CHAPTER TWELVE
Raman was so anxious and wasn't so sure on how he was to be received. He was anxious and excited at the same time not knowing how all this was going to turn out. Mihir on the other hand was a bit pessimistic and so was Shagun because they all knew if they found her in not so good a mood, she was going to be so pissed. One of the conditions she had given to Mr. Bhalla was that in the process of her playing Mrs. Raman Kumar Bhalla, in no way was it to affect her life in anyway.
'Okay... We are here...'' Said Shagun as they parked in a distance
'I suggest we should call her first before we go in...'' Said Mihir
'No... Then it would defeat the purpose of a surprise don't you think...'' Said Raman
'No... I am with Mihir on this one. I think we should call her and tell her...'' Said Shagun
'No... We should just go in... Come on drive ahead...'' Raman told the driver and he obliged. When they got to the gate unlike the first time when Shagun came, it was locked.
Raman got out of the car and pressed the intercom that was at the gate saying
'Hello is anyone there...''
'Yes... How may I be of help Sir'' Jai answered
'Oh yes... I am looking for Ishita Kumar Bhalla... Does she live here...'' Said Raman
'I am sorry Sir... We don't have an Ishita Kumar Bhalla here...'' Said Jai
'Raman...'' Mihir whispered
'What...'' Raman said
'Ishita Iyer... She goes by Ishita Iyer...'' Said Mihir much to Raman's surprise
'Sir... I am looking for Ishita Iyer...'' Said Raman through the intercom again
'Okay... May I ask who this is...'' Said Jai
'It is Raman... Raman Kumar Bhalla... Her husband...'' He answered
There was no response as Raman stayed trying to listen through the intercom if he was going to say something but nothing came. Two minutes later he heard someone unlock the gate but just enough such that he got out.
Jai walked out shocked to his wits not believing what he had heard. He had to come out and see for himself just to make sure someone wasn't playing pranks on him
'Raman Sir...'' Said Jai as he made it outside
'Jai... Oh God hey...'' Said Raman
'Hello Sir... It is so good to see you...'' Said Jai as he extended his hand to greet Raman
'Good to see you too ... I asked about you but dad told me you just left and never came back...'' Said Raman as he extended his hand greeting Jai
'Well it had seized to be a good working environment...'' Said Jai
'Oh I see... I can imagine... My dad can be a bit demanding sometimes...'' Said Raman
'Right...'' Said Jai looking at Shagun before added
'I am so sorry about what happened to you Sir. How are you now? Still don't remember anything...'' Said Jai
'Well... I get by... I remember a few here and here but they do not make sense...'' Said Raman
'Oh really...'' Said Jai
'Wait... I didn't know that...'' Said Shagun
'That is because there is nothing to know...'' Said Raman
'So Jai... You work here now...'' Said Raman
'Yes although it feels more homely now... I leave here now... This is where my family is...'' Said Jai much to Shagun's irritation
'Anyway... I was looking for Ishita. Is this her house...'' Said Raman
'Yes but I can't let you in. I have to ask first... I hope you understand...'' Said Jai
'Oh no I get it. You always took you job seriously'' Said Raman causing Jai to smile at him before he walked back inside
Ishita's whole family was at her place that day. Her parents would sometimes spend the night especially when they wanted to spend some time with their grand babies and it as the same when Ishita wanted to see her parents. Mihika spend the night a lot and it was no news but it was on rare occasions to find then all here at Ishita's place at the same time, maybe it was fate, given what was about to happen.
Jai made it inside a bit nervous as to how he was going to begin this conversation. Ishita, Shlok Mihika and the Iyers were all in the living room enjoying each other's company while the kids played
'Ishita Didi...'' Said Jai grabbing everyone's attention
'There are a few people outside who would like to come say hi...'' Said Jai
'Oh Shlok were you expecting anyone...'' Ishita asked
'No...'' He answered
'No... Ishita Didi... These are you guests...'' Said Jai
'Oh... Uhhh Do you know who they are'' She asked
'It is Raman and his brother and Shagun...'' Said Jai holding his breath
'What'' Said Ishita
'What the hell are they doing here and how does he know where you live anyway...'' Said Mrs. Iyer
'My money is on the fact the Shagun must have brought him...'' Said Mr. Iyer
'Why... This doesn't help her or him in anyway...'' Said Mrs. Iyer
'I doubt she did it coz it helps. She hoped to achieve something else...'' Said Shlok
'Yeah but what...'' Said Mihika
'I am not so sure...'' Said Shlok
As they sat there contemplating where or not they should be allowed in, they say Raman walk into the living room with Mihir just behind him and he kept on looking apologetically at the Iyers knowing Raman was over stepping his boundaries. Jai saw them and turned saying
'I thought I asked you to wait outside...''
'I am sorry...'' Said Raman before he turned to the Iyers and said
'It is not his fault... I become light headed and needed some water to drink so I sort of let myself in.'' Said Raman and they all just stood there looking at him
All that kept on playing in Ishita's parents' ears was the pain there daughter went through because of them. The Bhallas had done nothing to even show remorse for what they had done and only showed up because they needed her help. They one thing she asked of them they couldn't even care because of their total disregard for other people.
'Mihir... What is the meaning of this...'' Said Shlok
'I am sorry... I tried to stop him but he wouldn't listen to me'' Said Mihir
'It wasn't his fault. I really wanted to see Ishita...'' Said Raman looking at Shlok before he sad
'Wait... Your Shlok right...'' He said
'Really... You are going to pretend you don't know me...'' Said Shlok who wasn't buying this whole I am light headed business
'No... I do remember but some faces are a bit unfamiliar. But I remember you... Hey...'' He extended his hand to say hello but Shlok didn't reciprocate
Shagun who kept on pacing up and down outside didn't know whether to go in or wait in the car given she had a bad feeling about this all of a sudden. The Iyers where like her parents and the way she left then on numerous occasions was always bad but the last time she disappeared, even she was embarrassed about. But like every daughter, the thought of seeing them outweighed any fear she had so she got out of the car and walked in
Meanwhile back inside everyone was standing there looking at each other not saying anything and Ishita just looked at them which didn't help the situation. Raman walked over to where the Iyers were and touched their feet much to their surprise as he greeted them but they didn't say anything back. Mihika who was never in the mood to hide her emotions just pretty much grabbed her cup of coffee and walked away not bothered what so ever.
'Can I have a seat...'' Said Raman
He knew with all this tension he wasn't wanted here but he was going to be damned then walk out without finding out even a little of what was going on.
'You can have a seat...'' Said Ishita before she called out
'Neelu...'' and Neelu walked in
'Please get a glass of water for him. Mihir can I get you anything...'' Said Ishita
'No.. I am good thank you...'' Said Mihir
'Okay then... Mind me asking where the other person is...'' Said Ishita
'She is taking a call outside... I am sure she will walk in anytime...'' Lied Mihir who knew Shagun was just avoiding the Iyers
'So... This is a nice place here...'' Said Raman as he looked around
It was a humongous house and yet very personal and homey. He looked up and it was the first time he had noticed this big portrait of these two very adorable babies on the wall. The walls had pictures of then everywhere and one of the portrayed had Ishita holding a baby while Shlok held the other. He frowned a bit out of curiosity but he didn't push it knowing this wasn't the time to bring that up. But then there was also a photo frame with Mihika and someone else who Raman recognized was Romi carrying these very same two children so he became a bit confused as to whose they were given they were still infants in the photos.
'Mama...'' Shagun finally said causing everyone to turn and look at her bringing Raman back from his stance as well
Mr. and Mrs. Iyer looked at her and Mrs. Iyer began tearing up while Mr. Iyer just turned to his daughter and said
'I love you Ishita and you know I would do anything for you but this...'' He said and Ishita interrupted
'I know papa... I understand...'' Said Ishita to which Mr. Iyer walked away
'Papa... Please...'' Said Shagun as tears filled her eyes but Mr. Iyer wasn't having it
'Mama...'' She added as she turned to where Mr. Iyer
'Can I talk to you...'' Said Mrs. Iyer before she grabbed Shagun's hand and walked with her to the kitchen where everyone else was away
'Maa... Maa... Maa ...'' Ruhi came running into the living room only to bump into Mihika who had made her way back to the living room
'Ohh... Careful you will hurt yourself...'' SaidMihika
'Sorry... He wants to take away my book...'' Said Ruhi as she giggled
'Because she hid my video game...'' Said Aditya who had just come to the mix
Ishita turned and looked at Shlok and he knew she was now officially worried. Raman was never meant to know about them, not yet. Everything was happening in a way she didn't want and it wasn't going as she wanted
'Okay... Okay Ru... Where is your brother's video game...'' Said Mihika
'I don't have it...Besides he keeps on making so much noise I can't concentrate...'' Said Ruhi
'Okay promise to keep it down...'' SaidMihika
'Haan... I will...'' Said Aditya
'Okay... It is under your pillow...'' Said Ruhi giggling before she turned and become more aware of her surroundings
Everyone in that living room was literally staring at them especially Mihir who had last seen them when they were still infants. Aditya my God was a spitting image of Raman it was crazy. It was looking in at an image mirror of Raman when he was that age. It was unbelievable and Mihir knew this... It was about to fall apart of his idiot brother didn't play it right
'And who are these two adorable beings...'' Said Raman who had also noticed the resemblance but he idiotically didn't make so much out of it
'Come over and say hello...'' Said Ishita and Shlok who was standing next to her slowly touched her hand to assure her, it would be aright
Ruhi looked at Raman and went and stood behind his brother. She was always the shy one and Aditya was like her protector. She wasn't good with people especially new faces but Aditya socialized well and so he took her hand in his and together they walked over to him,
'Good Morning Sir...'' Said Aditya
'Well aren't you polite... Good morning to you Sir, how are you...'' Said Raman
'I am fine thank you...'' Said Aditya
'Good Morning Sir...'' Said Ruhi in a small voice
'Good morning honey, how are you...'' Said Raman
'I am fine thank you...'' Said Ruhi
'You're so adorable, how old are you...'' Said Raman
'We are twins, which make us, 5... No wait...'' Said Aditya looking up as if he was remembering
'6... We are six years old...'' Said Ruhi
'Oh yeah... 6...'' Said Aditya smiling which caused Raman to smile and in the process Ruhi as well
'I am Aditya and she is Ruhi...'' Said Aditya
'Oh so your Aditya...'' Said Raman shaking Aditya's hand
Aditya looked at Raman as if he was looking for something and Raman just looked back at him not saying anything. He came forward and touched Raman's cheek and looked into his eyes staring at him but he didn't say a thing. Ruhi who was standing just behind also walked forward touching Raman's other cheek and both of them just stared at him but never said a thing.
Ishita who was watching all this was breaking inside and she was fighting everything not to breakdown and cry there and then. Shlok who like always stood like her shield took her hand in his with no care in the world what anyone would have thought of him.
'Adi... Ruhi... Come on lets go upstairs and let Ishita attend to her guests...'' Said Shlok causing then both to turn to their heels and walk away as Mihika followed suit leaving Raman and Ishita plus Mihir in the living room
Mihir watched all this, his jaw almost dropping to the ground and he so wished Shagun had witnessed this moment that was so powerful that it might just change the game to whole new direction that even Ishita didn't see coming.
Mrs. Iyer had grabbed Shagun's hand dragged her outside furious that she was even in that house.
'Mama... Wait please...'' Shagun cried but Mrs. Iyer wouldn't listen
She took Shagun outside and dragged her into the backyard where there was this small flower garden.
'Look...'' Mrs. Iyer said still angry. Shagun tried to see what they were telling her but she couldn't understand anything
'I said look...'' Said Mrs. Iyer again pushing Shagun again
'I don't know what you want me to see...'' Cried Shagun Mrs. Iyer walked to the flower garden pointing at the big stone in the middle of the garden. It had a sign of a ribbon and a date down below.
'Know what that means...'' Said Mrs. Iyer and Shagun just stood there
'It is a symbol for cancer survivors. Did you know that...'' She added
'Oh my God Mama, are you okay...'' Said Shagun but Mrs. Iyer was so damn pissed to even reason straight or differentiate right from wrong. She had anger boiling in her and it had been for years. She arched back and slapped Shagun causing Shagun to hold her cheek before she said
'You took everything from her, you stole from her and as if that wasn't enough you tried to kill her...'' Said Mrs. Iyer
It took Shagun a second or two to put two and two together her heart sinking to hear knees as she recognized
'Oh my God Ishita...'' She said
'Yes... Ishita... That person you so harshly punished for something which was no business of yours...'' Said Mrs. Iyer
'Oh My God... The hospital... The money... We thought it was the... Abhimanyu was in the same hospital we thought... Oh My God...'' Said a shocked Shagun
'Was it worth it...'' Said Mrs. Iyer
'I didn't know... I swear I didn't know Ishita was ill I swear I didn't know... Oh God...'' Said Shagun still in shock
'My daughter had cancer and you...'' Said Mrs. Iyer shaking her head before she added
'I took you in, gave you the love of a mother that you longed for. I never treated you any different from my children even after everything. I loved you like a daughter and treated you like one. I could have even forgiven you for your part in destroying her marriage because then I would have known Raman never really loved her but this...'' Said Mrs. Iyer pointing at the stone
'My daughter could have died. She could have dies Shagun and all for what...This I will never forgive you for...'' She added before she walked away leaving Shagun there falling on her knees in tears as she mumbled
'I swear I didn't know... I am sorry...'' Said Shagun

CHAPTER 13; SCROLL DOWN
Ishita remained in the living room and finally took her seat not even sure how she was going to address what had just happened. She wasn't going to say anything as long as he never asked. She would only if answer he asked.
'Mihir if you don't mind can I talk to her in private...'' Said Raman
'Oh yeah... No worries...'' Said Mihir and he got up and walked back out again
Mihir hoped his brother would try and remember something. All these people here were involved in his life one way or the other and where a major factor in what ever happened in that last couple of years he didn't seem to remember.
He made it outside and went to sit in the gardens upfront when he spotted Mihika coming from the back.
'Mihika...'' He called her and she turned to look at him before she turned and tried to walk away
'Wait... Wait...'' He said as he caught up with her
'What do you want Mihir?'' She said
'I just want to talk. You and I used to do that you know...'' He said
'Something even I am not sure why I did it...'' She said
'Wow... You have a lot of anger in you...'' He said
'Do you blame me? You Bhallas have a habit of bringing that out in people...'' She said
'What does that mean...'' He said a bit surprised at how mad she was and not just at Raman it seemed
'If you're asking me that, it means you are incapable of learning a thing and you are as idiotic as your brother...'' She said
'Wait a minute... You do not have to insult me you know. Just tell me why you're so pissed at me. What did I do...'' He asked
'Whatever I am out...'' She said as she turned to walk back but he wouldn't let her go
'Mihika what...'' He insisted
'You people are like leeches I swear. You take and take and take but never give when required... You bail... My sister...'' she said shaking her head as if she was holding back something before she added
'You know what differentiates us from you, even when the differences are too bad and we can't stand each other, we always help. That is how good we were raised...'' She said
'Mihika Iknow you angry and rightly so in some circumstances but you don't have to insult my family'' Said Mihir
'Oh really... Your family deserves shaming and that pathetic brother of yours is comingaround here like some love struck puppy... Like seriously... How pathetic...'' She said and that for some reason got Mihir pissed off
'Okay first things first,my brother was an idiot, I agree but do not stand there on your high pedestal like you sister is some sort of saint in all this. She is as much to blame as him and yes I agree he failed to show up when she needed him but that was something that was of her own doing. So as you're quick to throw accusations consider that. She is the reason we got here'' He said
'Wow... That is the Mihir that I know... self-righteous and entitled. If you think for one minute she was in any way obligated to help Raman then you're wrong. She did this out of the goodness of her heart and not some obligation. If you ask me he is getting what he deserves. And as you praise for your family and your brother I would like for you to think... If the tables had turned would they have done the same for her'' Said Mihika looking straight at him and Mihir had no answer
'That is why I am pissed because you're the most unappreciative bunch of people I have ever met...'' She said and walked back inside
Meanwhile, Ishita and Raman were still sitting in there in silence none of them aware of what they will say to the other. Raman was feeling a little awkward given how hard she was trying to be polite with him. She was treating him like a guest and not like someone she had known for close to 10 years.
'Wow... If I didn't know better I would think I am contagious...'' Joked Raman
'Why do you say that...'' Said Ishita
'Well everyone disappeared one and by. In fact everyone scattered...'' Said Raman
'Oh yeah... Sorry about that. Broken marriage and all so... my parents don't fancy you so much right now'' She lied
''Uhhh I see...'' He replied knowing she was lying
'Okay... First of all I am genuinely sorry for showing up unannounced but I really wanted to see you. I got a bit worried given you weren't receiving my calls and how you left I figured I come check in on you...'' He added
'Oh I am sorry about that. I actually called your dad and told him that I would be away for a while. He didn't tell you...'' Said Ishita although she wasn't surprised
'No... No he didn't... I wonder why...'' Said Raman
'Anyway I am sorry maybe I should have called you too, it would have saved you the trouble...'' Said Ishita
'It is okay... I wanted to see you anyway...'' Said Raman and Ishita just smiled before she looked away towards the stairs
Raman turned and he could see she was looking at Shlok who was just standing at the bottom of the stairs his hands in his pocket but not saying a word.
'Can we go somewhere and talk...'' He said knowing there were no way they were getting privacy here
'Right now I kind of have prior engagements. Meetings and stuff later today but I will get back tomorrow. Will that work...'' Said Ishita before she sneezed
'Achuuu...''
'Bless you...'' Raman said
'Excuse me...'' She said
'So I am guessing I will see you later...'' Said Raman
'Achuuu... Excuse me...'' She sneezed again
'Bless you...'' Raman said
'Yeah... You can stay and have something with us...'' She said
'I am not so sure you friend there will approve...'' He said looking at Shlok
'Achuuu... Oh God excuse me...'' She said again
'Ishu when was the last time you went to the doctor...'' Said Shlok
'Uhhh I don't... Three months go maybe...'' Said Ishita
'When is your next visit...'' He asked
'Next month... Shlok don't worry I am fine. It is just allergies or something...'' Said Ishita
'Yeah I am not buying that. Your health shouldn't take a back seat just because...'' Said Shlok but Ishita knowing what he was going to say interrupted
'It won't I promise you. I am fine... If it gets worse I will let you know.'' Said Ishita making Shlok to reluctantly agree before he walked to Raman and said
'I am so sorry for my rude behavior. I wasn't expecting to see you here so you can imagine I was a little taken back...''
'No I understand... I do. I should be apologizing for showing up like this unannounced. I should have called first...'' He said trying to make light of the fact the living room that he found so lively and full of people was now scarce and abit dull. Everyone had scattered
'I have to go... Work and stuff so you will have to excuse me'' Said Shlok
'I understand... ' Said Raman shaking Shlok's hand
'Ishu can I talk to you...'' Said Shlok and Ishita excuse herself and walked to where Shlok was
'Get him out of here...'' He said
I know... I am working on it...'' Said Ishita
'Well work harder... His lawyer is going to get here very soon and given none of his family members know this, it won't be okay if they meet him here...'' SaidShlok
'I know... I am working on it...'' Said Ishita before Shlok walked away and Ishita joined Raman again
'Hey sorry about that...'' She said as she took her seat
'It is okay...'' Said Raman looking at her and she was a bit uncomfortable before he said
'Can I ask you a question? ' He added
'Sure... Fire away...'' She said
'You and I have not been together for close to 7 years right...'' He said
'Give or take yeah...Why...'' She said holding her breath hoping he didn't ask what she thought he would
'Does that mean you married someone else...'' He asked again
'What...'' She said a bit taken aback by the question
'I mean... Did you fall in love again and marry someone else...'' He asked
'I couldn't remarry because you refused to divorce me remember...'' She said looking at him
'Did I know that you and he were...'' He asked and she knew he was abit jealous which for some reason made her a bit excited
'Uhhh...he and I are not what you think we are although most people would think we are...'' She replied an answer vague as you may like
'So you're not together...'' He asked
'I never said that...'' She said
'So what are you exactly...'' He insisted
'We are really close friends who would do anything for each other. As far as being in love is concerned, I have only ever truly loved one man in my life...'' She said
'And who might that be...'' He asked knowing the answer but just wanted affirmation. She looked at him and just smiled saying
'I think amnesia or not, you already know the answer to that question...'' and he in turned smiled back
'And by the way I have some really important work here so I am so sorry I am probably going to sound so rude but I need you to leave...'' She said apologetically
'What... You're asking me out of your house...'' He said with a smirk on his face
'I am so sorry but yes... I want you to leave. I have this meeting in a half an hour that I can't miss and given my dad won't be in the same room with you, it won't work...'' Said Ishita apologetically
'Oh hell no... I need something in return in order not to be offended by this...'' He said
'Okay what do you want?'' She asked
'You and I dinner... Place of my choice. I get to spend an entire day with you. No work... No phone calls, nothing just you and I...'' He said
'I don't know if...'' As she tried to talk Mihika walked in and said
'They are 30 minutes away Ishu...''
'Okay fine... This weekend I will be there...'' She said and he smiled on agreement before he added
'By the way these people over work you. One would think you actually own the company...'' He joked and she smiled at him before she said
'I actually do... Now go...'' She said as she grabbed his hand and he obliged even though he was still not sure whether she was kidding about the company thing or not and he walked out
Mihir who was irritated and angry given the battering he had just received from Mihika decided to just walk back to the car and stay there until Raman's shenanigans were done. Raman met him in the car surprised that he was and looked pissed
'What the hell happened to you'' Asked Raman
'Nothing I just want to get the hell away from here...'' He said much to Raman's amusement
Shagun also come out from the house with tears in her eyes and the markings of a slap across her face. She sat down in the car and asked the driver
'Let us just go away from here please...'' She said
'And what happened to you...'' Asked Raman
'Why the hell is you face red...'' Said Mihir
'Mama slapped me...'' She said a bit absent minded
'Why would she do something like that'' Said Mihir
'Who is Mama...'' Said Raman
'Mrs. Iyer... She calls her Mama...'' Said Mihir
'She is my mother, she has a right. Please I just want to leave and go home...'' Said Shagun still absent minded
Raman looked at her and all of a sudden this wave of concern showered him. He extended where she was and put his hand around her pulling her in as he comforted her much to her surprise and Mihir's as well.
They drove off and Shagun who was now resting her head on his chest began crying uncontrollably but wouldn't say word. Raman realized that maybe she just needed a good cry and she would tell him when she was ready so he never asked. He instead turned to Mihir and said
'Mihika has really cute adorable children...''
'Mihika what...'' Said Mihir shocked
'You know... Those twins... They are really adorable... And the little boy, Aditya, kind of looks like me which is bizarre'' He said
'What in God's name gave you the idea that those two are Mihika's?'' Asked Mihir absolutely shocked
'They called her mom so I just assumed... Am I missing something again'' Said Raman
'No...'' Said Shagun as she got up looking at him
'Yeah you are... You seriously thought that boy was Mihika's and that girl... She is practically Ishi...'' Mihir tried to speak but Shagun wouldn't let him
'Mihir...'' Shagun called
'Fine... ' Said Mihir holding his hands up
'What...'' Said Raman
'Nothing... Mihir has a habit of mixing up these stories...It is nothing that you need to worry yourself with...'' Said Shagun
'Raman remember, the only version of events that matter should be yours...'' Said Mihir as he turned to his phone leaving Raman wondering and honestly a bit pissed

Raman and Shagun got home after they had dropped Mihir off with his parents waiting for him.
'How did it go...'' Asked Santosh
'How did what go'' He asked
'I know you went at the Iyers, how did it go...'' Santosh asked again
'I see Shagun told you...'' Said Raman looking at Shagun before he said
'It actually went better than I expected but it means the party is off since Ishu is busy and stuff...'' He sad

'Now... I just came to drop Shagun off...'' Said Raman before he turned and walked back out and Shagun who had a lot on her mind didn't have the strength to fight him.
He was having a million things running through his mind and as much as he wanted to play the guy with amnesia who everyone felt pity fall, it broke him inside knowing each and every one of these people knew something about him but almost all of them were unwilling to tell him what was going on. He needed much more than Mihir's help and he knew that. Ishita's disappearing act and what he saw at her place just reaffirmed his stance to do what he was about to do.
He convinced his driver who drove him into town and left him there. He then took a cab and which drove him for a good 30-45 minutes until that place he was going to.
'Excuse me Sir, Can I help you...'' The receptionist asked
'Yes I have an appointment with Doctor Vandu Balla...'' He said
'Oh yes, she has been waiting for you. This way please...'' Said the receptionist who lead him into the doctor's office
'Hey Mr. Bhalla, I was beginning to think you changed your mind'' Said Vandu
'I almost did but after everything, I know if I don't do this I am going to go crazy...'' He said
'So... Are you finally ready for me to help you...'' She said
'On condition nobody knows I am here...'' He said
'Of course... Discretion is something you won't have to worry about.'' She said
'Fine... I just want this to get over and done with already...'' He said a bit frustrated
'Okay now I need to make a few things clear. I am a therapist not a magician. All I can do is help you through what you're going through and hopefully you can be able to cope better when you get those flashes you have been getting. Whether or not you get your memory back is something I can't guarantee...'' She said
'I know...'' He reluctantly agreed sitting down before he added
'Shall we start...'' He added
'We already have Mr. Bhalla...'' She replied
'Raman... Please call me Raman...'' He said
'Okay then... So what do you want to talk about today'' She asked
'I don't know... I just needed to be away from all of them. I know something happened within the space of 7 years that none of them are telling me and today...'' He said before he hesitated and kept quiet
'What happened today'' Vandu asked
'I don't know... It doesn't make sense even'' He said
'What doesn't make sense...'' She asked
'I meet these two kids, I think they are Mihika's although I can't be sure and it is a nagging feeling that I just can't shake'' He said
'What nagging feeling'' she asked
'That... That they are somehow connected to me...'' He said
'Why...? ' She asked
'I don't know...'' He said making Vandu pause for a minute and looking at his reaction before she said
'Why can't they just be Mihika's children'' She asked
'Because she is not married and I know this because she stays with Ishita at my house... No husband would allow that especially when there have kids that young which leaves Ishita...'' He said
'You think they are Ishita's children...'' She asked causing Raman to look at her with worry in his eyes before he said
'I don't know...''
'You don't seem to know a lot of things today...'' Said Vandu
'Look your my therapist, you have known my family for years. You were there for me through the whole incident with the baby, so I must have told you what the hell was going on...'' He said
'That is true but me just telling you will not help in anyway. You don't like it when people tell you what to do but this time you are going to have to listen. If you want to get better and also save your relationship you will have to be patient. What relationship you choose to save will be entirely up to you...Also we talked about you and how you felt after the loss of the baby but not once did you or were you actually willing to share with me what happened between you and your wife. In fact after you two began having problems you stopped coming.'' Said Vandu much to Raman's surprise
'I seriously do not remember this...'' He said
'Then what do you remember...'' Vandu asked
'I came home and Ishita had had the surgery without me...'' Said Raman
'Surgery to remove the stillbaby you mean?'' Said Vandu
'Yes...'' Answered Raman
