Popular TV actor Manish Raisinghan, known for his portrayals of Sameer Gheewala in Zee TV's Teen Bahuraniyaan and Siddhant Bharadwaj in Colours TV's Sasural Simar Ka, is currently enjoying shooting micro-dramas (short-form vertical series) and experiencing immense stardom in the digital space. With back-to-back series garnering billions of views, Manish has carved a strong niche for himself online. Speaking exclusively about his journey, the actor clarified that he hasn’t taken a break from television and is actively working on a new project.
When asked about shifting from TV to digital and balancing acting with producing verticals, Manish dismissed the idea of a complete transition. He said, "There is no shift from TV space. There is work happening in both TV and web. But just the difference is that the release of web vertical happening really really fast which is fabulous, it is lot of excitement but work is happening for me in all possible spaces except for films.. need prayers and I'm trying that shall also happen really soon."
The Excitement of Instant Storytelling
Talking about the process of shooting and producing verticals, Manish expressed immense enthusiasm for the format. He added, "I'm absolutely enjoying the process of both shooting as an actor and producing verticals. It has quick releases. As a storyteller, you enjoy telling different stories and experimenting with them. As an actor, you get to enjoy playing different kinds of roles. It is really amazing to explore this space because everything happens so quickly. From inception to release, it's not even 25 days, so it gets a lot of excitement. Your success or the failure of the story is instantly in front of you, so you learn from your mistakes and play on it. That is most exciting part. I feel very fortunate in this space; I'm able to act and produce different stories. We are making two to three stories. It is really fabulous to go with that speed and have fun shooting."
The speed, experimentation, and instant audience feedback have clearly made the digital vertical format a thrilling space for him. Producing multiple stories every week, Manish has embraced the pace and the creative challenge that comes with it.
TV Plus Plus: What’s Next?
When asked if he is open to doing television shows again, Manish responded, "I'm rather do something. But again, like you know, TV has its own time and process, so it's taking a little bit of time. I wouldn't say it's on TV space. It's in TV plus plus space, so hoping that also materialises really soon. But really, a lot is happening in that space as well."
Manish has emerged as one of the most celebrated producers of micro-dramas and is considered a pioneer in shooting multiple micro-dramas abroad. He is set to travel overseas again to shoot more stories. One of the biggest vertical dramas he produced and acted in has crossed over 100 million views in no time, cementing his position as a storyteller. Reflecting on the journey, he shared, "everytime we face a challenge in telling a story, we laugh that this is just a dress rehearsal for us to make some remarkable cinema in tight budgets and deadlines."
Professionally, Manish is known for featuring in shows like Nima Denzongpa, Katha Ankahee, Gudiya Rani, Ek Shringaar-Swabhiman among others.
