Also, Lord Krishna spoke at length and depth on what is "righteous" and what's on the right side of it. That's exactly what makes Geeta such an interesting and universal book. It deals more with morality and less with religion. I'd say Vedas are far more religious as books than Geeta or even Bhagvat. ( Not saying Vedas are not universal , just more religious. )
Perhaps he knew in his infinite wisdom that a time will come when people will try to interpret what is righteous and right in ways that benefits them so he made plenty sure there's not any grey area to it.
