Actress Rachel Babbar, who portrays Juhi in Rahul Kumar Tewary's popular show Udne Ki Aasha, shares how she manages to play the complex role. “While playing the emotional and dramatic moments in the show, I focus on understanding Juhi’s emotional graph. She’s sensitive yet incredibly strong. Working through her inner conflicts helps me stay grounded during the intense, dramatic scenes. As people must have noticed, Juhi faces many moral dilemmas. She is constantly torn between love and loyalty, and that conflict runs very deep. Interestingly, on the day we shot one of the most emotional scenes, I was unwell and running a temperature. I barely had the energy to stand. Delivering those dialogues was challenging, but that physical weakness actually helped me connect with Juhi’s vulnerability. I channelled that exhaustion into her inner turmoil, allowing the pain to come through naturally on screen.”
I hope the audience understands Juhi’s emotional complexity. Even though she secretly marries Arun with Sailee’s help, she carries a deep sense of guilt about hiding the truth from her family.

Exploring Juhi’s Emotional Turmoil On and Off Screen
When asked about her most memorable shots, she adds, “The scene where my on-screen mother slaps and pushes Juhi ...while it was very intense on screen, it was completely new and a surprisingly fun experience off screen. Performing such a physically and emotionally charged moment allowed me to explore Juhi deeply, making the scene all the more impactful. I let Juhi react instinctively. Her emotions stem from very real situations—fear of exposure, accepting her love for Arun, and the respect she holds for her family. Staying true to those feelings keeps the performance real.”
Rachel believes that instinct plays a major role in shaping Juhi’s reactions. By staying emotionally honest and connected to the character’s dilemmas, she ensures that every dramatic moment feels authentic and relatable to the audience.
Love, Guilt and a Risk That Changes Everything
On sharing the audience’s expectations about Juhi, she says, “I hope the audience understands Juhi’s emotional complexity. Even though she secretly marries Arun with Sailee’s help, she carries a deep sense of guilt about hiding the truth from her family. Her journey isn’t just about choosing love—it’s about bearing the emotional weight of that choice and understanding how difficult, yet necessary, it can be to stand up for your own happiness. I would also like to mention here that Juhi and Arun’s relationship is complicated but genuine. Despite the significant age gap, their bond is built on trust and understanding, which makes it even stronger. Arun, being Sachin’s enemy, adds risk and tension, yet Juhi’s love is powerful enough to take that chance. With Sailee’s support and their secret marriage, this phase becomes a major turning point in their journey, and I am sure there is a lot to come.”
