Any day I will prefer SLB over RS. His film may be OTT, the script may be weak ,but RS is not better than him. But the mass will prefer mindless comedy than the films like Bajirao Mastani , top of that in Dilwale the lead pair is Kajol and Srk .
Bajiroa may get awards , critical acclaim , but will it win the race ? I am not confident in that . Anyway I trust the script sense of Dp and priyanka.

What is better is subjective firstly.

Period movies are really really tricky - the problem with SLB is that his love for aesthetics is often so overbearing that the story can be zzz . Again that's my opinion. I find most of his movies long and tiresome.This is why I find very few Hindi period movies appealing because they immediately turn into musicals instead of movies.

Yeah Rohit Shetty has made some awful movies but I fully enjoyed CE/Singham/Golmaal . The man is not to be underestimated and he is unabashedly himself. He has a trademark movie style and people do love and remember his movies, so really it would be presumptuous to disregard him so early.

CE is my favorite "commercial" BW movie. That film was charming, funny and had a killer performance by Deepika,,..Dilwale looks like something that will click with family audience. SRK-Kajol chemistry after so many years is bound to be a big selling point. And Varun and Kriti are well loved youngsters... I am expecting a lighthearted, entertaining film with lots of colorful songs and dances... I dont see why this cant become the next ATBB...

As for BM...Yes the stills look impressive. But SLB films have always been about sets, costumes, and curtains.. Even Saawariya looked wow in the trailers...but we all know how the film went... I will put it out straight, I think SLB is a bad director and I am not expecting BM to be a well directed film. When was the last time SLB made a good film?? Saawariya, Black and Guzaarish were snoozefests while RL and Devdas were OTT...BM can only be saved if the cast delivers good performances..
