| Jackie building school for blind Jackie Shroff is looking for a plot in Khandala near Mumbai to build a school, hospital and home for blind children. The actor has adopted 30 children in Khandala and is looking for a place that will rehabilitate his wards. "I had a look at a few places but didn't like them. I'm now focussed on getting a place in Khandala. "I saw a plot over the weekend that I liked but nothing's final," said Jaggu dada, who's known in Bollywood for his down-to-earth nature. He has been active in charity events for some time now but has chosen to keep that side to him private. He said he loved children and was interested in promoting adoption, especially of girls. Jackie regularly supplies rations to orphans through an NGO. On the Bollywood front, after an indifferent patch, Jackie's career has looked up recently. His next film is Sai Baba. A series of flops for him, and the huge losses incurred by his wife's venture Boom had got the Shroffs down in recent times. He had also been named in a case for cheque bouncing. Asked about this, the actor admitted to being in trouble but kept his chin up and said he would extend his love for children to his work as well. "I'll make a film for kids after clearing all my liabilities," he said. Wednesday, June 20, 2007 |
