely love watching Maya and am intrigued by all her calculated strikes. I wonder what will bring her fall, it can't be Sanj. That wouldn't be interesting. Sanj might save Arjun from dangers and stuff. But Maya's fall/redemption should be triggered by Maya herself due to some situation that roots from the person who she loves Beyhadh. The point around lack of guilt is an interesting point too. We see triumph a lot but never guilt. Isn't she something :)

I don't think she killed ashwin as it would be too predictable, but no i don't think she is capable of killing someone. threatening, yes but not sure about killing. though, I'm really sad at ashwin's demise because he was the next most interesting character after maya otherwise no other character is compelling enough. which is the downfall of this show in my opinion.

Am I missing something or most of you seem to be assuming that I am a 100% certain that Maya is the killer? 😆 She's ranks last in my suspects list because even though she has a motives, she still makes the least likely killer if you expect a good thriller/mystery. Oh yes, I'm sad too we have to bid Ashwin goodbye. He was the only character I had all my hopes pinned on and he also made for a good character so far, someone who actually takes the story forward.

Maya's the character the show's tethered to and she forms the crux of the story. Thank goodness that the central character no matter how messed up is at least interesting. The purpose of Saanjh's character is to unravel Maya's mystery and drag Arjun out of the Maya jaal. Or at least, that's what I think it is must be.

yeah I like ashwin because of that otherwise the show is running in circles. if one of the main antagonist dies so early then what are they going to show us, because I've heard there is a total of 260 episodes. they could have wrapped this story neatly in 150 episodes from my angle. Maya/jen is carrying the show so far and that is only reason i watch, although there might be a day when I just stop watching.

They're taking it excruciatingly slow and thriving only one thing : Maya's sach. Which honestly has begun to annoy the crap out of me because I have been hearing that line since episode 1. 😳 Yep, I think it is a good idea to take breaks and watch the show than watch in regularly as they're rather fond of merry-go-round. 😆
