*Chapter Three~ Cake and Moans*
(not edited... Will proof read later!)

"Why are you ignoring me?" I heard Randhir say, as I fixed the liquid nitrogen test tube on its appropriate equipment.
This lab partner of mine just loves to ask the most pointless questions at times like such. "Hi! I randomly intruded in to your life and continuously criticised you about everything you do from the way you talk to the way you fix your hair. I think you are an opportunist and like to throw heavy objects on your back, so that you can look at the bruise and remember me by"
Do you really think any girl would talk to such a dickhead?
"Why would you say that? If I was ignoring you, I would have not been standing here, next to you, doing this experiment" I said keeping my eyes glued to the fluctuating thermometer in front of me.
"Don't you think you should stop saying things that no one believes you for" His voice rising oh-so slightly in the volume.
After working with this idiot for months, I would like to think that I know this dickhead that much to realise when his voice levels are rising. He hates it when people ignore him, I gulped.
"Don't you think I know what you are doing?"
"I have no idea what you are talking about... I th- -" The rest on my sentence got stuck in my throat as I felt his hand gripping mine, forcing me around to face him.
"What the hell do you think you are doing" I gritted through my teeth.
"Stop ignoring me! I saw you at the station today; I even got up to offer you my seat. Yet you walked past and ignored me like I was some smelly stranger, who could use a shower. You have been skipping basketball rounds, only talking to Parth and Sahil. And during labs, you won't even look at me!"
His grip continued to tighten around my arm at his every word. I bet there is going to be another mark today, I thought as I struggled under his grasp.
"Please leave my hand; otherwise people might think you are taking advantage of me." I said realising his grip had loosened over my hand.
"That was uncalled for! Look that was mistake; I never wanted to hurt you like that. Parth told me the same day. I never wished things to get out of control like that. I urr"
I rolled my eyes and wriggled out of his grasp, "I don't care Randhir."
*BANG*
"Oh for f**ks' sake!" We both cursed the same line, as another test tube broke.
"So it is you two again! Randhir and Sanyukta! Why are you both destructive together? You manage to break the most unbreakable things at times! Have you gone one experiment without breaking anything?"
"Actually yes Calvin! I never quite broke your head" Randhir said to the boy sitting next to us, offering snide remarks.
I struggled to keep a straight face, as Calvin's face flushed off its entire colour and he turned around to his bench.
Without another word, both of us got to working on the experiment again, as our demonstrator rolled his eyes at us yet again. Some lab partners we are, I thought as I rolled my eyes. We can break pretty much everything and anything while fighting each other from test tubes to each other's heads.
"Sanyukta aren't you forgetting something?" He said ignoring my gaze.
"What makes you think that Randhir? I am not forgetting anything, if anyone is forgetting anything, it's their brain." I said as quietly as I could while measuring out the proportion of liquid nitrogen.
"So effing smart you are! What I am afraid you are wrong this time around! Oh! Ego got bruised did it?" Randhir said pushing me along the bench, just so he could access the main working area.
"What the eff was that for?" I asked pushing him equally; unfortunately my strength was asleep that day, as he refused to budge even a millimetre.
"You two at it again?" Parth said rolling his eyes, as he practically forced me apart from strangling Randhir to his death.
"He started it!" I said pointing my finger at Randhir who looked around amused.
As Parth looked at Randhir for an explanation, Randhir just shrugged his shoulders and said, "I was trying to tell her that she is forgetting her glasses! If something happens to Miss Ego Head's perfect twenty-twenty vision, she will never be able to see my handsome face again. And let's face it; it's the only thing good about her life."
I gulped as I put on my lab glasses and avoided the boys' amused gaze.
Yeah, well eff you too!

"You have no idea how much I have been waiting for this day to come! Finally no more chemistry lab, where I have to worry about hazardous chemicals falling on my face!" I said excitedly as Parth made a face at my choices in life.
"I would take a bunch of chemicals any day!" Parth said cringing at the anatomy labs which contained cadavers ranging from "just in" to the "aged".
Following his gaze, I sneaked up behind and whispered, "You know they said that the first years students who get a heart with hole in it, can never ever sleep a peaceful sleep ever again. Ever"
Parth looked at me with horrid eyes, it was safe to say that Mr HotShot was about to wet his pants.
"Want me to get you some diapers?" I said unable to control my laughter any longer.
"That was not funny you brat" Parth said as he punched me across the shoulders, as I doubled over in laughter.
As we were ushered in the lab, I saw Randhir waiting for me at the bench, and he looked disturbed.
"Why do you always have to be first in everything? Even punctuality?" I said snapping my fingers in front of his face.
"I like being first" He gulped, still not removing his gaze from the heart that was situated in front of us.
And then it clicked! And what a moment it was!
"You are scared aren't you?" I said, involuntarily my mouth hanged open in shock.
"No! I am just distracted by the black heart worm that is coming out of the aorta" He said again gulping, making it clear that dissections and lying were clearly not his forte.
I looked to see the "black heart worm" and laughed!
"Randhir! Seriously?! It's just coagulated blood! Relax, it is not a contaminated heart!" I continued to laugh, though the glare on his face was enough to shut anyone up.
I bit my lip and looked around the room and again burst out laughing.
"Look I don't know what you are finding so funny, but please shut up. And I think I am going to sit this one out, do whatever you want to do, just don't make me fail this practical"
Even when he is scared, he doesn't let off his damned ego, I snorted and started to dissect the heart as per instructions.
Every now then and then, I would look up to find a disgusted Randhir, whose face resembled a persons' with constipation.
In short- - Amazing!
~*~
"What is this for?" I said taking out my earphones and looking at the cake packet in front of my eyes.
"Take it as a piece offering and also for dissecting today" Randhir said meekly, as he shuffled on to the seat next to me on the train home.
"Piece offering and you? Don't you think it's a little ambitious?" I snorted, pushing the cake away from me.
Only my Gods knew how I hard I had resisted to engulf the cake in its finest glory, as the icing glistened and beckoned me to devour its richness. Upon reading my erratic thoughts for the cake, my stomach made a mating call of a whale which had been "deprived" of action for many years.
I could give a pregnant lady a run for her money when it comes to food, I thought as my stomach grumbled again.
Upon hearing the uproar coming from my stomach, Randhir smirked and pushed the cake in front of me yet again.
"Do you think I trust you? It could be poisoned!" I said pushing it away.
"Well it's not! I am afraid only you could come up with ideas like such" He snorted.
"No Thank You! I am dieting"
"Yea! I can clearly see that!" He said while picking up the wrappers of the chocolate I had just devoured before he came and sat to me.
"See it's perfectly fine and heavenly" He moaned as he took the first eat of the cake.
I hate you! I thought as he continued to make those noises while the commuters looked at us with quizzical and slightly disgusted facial expressions. The urge to devour the delicious cake in front of me, got stronger by the passing second and sound.
"Give me some" I said. Without waiting for his approval, I took his spoon and started to eat the cake.
Shit! The simple pleasures in life. I thought as the cake melted in my mouth and sounds of pleasure escaped my throat.
Sharing the same spoon, both of us started to demolish the delicacy in front of us, every now and then, either glaring at the other for making a sound that would and probably was misinterpreted by others.
Or stomping on each other's foot for hogging the spoon for longer than need be.
Who knew sharing cake with your enemy could be so tasty! And slightly loud as well!
"Ego head! I was right, you do belong with knives. Just for a minor detail" Randhir said as we waited for the connecting bus.
"And what is that?" I rolled my eyes in exasperation. Once a dickhead, always a dickhead.
"You belong with the doctors" He said smirking.
"Thanks! I wish I could say the same about you though!"
"What makes you think I would even touch a knife in my entire life?"
"You know what I have a perfect profession for you?"
"Oh yeah?"
"Become a paediatrician, that way you can stay with patients your own age, who are maybe just slightly more mature than you already are" I said shrugging my shoulders.
~*~
I guess I wanted to give a precap to the madness in the next chapter...
"You two! Yes! Don't look too innocent... Out of my classroom! OUT!" the tutor bellowed, as I stomped on Randhir's foot.
"Great! What are we meant to do now?" I said stuffing the cake in my mouth. I swear he is trying to make me fatter than I already am. Heck! Like that's even stopped me from eating before, I thought as I took another bite.
The chocolate!
"Have you ever watched Sholay?"
I couldn't believe what I had just heard, but I think my answer shocked him more, as he dragged me to the couch and forced me to sit down while he put on the DVD of Sholay.
