Warning.

missed me? 😎

(I think not. 😆)

Been an interesting week so far, the episodes at most instances seemed dragged but I'm glad it made a progression for all it's principal characters. Had it not and Arjun-Maya would have just been back after a mills and boons romance then I'd have been rather disappointed. Barring a few technicalities or rather doubts that I have, I liked this particular track for two major reasons. One, the splendid cinematography and two, much needed character progression. I'll try to cover the most important aspects/events of the episodes played throughout the week. The trip to Mauritius concluded in finally setting the game up.

Maya as Arjun's saviour : This and it's following boat scene were perhaps the scenes I liked the most for a simple reason that it was pure in its emotions and devoid of any toxicity. Two people driven just by one unadulterated emotion, love. I have always said I love Maya the most when she's her real self, when she's her unscathed, non-toxic and non-manipulative Maya, when all that she is reflects her love for her loved ones. ❤️ The real sense or essence of love, mind you though.

Her sole aim was to just save Arjun's life, to save her loved one, to save the one her own life is anchored to. In that moment, she didn't care if she could have him just for herself or not, she'd risk her own life and everything else if it means Arjun could be saved, she just wanted him out and alive. She gave him a much needed hearing and then proceeds to practically claim him, in the sense that their paths are now merged and it's her who is going to led them to the final destination. Arjun too stunned to be able to comprehend, in a state of trance, levitates into Maya's world.

By the time these two got in the boat, Arjun was already hers. The proposal was more of formality than a necessity because Arjun had already fallen in love with the woman who risked her life to save his. But he nonetheless, had to propose now, didn't he? The sense of serenity their boat travel was all about was inescapable, just the two of them, away from the clutches and burdens of the world, at peace in togetherness.

Saanjh's heartbreak and Arjun's proposal : The only time I felt the need to give one tight slap to Saanjh was to shake her out of the extreme panic mode she had gotten into after it was confirmed that Arjun's life was indeed in danger. 😳 Yes girl, you sensed it, okay but for the love of your own duffer, stop panicking because there's nothing you could have done in that moment. I always found Prem a 'father goals' material and it made so much sense when he was the one who gave Saanjh the opportunity to chase her dream, achieve it if she can and be back. And if she couldn't do so, come back all the same because her father will still welcome her with open arms. A twisted DDLJ 'jaa simran jaa, azmaa le apni zindagi' moment there. 😆

Maya proposed Arjun in the heights of skies and Arjun proposed Maya in the depths of water. It's one part of their dynamic that I like, these two like to challenge and outdo each other which ignites and contributes in keeping the spark in their romance/relationship alive. The child-like innocence, excitement and enthusiasm Maya showed upon learning what's to come was beauuutiful to watch! ❤️ Her smile, that heartfelt-lighting up her eyes-infectious smile of hers.

Call it another foreshadowing or the millionth number of symbolism, there will come a time when Arjun has to go back to Saanjh and he won't (in all probability) go back to her as a friend. Saanjh walking the exact same route, following all the clues and doing all that Maya did which eventually led her to Arjun does strongly suggest that. It's not something I say because of personal preferences, I do so because that's clearly what the show stresses upon time and again. Although, it was rather foolish of her to assume that those clues were left for her. She probably assumed Arjun knows she's in Mauritius after their unclear and abrupt phone conversation. The thing I loved the most about the entire proposal/confession and Saanjh's heartbreak was, Saanjh literally had to struggle to reach Arjun, she had to put in all of the energy and the effort, she had to put in all of herself in order to reach Arjun whereas Maya was taken away with no personal effort at all. The stark contrast there was ah-mazing! ⭐️

Personally, I think you truly deserve something when you have earned it, a job, a title, a friendship, a relationship, love or basically anything. When you're given something with no amount of effort or struggle, that is blessing from Almighty. But what you're given after a period of hardships and struggle, that is a greater blessing from him. It means it is your reward for passing the difficult tests he puts you through. 😳

My heart went out to Saanjh when she sat at the brink of the waters, devastated to the core. 🥺 Her dreams, her hopes, her life, all shattered in just one go. It is excruciatingly painful to love and not be loved in return. And pains you in an inexpressible manner and to great degrees when the realization finally hits you that the one you loved with every fibre of yours cannot be yours. The only difference was Saanjh was meant to fail at this point, she was destined to fall so that she could rise, she was fated to burn so that she could be reborn from the ashes. It'd be great if Saanjh somehow gets the ring back (the one Prem gave her) at some point later in the story, would complete a full circle. Lost and found.

The infamously famous prophecy and diya's burning : How bad was the pandit bashed for the prophecy he made, by the way? Quite a lot, I'd guess. 😆 I didn't want to put forth my views based alone on what the priest had to say and thus I waited for something else to come up and yay, it did! Arjun said he'd rather make a direct connection to God instead of believing the word of mouth, performed that diya-ritual (idk what exactly its called?), please note what happened. Not just one but BOTH the lamps get burned. One lights itself up enough to burn, the other catches the fire from the first one. That's essentially, Maya and Arjun. Fits perfectly into the prophecy's description as well. There you go, last nail in the coffin. 😳 Can't get clearer than this, honestly. If you still doubt it, please place your doubts on the TRP factors instead of what the writers intend to tell us.

As for who killed the priest? I wanted to wait and assess Maya's reaction to that news before I jumped the gun and her reaction showed no surprise at all. Cold, nonchalant, knowing look. Like she saw it coming, like she knew it was going to happen. I don't say Maya strangled him with her own hands but I don't even deny the possibility of her role in his death. She definitely played a role in bringing upon his sudden demise. Maya's not the kind to get her hands dirty, she can very well make others do the dirty work if need be. She's not a puppet, she's a mastermind.

Am I disappointed? Slightly. Because I expected Maya to go from dangerously dark to an acceptable shade of human or just remain grey. Here, she's seems to be going a notch higher, grey to black, perhaps. As for what the show promised, the show never explicitly stated that Maya will not turn negative as the story progresses. The only premise was Maya was initially shown to be grey and till this point she was. Don't bring the statements made by Jen, Kushal, Aneri or any of the actors. These guys don't know how and when the story will take a turn if TRP's demand it. I'd probably still watch the show till the end for the same reason I'd want to finish a book no matter how crappy I find it after 50 pages. 😆 Besides, if the script is crisp, the performances are great and every nitty-gritty is taken care of, I don't mind continuing with the show.

The game is on : I loved how gracefully did Saanjh handle her heartbreak, tried her best to behave in an dignified manner and give all the space to the new love bird, takes hell lot of courage. No venomous digs and no blame games. As much as it must have pained her to watch Arjun and Maya in an passionate embrace, she walked away from the scene. She chose to let them be and just walk away knowing it's not her place to be there. Maya's insecurities prompt her to take subtle yet peppery digs every time she sees Saanjh (or evenVandana) around and that's when Saanjh lo laga, bhai, ab tit for tat ho hi jaye. 😆

I don't think Saanjh in her head has assumed that Maya's behind the priest death. 'Maya, apne saaman ko na sambhal kar rakho, kyunki agli phir mujhe woh mil jaye toh main wapus nahi karungi'. Saaman is basically, Arjun and what she means to say is takes me back to paragraph number #8. Sometimes, if we don't value what's given to use, if we don't treat it right or misuse it, it can very well be snatched away from us. Who knows when Maya's blessing could be taken away from her and given it to Saanjh? You call it whatever you like but I call the look these two women gave each other the 'game face'. And thus,
'Zindagi ka koi bharosa nahi hai na...
'Kab palat jaye...'
the game, mrs.hudson, is on. 😎

Last thoughts.
Arjun-Maya : Ishq ke imtehaan na aasman ki unchaiyon mein hote hain, na paani ki gehraiyon mein. Ishq lete hain hai kaise imtehaan on zameen, folks. 😆 Amongst forces, against forces. Good luck passing the test of time and destiny! I hope you two come out of them a winner if you two are truly right for each other.

Saanjh : You'll bounce back soon enough, darling. It's okay to cry and feel broken. If the one you love truly belongs to you, he'll come around. Meanwhile, you go and do some kick-ass work.

Mathur and Sharma family : Better be ready! Something wicked this way comes. Also, Vandana, get ready to be bashed left, right and center once you show displeasure at development of recent events. After all, you're kokila saasuma and Maya is Gopi vahu. 😆
PS Please do read replies if I make them, don't like to repeat myself over and over again. Try and not to engage in fan wars here, please. 😳

Is it Diwali now? 😳 | 6th jan.

'Cause zor ka jhatka haye zorron se laga! 🤣 How many characters did the writers plan eliminate in one go? Everyone except Arjun and Saanjh were in for a rude shock. Diwali ke patakhon ka shor bhi itna loud nahi hota hoga.

Maya, I would have been impressed with you had you let Arjun and Saanjh just be like Saanjh had let you two be. Trust should be the basis of any relationship, not insecurities. But then again, Maya is Maya and Saanjh is Saanjh. If Maya does what Saanjh would do and Saanjh would do what Maya does, there wouldn't be any difference between the two.

Vandana, Ayan, Prem, Suman and Shubh, you poor lot is all I can say. Although, I must admit, the look on Vandana and Ayan's faces was priceless. 🤣

Jhanvi, I had just begun to place my trust in you but you foolish woman, mera trust and apni akkal dono hi le dub gayi. Maya, darling, Ashwin's your father. Actually, your father. You had a surprise in store, he had a bigger surprise in store for you. 😳

I repeat, the game is really on.

Today Suman and Vandana were indeed annoying. I understand their excitement but jumping to conclusions that Arjun loves Saanjh is really stupid. Suman was talking about marriage and babies to Arjun and I was like 'what is happening?'😕 But I'm happy all the bubbles of excitement and happiness have finally burst and they think rationally now, I hope.
Vandana's expression was of shock, but more than that I could see terror in her eyes when she saw Maya and even in the precap. I dunno whether it was only me, but it was very much evident.
The flight scene, was yet another testimony to the fact that Arjun will return to saanjh, and no matter how much Saanjh tries to let go of him, he will come back to her. I loved the scene until Maya came in.
About Jhanvi, I have nothing to say but that the characters of these 3 mothers are highly illogical.
Brilliant acting by Aneri in today's episode. My heart went out to her when she said, ' woh mujhse pyaar nai karta toh kya hua, main toh usse karti hoon'. The emotions were nailed perfectly by her.

I didn't find Vandana or Suman annoying. That is exactly what I expected from them and its exactly how they behaved. I don't really blame them, tbh. Their level of excitement was met with an equal amount of shock. Hisaab barabar. 😆 Of course, there was a hint of 'terror' in her eyes because she's the only one who was able to see those dark shades in Maya.

Yep, that flight scene serves as another symbolism. But Maya came running behind Arjun, shows she's not going to let him go easy.

As for Jhanvi, if I'm to give her a benefit of doubt, I think Ashwin made her agree to it. She must not have done it out of will but under some pressure, threat or a leverage. Otherwise, I can't imagine how a Jhanvi who seemed sensible in the head couple of days ago loses her mind all of a sudden?!

Oh yes, good performance by Aneri! 😳
