SORRY TOOK SO LONG TO POST THIS BUT I WANTED TO FINISH THE OTHER ONE MIRAGE OF SECOND CHANCES FIRST. HOPE YOU ALL WILL ENJOY THIS ONE AS YOU ENJOYED MIRAGE OF SECOND CHANCES. I WILL BE POSTING 4 CHAPTERS TO MAKE UP FOR THE DELAY.

CHAPTER EIGHT

'Okay how about this. My sister's boutique isn't so far away from here and I am pretty sure she is still there. Let us go get you something appropriate to where because I wouldn't want you to miss out at having a good time just because of someone else.'' He said

'No... I couldn't besides I can't afford...'' she tried to talk but he interrupted

'Will you just let me do something nice for you once. I want to do this besides it is the least I can do for what you have been through tonight. Come on...'' He convinced her

'Okay fine...'' She said

'Good... Shall we...'' he said as he showed herthe way they were going.

'Okay you can laugh. I do look ridiculous...'' Said Ishita who knew it was taking everything in him not to burst out into laughter and as she soon as she said it, as if on cue he began

'Even if this was a costume party, really bunny rabbit is the best you could do...'' Said Raman

'I have never been at these kinds of parties so I didn't know what to wear...'' She said as she turned to look at him

'Oh God you're too much sometimes...'' he said laughing some more as he began to tear up causing her to join in

'I swear I haven't laughed this hard in a very long time.'' He added

'Well I am glad I could make you laugh this hard.'' She said as she let out a small laugh

'Hey Raman why are you here this time...'' Said Simmi just before she saw Ishita

'Oh Hey, are you...'' she tried to say something but Raman interfered

'Wardrobe malfunction... Can you help...'' Said Raman

'Of course although I am so going to bill you for this...'' Said Simmi

'It is fine no problem just please help her...'' Said Raman to which Simmi agreed and turned to Ishita saying

'So what do we have here...'' Said Simmi as she came and stood in front of Ishita

'Wait... Your Ishita... as in... the Ishita...'' She added

'Yeah... I am sorry have we met.'' Said Ishita

'No... But, Raman talks a lot about you'' Simmi lied

'Oh really...'' Said Ishita surprised

'Well...'' Simmi tried to talk but Raman interrupted

'Come on we will be late. Hurry up no talking...'' Causing Mihika to laugh as she gave a couple of dresses to Ishita from the rack and asked her to go change

'So I take it that if she is here with you, like this, something is cooking.'' Said Mihika as they both waited on Ishita

'I don't know what that even means'' Said Raman

'Oh please... you know exactly what I am talking about. I have never meant any of your girlfriends...'' Simmi said

'She is not my girlfriend...'' Said Raman

'Why not... You look at her like she is the only living thing in the room. I am surprised you haven't slept with her yet...'' Said Simmi

'What nonsense, I don't just bang anything that moves...'' Said Raman

'Yeah you do...'' Said Simmi

'Okay whatever besides, she is different. I actually really like her. ' he said an declaration that not only surprised his sister but he, himself

'Oh wow... So can I tell dad yet...'' Said Simmi

'What No... She may have other plans or even not like me like that. Let me figure out where she and I are at then we see...'' He said to which Simmi agreed

Ishita walked in with this yellow flora dress that was a V-neck and fitting her perfectly its height just above the knees. She had these cute white pump on and she had let her hair down. Simmi looked at how her brother was staring and she knew, it didn't matter how long Raman tried to brush this off, he was most definitely falling for this girl. Simmi turned and looked at Ishita and saw she was looking really cute except these really big glasses she had on. She walked to where Ishita was and took her glasses off before she went to her draw and removed a couple of glasses.She gave them to Ishita to try them until she landed on ones that she was comfortable with a frame that was much smaller. It was the completion her outfit needed. She humbly thanked Simmi for her help andtogether they walked out with Raman.

'Do I really look that horrible...'' Said Ishita once they got out

'No... What ... No... Why would you think that?'' he asked

'Well you haven't said anything since we got out so I am guessing it is bad.'' She said

'What... Oh God you have no idea how... You look unbelievably beautiful. Trust me... I am actually trying hard not to stare...'' he said letting out a soft laugh. She smiled

'You can stare, I don't mind...'' she said as she pulled her glasses in causing him to turn and look at her as if surprised at what she had said

Raman and Ishita finally made it back to his house and once they got to the door, she sort of stopped walking and stood at the door. He turned to look at her and he could tell she was still a bit nervous.

'Will you come in...'' he asked

'I will... I just...'' she tried to talk but he knew she might end up changing her mind so he took her hand in his and opened the door walking in with her.

When she walked in the place had around 20-25 people and some were already drunk. A few of Raman's friends especially the ones she met at the Ravens were there and she could tell they were staring at her. She held Raman's hand tight almost as if she was trying to draw strength from it and it didn't go unnoticed by him. She then took a deep breath and let go of it

'Hey Ishu you're looking... Wow...'' Said Shlok who had made his way to where they were standing

'Thanks...'' she said smiling as she turned to look at Raman

'Wow... Where the hell did you borrow that...'' Said Shagun but Ishita didn't answer

She just pulled her glasses in and looked away as if she was looking for someone

'And you're a bitch...'' Said Romi to Shagun before she walked to Ishita and said

'Hey... Ignore this one, you look amazing...'' surprising Ishita

'Thank you...'' Ishita answered

'Here let me formally introduce you to everyone am sure Raman won't mind.'' Said Romi grabbing her hand as he looked at Raman

'Am good if she is okay with it. It is not like you all have made it easy...'' Said Raman

'Oh yeah... I am sorry about last time. I can be a bit of an ass when I am drunk. Sorry...'' He said holding his ear before he added

'And I know what you and him are thinking but I swear I had no idea about that. I only found out about it when I heard Shlok tell Raman about it.''

'Is that so... So who was it who made that call then...'' Said Raman

'I think it was Shay or Ally...'' Said Romi

'It is fine, Let us just have fun.'' Said Ishita before Romi took her hand again and took her away

'I will be right back...'' Said Raman leaving Shagun and Romi there

'What was all that about?'' asked Shagun

'I have no idea...'' Lied Shlok as he walked away excusing himself that he was going to get a drink

The party was in full swing and everyone was having a great time. Others were playing beer pong while others where just dancing and then there was the group outside that had a few of Romi and Raman's friends as well as Ishita, Shagun, and Shlok. They decide to play a game of spin the bottle truth or dare and so they were all seated in a circle.Ishita was seated next to Shlok while Shagun sat across from them next to Romi. The game was in full swing and a few dares were put out. The bottle was spun and it landed on Shagun. She choose truth and Romi asked

'Who is the most attractive and sexiest man in the room...''

Shagun who looked around could see Raman making his way into the room as he talked to some of his friends and everything in her body wanted to just scream his name. This is something that didn't go unnoticed by Shlok and Ishita who turned and they could see who she was staring at. She then looked at Shlok who was now looking at her and said

'Shlok of course...''

'OHHH...'' Said the remaining people in the circle but Shlok wasn't impressed at all

The bottle was spun again and this time it landed on Ishita and she was nervous because these people in this circle were a bit drunk and anything they wanted they could do. She however wanted to impress so she played along

'Truth or Dare...'' Ally asked

'Uhhh Dare...'' Said Ishita hesitantly

'Really...'' Asked Shlok surprised

'Yeah why not...'' said Ishita

Romi who could see his brother making his way to the circle decided it was high time he helped him out and drive this thing into motion. He had to think fast and he came up with an idea

'I have a dare...'' he said

'Okay what is it...'' said Ally

'I dare you to kiss the person next to you...'' he said

'What ...'' she said

Ishita was a bit nervous because only Shlok was seated on her right and her left had no one there. Shlok was the only option and one she didn't want

'What the hell...'' Said Shagun

'It is a dare Ishita you have to do it.'' Said Romi

'No way... I am not kissing her. Why would I unbury dead bones...'' Said Shlok but Ishita just looked at him and back at Shagun and said

'Can't I get something else...''

'Nope... This is it and you have to do it.'' Said Ally

'Come on kiss the person next to you...'' Said Romi again

By now Raman had made his way to where they were and took the seat next to Ishita on the left and said

'What did I miss...''

Ishita looked at Shlok and leaned in but she couldn't do it and when she heard Raman's voice, she turned and looked at him. Put out her hand and held his cheek and she leaned in and kissing Raman.

He hesitant at first finally gave in and kissed her back. It took less than 15 seconds but it felt like a century. It felt like heaven, it felt right and felt like it should have been this way all along.

When Ishita finally pulled back and looked at him she realised who she had kissed and realised something very obvious, she had fallen and this was not good given her pending engagement.

Shlok sighed with relief, Shagun fumed with jealous, Romi smiled with pride, Raman leaned back and looked at her surprised that she had actually done that and how amazing it had felt. Ishita looked at him and realised what she had done and began to fidget because everyone was looking at her even the ones who weren't in the game were now staring

'Wow... You go girl...'' Said Romi

Raman wasn't quite sure how to process what had just happened and he knew that this changed a lot of things and if this morning began with him not sure, then he was most definitely sure that he had found the one. Ishita saw that he was just staring at her and she began panicking. She pulled her glasses in and got up saying

'Oh My God I am so sorry...'' and with that she ran out

She could hear people laughing in the background and Shlok calling her but she didn't care she just wanted to get the hell out of that place. She ran out and went to the end of the road and started hailing an auto. It took Raman a minute or two to kind of process what was happening. He looked at Shagun before he got up from his seat and ran after Ishita leaving a very jealous and livid Shagun behind.

By the time Raman made it outside Ishita had already hailed an Auto and had left. He began regretting as to why he didn't just stop her in the first place and as he walked back into his place, he felt a hand pull him aside and taking him to the corner of the house.

'What the hell was that?'' Said Shagun

'What do you mean? I didn't ask for it and even then I am not sorry...'' he said

'What do you mean by that?'' Said Shagun

'What is your problem Shagun? What do you want from me? You and I were a mistake that never should have happened in the first place and I am so sorry that you feel bad right now but there is nothing I can do about it. It was never supposed to be serious and you know that...'' Said Raman

'Oh really... That is not what you told me this morning is it. What is sol great about her anyway...'' Sad Shagun

'I don't know and I feel so bad right now because I have betrayed her trust in so many ways that I don't even think I can... I need to make it right. I have to tell her before anything starts...'' Said Raman

'You are not telling anyone anything you hear me. My relationship is on the line and I will not allow you to screw it up just because you all of a sudden in love and I also won't let you just toss me aside.'' She said

'Whatever Shagun, it was plenty clear what you and I had. There was never a time I asked for more and I don't expect you to ask of me anymore. As far as this morning goes, you showed up here remember...'' he said making his way inside before he turned to her and said

'You know she is your best friend. Shouldn't you have be having some shame or guilt? I know I am...'' He added before he finally made his way inside leaving a stunned Shagun behind

CHAPTER NINE

Shagun was levied and couldn't hide it anymore. She was angry at herself because and also at Ishita even though she knew it was wrong. Ishita was not at fault and neither was Raman but she just wanted what she wanted and didn't appreciate people taking it away from her when she was not ready.

Shlok had seen all this unfolding and he knew in his heart of hearts that something was defiantly off but was just in denial of what it was. He loved Shagun and maybe too much that most of the time she took him for granted.

Shagun loved Shlok there was no doubting that. He was 10 times better than most of the x-boyfriends she even had most of whom treated her like trash. He catered to her every need without hesitation or worry. But this addiction called RKB was eating her up inside to the point that she didn't even realise she was being selfish. He was an amazing lover, better than most she had had and she couldn't get enough nor did she appreciate sharing. This was the thing that would lead to her losing the most important two people in her life.

Shlok quietly drove her back to hostel and he offered to walk her back to hostel. He could tell she was pissed off but he didn't quite know what exactly her deal was and he didn't want to handle it that night because she was a bit drunk.

Once they got into the room, they could see Ishita was still awake and was getting ready for bed.

'Hey Ishu... Are you okay...'' Asked Shlok

'Yeah... I am thanks for asking...'' Said Ishita

'Shlok you can leave now...'' Said Shagun rudely as she walked away

'Wow Is everything fine between you two...'' Ishita asked innocently

'To be honest I don't know...'' Said Shlok

'Well whatever it is I am sure you will work it out. You always do...'' Said Ishita

'Enough about that, tell me about that kiss... Wow I didn't expect that at all. Who knew you had it in you...'' Said Shlok

'Well it was either that or I kiss you and that was an ocean I most definitely didn't want to dive in...'' Said Ishita

'Oh please that is so just an excuse, you wanted to do it. Besides by the look of things seems like you got your answer that is why you ran away...'' Said Shlok laughing

Shagun who had gone to the bathroom came back and stood at the door listening to them talking

'So should I say that you kind of like him now... I mean except the fact that it is obvious...'' Said Shlok and Ishita began blushing profusely

'Are you blushing... Hahahaha I never thought I would get to see that again...'' added Shlok as he laughed at Ishita

'Stop teasing me...'' she said as she tried to hide it but it was too evident even Shagun who had cooled down a little could see it

'Wow you really like him, don't you...'' Said Shagun as she walked out of the bathroom

Ishita smiled at looked at them both before she finally let it out and said

'Yes... I can't believe it but I do. He sweet and kinds and funny and I love spending time with him. He doesn't make me feel like some kind of second fiddle like most people do, I feel safe and happy. I don't know what is happening to me really...'' Said Ishita excited

'Well my dear this is what usually happens when...'' Shlok said before Shagun completed

'You're in love...''

'Nah it can't possibly be... really ...'' Said Ishita as she looked at them before she sat back on the bed as if lost in thoughts before she suddenly said

'Wait what if he doesn't feel the same? Ohhh and there is that small fact...''

'What fact...'' Said Shlok but Ishita just stayed there with a worried look on her face and didn't say a thing

Shagun looked at Shlok and signalled him not to push the issue because she knew exactly what Ishita was talking about, her pending marriage proposal. She tool Shlok's hand and together they walked outside leaving Ishita inside seated on the bed

'What is that all about'? Is she okay...'' Said Shlok

'Yeah she will be fine...'' Said Shagun

'And are we okay?'' he asked

'What... Of course we are, what sort of question is that?'' Said Shagun as she tried to hold Shlok but he pulled away

'Shlok what is it...'' she asked as she began getting worried

'I am not blind Shagun, Someone is wrong with you and I have been trying to figure out what that is since you won't talk to me but I failed. Then I saw your face when Ishita kissed him and they way he looked at you before he walked out and I knew something was off.'' He said

'Shlok... Please just... Shlok...'' Said Shagun who was scared that he had found out

'I am really trying and I am hoping that my eyes are just playing tricks on me and I am fighting for my head not to go to the worst possible thing because Shagun I swear if you're cheating on me I swear...'' he said as he fought back his tears and she could see it

'Shlok I swear nothing is going on. Nothing is happening... I don't know why he looked at me I can't reason on his behalf but you have to trust me please...'' She said getting teary

'Then how do you explain you and him outside his house after you walked out? What were you two talking about...'' Said Shlok as he looked at her and he could see she was getting scared

Shagun knew she had to think fast because her relationship was going to come to an end if she didn't come up with something believable.

'Look I swear nothing is going on between us. He kissed me once at the Ravens we were drunk and it just happened and nothing else Shlok I swear. He talked to me outside his house because he felt bad that he kissed me ad yet he had developed feelings for Ishita and thought that maybe he might tell her. I told him that she would feel bad and t was just one stupid drunken kiss that didn't even have an importance so he shouldn't hurt her let alone jeopardise that relation just because of that...'' Said Shagun

Wait a minute what... What do you mean you kissed...'' Said Shlok

'It was one very meaningless stupid drunken kiss that meant absolutely nothing Shlok please you have to believe me...'' Said Shagun as tears began to fill her eyes because she could see she was losing him and this is a feeling that as she was finding out was scarier than she thought.

'If it was so meaningless then why didn't you tell me...'' Said Shlok

'Because I didn't think it was important...'' Said Shagun

'It was important enough for you not to tell me about it. I need to think... I can't even...'' he said throwing his hands up before he walked away leaving Shagun calling out his name as she cried

Shagun walked back inside completely distort and Ishita who was still in her own world was quite surprised at this because it wasn't a scene that was usual.

'Shagun... What happened?'' Ishita asked but Shagun was way too broken to say anything and also scared because reality finally hit her, If Shlok was acting like this because of some kiss, imagine what would happen when he found out what exactly happened that night at the Ravens.She just fell in Ishita's arms and cried.

Three Days Later

Ishita had gone for her tutor classes as usual and given how exams were fast approaching everyone she tutored wanted an extra lesson here and there and she being her would always agree to help. She had not had a chance to talk to Raman about that kiss and to be honest she didn't want to and just wanted to avoid the whole conversation all together.

She summed up with her tutor class for the day and quickly packed her bags and headed out because she was exhausted and just wanted a nice meal given the fact that she was starving and also she needed to just relax a bit. When she made it out of class she heard a voice that was all too familiar

'Oh wow so you're alive...'' Said Raman

'What...'' she said startled that he was standing right behind her

'No... I thought alien had taken you or kidnapped you. I was about to file a police report and everything...But since you're here am guessing you have just been avoiding me'' He said smiling and she smiled back saying

'Ha-ha very funny plus I wasn't avoiding you. I have just been really busy that's all'' Said Ishita as she pulled her books holding them to her chest before pulling her glasses in

'Busy avoiding me you mean...'' He insisted

'I haven't been avoiding you. You do realise exams are here and...'' she tried to make an excuse but even she wasn't buying it and neither was he

'Oh please, that is the most lame excuse in the book. Even you cannot possibly thing that it will work...'' he said as he came stood in front of her and took her books from her hand

'What are you doing...'' she said

'Oh hijacking you, you and I are going for lunch and we need to address the elephant in the room because in all honesty I miss my friend.'' He said before he pulled her glasses in for her and walked to his car

Ishita shaking her head followed him thanking God that he was persistent when it came to things he liked and if she was being honest even she missed him more than she led on.

They got into the car and quietly drove away to a restaurant all the while stealing glances at each other but not saying a thing. Ishita grabbed a hold of her bag and looked out the window all the while she could see Raman in the corner of her eyes looking at her as he smirked almost as if he could tell she was uncomfortable and he was enjoying it.

They got to the restaurant and ordered Ishita still quiet fighting hard not to look at him. He pulled the flower vase in the middle of the table a side as it was obstructing his view before he sat back his hands on his chest and looked at her

'Your really adorable when you try to hide that blush. It is fine you know... Bunny Ears...'' He said to which she looked at him her mouth open in an o-shape

'What did you call me...'' She said

'Oh you talk...'' He said

'Stop trying to be smart and don't call me that. It is embarrassing already as it is...'' she said letting out a soft laugh

'Sorry... It is just that I just can't take that image out of my head. Besides you seem a bit uneasy around me and I don't like that. It makes me feel guilty... Like I did something wrong...'' he said looking at her

'Why would you feel guilty, I am the one who kissed you...'' she said looking right back at him

'Yeah true but I didn't stop you. I could have but I didn't and I also did kiss you back. So ... Should I feel guilty? Should I have stopped you...'' he asked frankly still looking at her

''Did you want to stop me?'' she asked

'Honestly... I didn't want you to stop...'' he said looking at her and the waiter interrupted

He brought their food and put it on the table and Ishita got a chance to look away as she hide her smile and elation because she couldn't believe this was actually happening. The waiter walked off and when she looked across the table she could see he was still looking at her.

'Why didn't you ask me to stay...'' she suddenly asked

'I wasn't quite sure what to say because you just ran away. Plus I thought you regretted it. Do you regret it...'' he asked again. She looked at him and smiled before she turned over her plate as she shaking her head indicating NO

Raman could see her face light up like the colour of burgundy and he felt his heart jump up and down like it was on steroids. Like his body had got a motive of its own he got up from the seat he was in and leaned over to her side.

Ishita who was looking down as she unfolded her napkin felt his hand on her chin and when she looked up he was so close to his she could feel his breath on her skin. He smiled a little before he leaned in some more and placed his lips on hers.

He kissed her again not even caring about his surroundings he slowly moved from his seat his lips still on hers and finally made his was to her side placing his hand on the nape of her neck and he kissed her some more in a more passionate and personal way.

He finally pulled back placing his head on hers as she held his hands that were on her nape and they stayed there for a couple of seconds. The people in the restaurant started applauding and this brought them back to their senses making them more aware of their surroundings. Raman walked back to his seat as Ishita smiled and took the napkin again placing it on her thighs as she hid her totally flushed face.

'So... Shall we eat...'' he said letting out a soft laugh as he saw how shy she had become

They enjoyed their meal and enjoyed each other's company because everything was laid out to bear and whatever happens would happen, all they were intending to do was enjoy these last few weeks in the bubble they were clearly in.

They enjoyed their meal and he finally drove her back to her hostel. This had been the best time Ishita had had since she joined college. He made her feel like he was on top of the world and that everything that she thought she knew about what love should be like had gone through the window because this felt ten times better than that.

'I had an unbelievable time...'' She said

'Good... At least maybe this time you won't run away...'' he said teasing her

'Raman...'' she said as she slapped him playfully

'I swear the sound of my name on your lips is the sexiest thing I have ever heard.'' He said clearly teasing her because she was way too shy and that is a sight that he loved.

She just smiled and opened the door walking out of the car and he followed suit.

'Have you always been this flirtatious ...'' she asked

'Yes... I don't know why it took you this long to catch on. Finally my efforts have not been in vain...'' he said playfully causing her to laugh.

He saw her laugh and he could tell she was genuinely happy and that made him extremely happy because he sensed this was going to be a journey he was looking forward to.

'I have to go, have a few things to catch up on...'' he said

'Oh Okay... Thanks for my meal, I really enjoyed it.'' She said

He came forward and put his arms around her and she in turn hugged him as she felt the comfort of his embrace. He slowly pulled out and made his way to her lips as he kissed her again holding her waist as she in turn pulled him in sinking her fingers through his hair and to hold him there as she enjoyed the passion in his kiss.

They finally pulled out for much needed air as Raman pulled her in for another hug before he let go saying

'Wow... You're one amazing kisser...''

'You're not so bad yourself...'' she answered as she looked at him pulling her glasses in

He looked at her and let out a soft laugh realizing that this girl affected him in more way than he could explains and in more ways that she could even begin to imagine. His father was right, she was indeed amazing.

'I need to get going because I am pretty sure my blood supply is going to the wrong direction...'' he said smirking

What...'' she said not believing what he had said. He threw his head back laughing at her reaction before he added

'Good Night bunny ears...'' and she answered

'You're not going to stop calling me that...Are you...?''

'Nope...'' he said as he got into his car. Ishita shaking her head replied

''Fine... Good night and drive safe...'' and he smiled at her and drove away

Meanwhile things with Shagun had gone from bad to worse, Shlok was completely angry with her and even she knew this was different. They would have fights but they would never last a day or two, they always found a way to make it up and talk to each other except this time it was different. He was really hurt and she didn't know what to do.

Every time she tried to talk to time he blatantly ignored her and every time she went over to talk to him he would just ignore her something that didn't sit well with her. She hated it when she wasn't the centre of his life and normally he didn't mind that because he loved her but this time, it was different, he had to put a stop to it.

Shagun had had enough and just wanted all this to stop. She had gone over to his place to make things right and was going to force him talk no matter what

'Shlok stop ignoring me and open the door...'' she said

'What do you want Shagun... Make it snappy I have to show up for this birthday party...'' he said

'So what... We are now over... Why are you ignoring me...'' Said Shagun

'Because I am pretty sure if I say how I feel, it may get from bad to worse so I need some space.'' He said

'Shlok I said I am sorry, I don't know what else you want me to do. What can I do to make this better...'' she said

'You know what hurts the most in all this is the fact that you're the one who messed up and yet you have been treating me like shit. Forget me... Those hurtful things you keep on saying to Ishita were all because of that kiss. I know it... and I know in my heart there is something you're not telling me that is worse than this.'' He said

'What has Ishita got to do with us? And besides nothing more than that stupid kiss. I was drunk Shlok I am sorry... I honestly am sorry and I love you, you know that...'' she said

'I love you too Shagun, more than you know but I am starting to wonder if that is ever going to be enough...'' he said before he grabbed the gift that was on the table and walked away

'Wait just... Okay can you at least give me a chance to prove myself? Please... We can go out... How about I do something for you? I really want to make this up to you but I don't know how...'' she said as she began to tear up

'Well for starters you can't bribe your way out of this. It doesn't work that way and second if you cared as much as you claim you would realise I never go out ever on this day because I spend it with my family...'' Said Shlok

'Why...'' Asked Shagun who had completely forgot

Before Shlok could answer his phone buzzed and he bent down to pick up seeing as to who was calling

'Hey Ishu...'' he said surprising Shagun

'Hey Shlok... Did you get my gift?'' Ishita asked

'Yeah I did but I haven't opened it yet...'' he said

'Come on open it, I was so excited... Come on...'' Insisted Ishita

Shlok put his phone on speaker and put it down opening the gift. In the box there were two tickets to a cricket match that India was playing with Australia and also an Indian Cricket Jersey

'Oh Wow... Thank you so much... How the hell did you even get a hold of these...'' he asked genuinely surprised

'Well I pulled some strings. Besides you did something similar for me on my birthday I figured why not return the favour? You like it...'' she asked

'Yeah I love it, thank you so much.'' He said

'My pleasure and Happy Birthday...'' said Ishita before hanging up

Shagun realised that it was his birthday and he spent it with his family every year because it was tradition. She couldn't believe that she had forgotten something so important for him and them because they celebrated their anniversary on the same day.

Shlok hang up the phone and turned to look at Shagun before he walked to his draw and removed a jewel box that he handed to Shagun

' I know you have forgotten, Like you have been doing for the last three years and like always I am the one who remembers. I genuinely hope that one day you will realise that I am enough for you Shagun...'' he said handing her the gift before he walked away as he added

'I need to get ready, I will talk to you later.'' Making his way into his room

Shagun, who should have been coming up with ways to make things okay between them try and make her relationship better instead like always transferred blame and began feeling angry that Ishita was trying to upstage her in her relationship,.

She began having all these crazy thoughts that maybe Ishita was indeed still in love with Shlok and this entire Raman faade was just a ploy to act as destruction. Instead of taking responsibility of what she had done wrong and try and be remorseful, she instead wanted revenge.

CHAPTER 10; SCROLL DOWN

CHAPTER TEN

Things had drastically changed in a couple of weeks between these friends and also in their lives. Ishita's relationship with Shagun had greatly turned for the worst and most of the time Shagun was always rude to her on way or the other.

It was becoming a bit of a problem and Ishita dreaded going back to hostel just out of frustration of not wanting to deal with Shagun. Raman came as a much needed destruction and he provide that in plenty. He loved spending time with her and she loved spending time with him and every time it become too much for her at hostel, he would come and whisk her away.

She had told him about how bad their relationship with Shagun had gotten and he knew or thought he had an idea of what was going on because Ishita was clueless and each time he wanted to tell her about it he saw how she looked at him and how hard she was falling in love with him as he was falling in love with her and it become harder and harder by the day. They were so good together that it sacred him to even think of hurting her let alone losing her. Although as they say, all bubbles are bound to burst sooner or later

Exams were just a week away and all of them were in the same study group. Ishita knew that the reason Shagun was being so mean had to do with the fact that something had happened between her and Shlok and she probably shouldn't have meddled but being the kind of friend she was wanted to help and decided to meddle.

She and Raman had already made their way to where the study group was to be held and they were just waiting on a few people to show up including Shlok who was running late. Shagun had already made her way and she was comfortably seated ignoring Ishita.

Shlok finally walked in and when he saw where Shagun was sitting, like out of instinct he went and sat next to her only for Shagun to walk away and sit next to the one person she knew he hated, Raman. Ishita saw this and felt bad so she began grabbing her books, organising them as she got ready to leave

'Where are you going'' whispered Raman

'I am going to be a good friend. Come on you can survive without me for a couple of hours.'' She said smilingly

'Yeah but I don't want to...'' he said but Ishita just smiled at him and walked over to where Shlok was seating next to him.

The discussion began most of the things that needed to be revised where handled. The discussion went surprisingly well with no tantrums thrown what so ever. After a bout 4 -5 hours everyone was exhausted and just wanted to rest and get enough time to personally prepare for the exams that were due the following week. Ishita and Shlok talked to a couple of students who were still asking about a few things while Raman quietly waited for her.

'So can we leave now...'' he said

Today was supposed to be important for them, he was going to tell her about everything and hope that she was okay with it. Not the issue with Shagun but the agreement with his father and the fact that his meeting her was not necessary a coincidence.

Ishita turned and looked at Shlok which pissed off Shagun and she ended up saying

'If she is not willing to go with you, I can. I am after all starving.''

Ishita just looked at her and ignored turning to Shlok as she said

'Don't go.. Wait for me...'' Then she took Raman's hand and took him to the side

'Wow your friend doesn't really like me...'' Said Raman once they got to the end of the room

'Yeah I noticed. Did you do something wrong?'' asked Ishita jokingly but Raman went pale as he answered

'Of course not... I don't know why...'' he lied

'Okay... Here is the plan, I really want to find out what the problem is and I want to fix whatever is happening. My best friend is miserable and I kind of miss her so here is the deal. You go with Shagun and try and talk to her because she clearly listens to you and I will go with Shlok because he most definitely won't talk to you or to me with you there.'' Said Ishita

'Why don't you just leave them figure this out themselves...'' Said Raman

'Because they are my friends and I can see they are both miserable. Just please... Can you do this for me...'' Said Ishita

'Okay fine... But promise me that you will show up at the restaurant. I really need to tell you something important.'' He said to which she hugged him excitedly and said

'Thank you so much... I will show up, promise...'' and with that the plan was made

Shagun made her way into Raman's car while Ishita took Shlok's car and off they went to the restaurant Raman was talking about. Ishita knew in order to get to the bottom of this matter, she had to pry

'What the hell is going on Shlok...'' she said

'What do you mean?'' he asked

'Don't play dumb. What is going on between you and Shagun? She is miserable and I know she tried to hide it when you're around but I tell you she is miserable and I am at the receiving end of that rage. What happened'' Said Ishita

'Look it is nothing that should worry you. I and Shagun are just not at the same page...'' he said

'What the hell does that even mean Shlok...'' she said

'Ishita... You're a good friend and I hope for your sake your never heart heartbroken.'' He said

'Okay what the hell happened between you two. I have never seen two people more in love than you two. How can you come from that to world war III in a face of 3 weeks? It doesn't make sense...'' Said Ishita

Meanwhile back in Raman's car he wasn't too happy with the way this day was turning out to be. He wanted it to be special for them and yet he was caught in the middle of a relationship that wasn't even his fault.

'Shagun what the hell happened between you two anyway...'' he asked

'Nothing... Just drive besides you should be thanking me instead. Ishita is very smothering...'' Said Shagun

'Don't... Insult me all you want but leave her out of this.'' He said

'Wow you must really like her then huh... You think she is a saint don't you...'' Shagun said

'What is that supposed to mean?'' Said Raman

'Whatever... Besides when are you coming over again...'' she said as she leaned into him and tried to kiss him

'What the hell is the matter with you. First of all, that is never going to happen and second I am driving. What is up with you'' he said irritated

''Oh your such a bore now. What happened when you fell in love you call fell off too...'' She said as threw her head back laughing

'Something is seriously wrong with you...'' Said Raman

'I don't see what the big deal is anyway. It is not like you and her are going to last anyway. I mean given she is about to...'' Shagun said but she held her tongue

'About to what...'' he said but she just looked away

'You talk about her like she is stainless. I see the way you look at her like is the biggest saint in the world. Please if only you know...'' Shagun ended up saying

'If you want to say something then say it stop beating around the bush. What is your problem with Ishita anyway? She is trying to fix your relationship and you're here bad mouthing her...'' Said Raman

'Oh please, whatever she is doing isn't for my good. You do know that she had a humongous crush on Shlok. She only gave up because he was never going to like her as he did me. She is always trying to be the nice on in his eyes. It quite pathetic actually...'' Said Shagun carelessly and Raman's jealous mind began brewing

Back in Shlok's car, Ishita wasn't letting sleeping dogs lie and she innocently thought she was doing something good not knowing she was just opening up a can of worms

'Come on there has to be something that happened for you not to be together right now. So are you two broken up now...'' Said Ishita

'I don't know what or where we are right now. She is not happy with me Ishita and I don't know what to do to fix it. Our issues have been around but I have just been tolerant because I love her. She always finds faults with things I do and besides I don't think she is interested anymore...'' He said

'Oh that is a bunch of bullshit and you know it. Shagun loves you Shlok, she may have a funny way of showing it but she does love you. Just don't give up on her yet.'' She said as she adjusted herself in the seat to face Shlok and in the process ended up but dialling Raman's number

Raman once he saw Ishita was calling parked his car and picked up the call finding a conversation in the middle

'Sometimes the things we love are the hardest to get and sometimes we have to compromise in ways we don't really want but in the end may be the best thing. Right now it is hard for you but just hang in there. We will find a solution to this just hang in there and work through it...'' Said Ishita

'Sometimes I feel like I really messed up you know...'' Said Shlok

'How is that...?'' asked Ishita

'I feel like I liked the wrong girl and that is shame on me for falling in love with the wrong roommate ...'' He said much to Ishita's shock and she sat back adjusting herself as she looked in front ended up hanging up on Raman

'Shlok please, your only saying that because you angry. And you can't help who you love and it most definitely wasn't me...'' Said Ishita

'Yeah... Sorry...'' he said feeling guilty

'No... It is fine. I understand. Let's just get the restaurant, we will talk to her when we get there...'' Said Ishita

Raman who had heard a part of this conversation let his head go to the worst possible place and refused to listen to his heart. He began thinking of Ishita doing exactly what he and Shagun had been doing and his head went to the worst possible place.

Shlok's car had a punctured tire and he and Ishita took a longer to get to the restaurant than they anticipated which only made the situation worse.

Raman reached the restaurant and waited for Ishita to show up and she was taking longer than anticipated to show which just made jealous Raman worse. His sister made her way to the restaurant and so did Romi plus a few friends.

Shagun could see Raman was wound up and she knew she had done her job perfectly. In all honesty even she wasn't ready for the volcano that was about to erupt. She didn't mean to really cause a lot of trouble, or at least she thought she wasn't going to. She just did this for two simple reasons, to make Shlok jealous because in her own twisted way if she showed him that others fancied her then he would care more and come crawling back and the second reason was to just make sure she remained with the cool status at compass and hanging with Raman give her that also pretty much meant she was still the one more than Ishita.

Ishita and Shlok made their way into the restaurant were done with their meal. She stood at the door way and tried to find out where they were seated as Shlok walked over to the counter to ask.

'Hey Raman, Isn't that your girl...'' Said Simmi who had spotted them causing everyone at the table to turn and look at them

Ishita made her way to where they were excited that she got to meet Simmi and Romi again after a long time.

'Oh hi Simmi... Romi ...'' Said Ishita

'Hey...'' Simmi answered

'Hey Raman, Sorry I am last you won't believe what happened...'' she said but Raman interrupted

'I really hate it when people keep me waiting. You didn't want to share a meal with me you would have just stayed away.'' He said

'What is your problem again?'' asked Ishita

'My problem is you... Why are you here anyway...'' Said Raman slightly irritated

'Because you invited me to be here! Okay I am not sure what it is happening. Are we are arguing right now. What the hell are we fighting about exactly?'' asked Ishita

'Ishita will you just calm down ...Hey dude it is my fault; I am the reason we are late. I actually'' Said Shlok but Raman interrupted

'Don't call me dude and no one was talking to you...'' Raman said

'And your one to talk I never knew you were so good at throwing yourself on anything that moved. I mean come on really...Of all people her...'' Said Shagun

'Shagun behave your-self and show a little respect...'' Said Romi

'Raman, have I done something...'' Asked a visibly hurt Ishita

'Yeah... You and your friend here need to have your meal somewhere else.'' He said

'Raman, come on...'' Shlok tried to talk but Shagun interrupted

'Didn't you hear him. He said leave...'' Shagun said

Ishita knew something was happening and clearly she was in the middle of it although she wasn't quite sure what the hell was going on. She looked at them shaking her head before she tapped Shlok's shoulder and they took another table instead. Ishita could see this really hurt Shlok and it was sad to see what her best friend was throwing away.

'Don't let that get to you. She can be a little crazy at times but she cares about you, you know that...'' said Ishita who could see Shlok was getting upset

'Yeah well, I am not so sure about that anymore.'' He answered

Shagun turned to everyone at the table who was genuinely surprise at what had just happened and said

'Well I for one am in the mood for desert. We should order...''

'I agree, all this tension and bitterness needs some cooling and serious sweetness.'' Said Romi as he raised his hand asking for the waiter to come over

Simmi who was a silent viewer in all this looked at how Shagun was casually taking this and knew something wasn't right and Shagun as a bucket load of trouble. She turned to her brother and said

'A hurricane is coming Raman, make sure your not caught off guard. You might loss everything.''

'What does that mean...'' Said Shagun curiously

'It means your trouble and Raman needs to be careful. See I don't like you very much...'' Said Simmi

She was a very frank and brutally honest human being, something her brothers clearly lacked. Shagun just looked at her before she looked away ignoring Simmi because she already had a lot on her plate to look for more trouble.

'So exams huh... Who is ready...'' Said Romi trying to change the topic

'I am doing well reparation wise although they are stressing me yaar...'' she said as she leaned into Raman which didn't go unnoticed by Ishita and Shlok who were seated across the room on a different table

'Yeah tell me about it...'' Raman said leaning into Shagun before he turned and continued looking at Ishita who was ordering her food as well as Shlok

'Hey Raman any plans today...'' said Shagun

'No... Not really... Exams and all so I have toned down on the outings...'' he answered looking at Ishita one last time before he gave his attention to Shagun

'Oh yeah right...'' she said embarrassed as she took her dessert from the waiter who had brought it

'Uhhh shouldn't you go be with your boyfriend...'' asked Simmi

'Yeah well not that he will mind...'' she said completely ignoring that judgemental stared she was getting from everyone at that table.

Shlok looked at Shagun and how comfortable she was not caring about him and let out a hurtful laugh before he turned to Ishita and said

'I am not the perfect of boyfriends but I try right...''

'Yeah... I guess why... What is it?'' she said

'I mean I have tried, I give her everything she asks of me, I go above and beyond than most boyfriends but even I have a breaking point.'' He said looking straight at Raman's table

'Shlok maybe we should go elsewhere. You don't make a decision in haste...'' said Ishita who could sense what was coming

'No...I don't deserve this nonsense. I am getting really tired of it...'' he said looking at their table one last time before he looked away.

Shlok just...'' Ishita tried to talk but instead he signalled the waiter ignoring her

'What is happening? Where are you going'' Said Ishita but Shlok ignored her

'Yes how can I be of assistance...'' Said the waiter

'Please tell that lady over there that I would really love to talk to her. Tell her it is really important that I in fact talk to her...'' said Shlok giving the waiter a tip

Ishita probably should have said something to try and calm the situation down but she didn't even know where to begin because Shagun had this coming for a while now but Shlok in his pissed state was in no way ready to handle this.

The waiter obliged given his generous tip and he humbly walked over to Raman's table conveying the message he had for Shagun. Shlok could see with the way she was answering the waiter that she wasn't probably going to join them and wanted to see out of curiosity what she had to say.

As the waiter walked away Raman called him back tipping him to and saying something before he walked back to their table

'Sorry Sir she says she is in no mood to talk to people like you. He says she s not interested anymore. Oh and the other Sir says that next time, you should learn how to tip better and may should learn to buy the lady something worthwhile even though none of you deserve it. Oh and he asked me to give you this...'' Said the waiter putting his hand out as he handed Shlok a 1000 rupees note.

Shlok was so pissed that he didn't even know what to do, say or react that he just ended up chuckling as he smiled looking at them. He got his wallet and paid for his food and Ishita's before walking out of the restaurant.

Ishita couldn't believe what was happening much less the behaviour of both Raman and Shagun. Whatever had just happened was so not called for. She unlike Shlok was not going to just walk out because it made her maybe angrier than anyone else given she was somehow in the middle of all this. They both were wrong on so many levels.

She walked over to Raman's table pissed as hell and whatever was about to happen not even Shagun could see coming. Raman had turned away from their table expecting Shlok to do something in response so when he felt someone tap his shoulder he turned expecting to see Shlok not Ishita.

'Ishi...'' he tried to call her name but he could see she wasn't having it

Raman could see her normally calm demeanour had changed and one could tell she was gunning for blood. It surprised him a little but because he could tell her face was all contorted with anger. She looked at him for a second or two and before he knew it her palm smacked his cheek leaving behind a pain so stinging felt like an insect bite.
