hii... i m jus a newbie.. don know how will people react to my post...:P
bt i hav heard u r d most authentic resercher of dis forum...so i m here to clear my dosent of doubts...:P..bt i m a big bookwrm...!!... read a few books on him...n d net too(though it isnt reliable)...

so here they go...:::

1) in the serial and in history maham was responsible for khan baba's death...
and in both the cases jajal got to know bout it...before jajo's marriage...and thus seeds of doubt were sown then only...
therefore,in history(as i hav read form book)...he accompanied maham and gang to amer ,to keep a check on them...
wheras in serial they accompanied him to amer... but our emperor forgot about his doubt...

thus,my question is did jalal generously forgot about it(in history too)...was it a blooper ...or was it deliberate attempt for trp's...your views please...

2)this is my most confusing doubt: wherein history is conflicting itself
its about jajo real marriage,in some books its written that sajumal father had alliance with humayon ,elsewhere it is written(book) there was a war with sharif, it in some books its writen raja bharmal himself gave her hand to jalal...

thus, my question... why will there be a war or marriage, for an already established alliance
or vicaversa, why would king himself give his daughters hands to whom he considers his enemy ,after losing a war

(my vies)what i conclude is maybe there was alliance btw amer and mughul sultanat before bharmal which wasn't acceptable to bharmal or there was a clash btw sharif and amer and thus war..and maybe due to some circumstances raja bharmal ageed for marriage...❓...your historical verification much needed here

3) i don't understand why they are using term"jodha"...when thet can easily use any of her names(again maybe for trp sake)...bt using jodha term they are actually degrading muz share in history, since many who are contantly trying to erase her from history(both rajput and mughuls n even her own descendent[ -as u have pointed])are getting more excuses to erase her from history... by sayin akbar mariied none form jodhpur(whch is actually true or jodha was jehangirs wife)...again your views needed

ps:sorry for such big post ,but these doubt have accumalated right in my head and this was one of few reason y joined if...🥱

There is one doubt in my mind. Most of the members say that MUZ never converted to Islam which might not be true at all. Maybe after she left active politics when Noorjahan became the empress she might have converted otherwise why was she buried acc to Islamic tradition? Also, why was a mosque made by Jehangir on her name and not a temple?
Also think that till Ben track the show was going fine with minor glitches but now the storyline has simply become pathetic. Mahamanga & Adham Khan not dead still and one year of Jo-Ak marriage has almost passed and I think that Salim will come sooner. If Salim was born after 7 years of marriage then the real love must have started around 5-6 years & in between Akbar might have married other begums as well. Even after that if love prospered then it can be called epic

Want to know Akbar married MUZ at what age & in which year?

Also want to know about the plight of the begums(especially Hindu ones) once they were past 30 yrs of age(i.e. when they were finished with their beauty stuff & maybe not of any interest to the emperor & especially those who didn't rise in the emperor's eyes)? Were they allowed to remain in the Haram for their entire life and were they allowed to go outside the fort as shown in the Jodha- Sujamal track as I think that the begums remain confined to their respective places in the Haram & couldn't go outside as per their wish. They were trapped & didn't have any sort of independence. Also

Hi Sunram,

There are other reasons probably. I have tried finding about MUZ's Tomb in particular. And, there is the presence of a 'Chattri' structure in her Tomb Complex, and this raises suspicion about the question you have raised, because ''Chattris'' were constructed at the cremation site of Hindu royalty. Though, still doubtful about her last rites, but searching. Will add the pic of the 'Chattri' here after some time. :)

@Sunram

I am posting the pictures of the "Chattri" structures i was talking about. 😊

As i said before, Chattris were constructed at the place where, the Hindu Rajput Royalty people used to be cremated. So, i am posting pictures of some "Chattris".

Here are the pictures.

1. Chattris of the Devi Kund in Bikaner, Rajasthan

So, these "Chattris" above^^ were the structures which were constructed after the Person was cremated at this place.

*****************************************************************************************
Below, i am posting a picture of Cenotaph, at the same place - Devi Kund in Bikaner.
These are EMPTY Cenotaphs, as the person has already been cremated. It means these are made in the memory of the person concerned.
These are called "Nada" in Bikaner.

You can see MORE pictures of these Chattris, etc. at this link. Click here.

^^^^^ Info about Devi Kund :

This is the site of Royal Crematorium, and houses Chhatris of the House of Bikaji Rathore, built in the memory of the Bika dynasty rulers. These offer splendid examples of the Rajput architecture. While the Mughals built lavish mausoleums for the Royal dead, the Rajputs, with their flair for the novel set up Chattris. Open canopies with a robust eye for detail, they mark the spots where each of the Bikas was cremated. It has a number of tombs dedicated to various kings of the past. One particular tomb of interest is that of Maharaja Surat Singh, built entirely in white marble with spectacular Rajput paintings on the ceiling. One cannot miss the spectacular Rajput paintings on the ceilings.
Devi Kund sagar is situated 8 km in the east of city of Bikaner. The members of ruling family of Bikaner subsequent to Jet Singh, the great grandson of Rao Bikaji, have been cremated here. There are Cenotaphs of 22 members of the Royal Family.

Note:
The Chattries of the early rulers were made of red sandstone, ornamentation on which resembles very much with carving work on some of the buildings of Fatehpur Sikri.😉 Maharaja Suraj Singh's Chhatri is the most impressive of all, created entirely with white marble with spectacular Rajput paintings on the ceiling. The Cenotaphs were made from marble and very beautifully sculpted and ornamented. Rajput painting adorn the ceiling of some of the Cenotaphs.

Info from : Government of India, Bikaner District, Rajasthan

Such Chattris structures existed in Udaipur as well.

There are 19 cluster of such Chattris here. Located about 2 kms east of Udaipur, it is an impressive cluster of cenotaphs of the Maharanas of Mewar. There are about nineteen cenotaphs of Maharanas cremated here.

The most striking one is that of Rana Amar Singh, son of Maharana Pratap, who reigned from 1597 to 1620.

Few Pictures:

So, presence of cenotaphs were common to the people of Rajput Royalty as well. It was NOT confined to Mughals. Custom of construction of cenotaphs was present in BOTH. For people of Rajput Royalty, Chattris were constructed at the site of cremation.

Now, finally coming to the point.
The following is about Mariam Uz Zamani's tomb.

The structure contains three cenotaphs : one in the underground chamber, which is the grave itself; the cenotaph above it on the ground floor and another cenotaph on the terrace open to sky.

Here is the one said to be in the underground chamber:

This mausoleum is said to be UNIQUE in itself, in the entire Mughal Period, and falls in the rare category of classic "domeless" tombs of Mughals.

The tomb is in the crypt under the central compartment, which can be accessed with the stairs made in red-stone. A cenotaph is placed in the central chamber. Below the tomb there are around 40 chambers that are painted on plastered walls.

b.
Also, strangely enough, the tomb complex of Mariam-Uz-Zamani also contains proper 'stone' "Chattri". Chattris were constructed at the place where the Hindu royalty people used to be 'cremated' as per Hindu customs.

Here is the photograph of Chattri.

**********************************************************************************************************
Main Structure:

*********************************************************************************************************
Interior:

Seems, It was originally, made of red sandstone. Later, refurbished with white plaster.

@Sunram...

I have posted 2 more comments above, related to these Chattris and Empty Cenotaphs, among the Hindu Royalty people. And, i find the case for MUZ to be similar. But, i can not answer the question concretely, as I have NOT been able to access all archival records. Hence i am NOT clear was she really buried, or cremated.(?) But the presence of 'Chattri' structure, STRONGLY enforces this point which you have said about the LAST rites.!. Lets search MORE. 😊

Good post...
I've been reading about Mithridatism as well.
Trying to explain this very complex process of ' how to make a vishkanya' by modern medicine can be attempted. Some things make sense to me...some don't. I'll try to stay away from complex medical terms.

There seems to be some similarity to vaccination where there is administration of a killed or weaker form of pathogen/ toxin in the body...the body's immune system senses the danger and produces antibodies( weapons) in abundance...more like an army prepared for an overkill after a weak enemy attack. If the next attack is powerful ( exposure to actual disease...here the pathogen is strong) ...the body ready and thus immune.

Desensitization or allergy immunotherapy is a medical treatment used for severe allergies ( this is different from infection ) ... There is regular administration of increasing doses of allergen ( the culprit)... This also brings changes to immune system and the next time patient is exposed to the culprit the allergic reaction is not that severe.

anti venom used to treat snake bites is also prepared by injecting a diluted form of the actual venom into an animal like horse or sheep. The animal will have a immune response and produce antibodies( the weapons ) which are used to prepare the anti venom.

All this can partially explain a few things... But immune response in people can be different . Some of these girls may have died... Probably only the fittest survived. BUT...this only explains how they become immune.
How do they become weapons of assassination? I am immune to polio but it does not mean that if I bite someone, they will get the disease.

Another theory can be : There are diseases where people are 'carriers' of a disease and appear to be healthy on the outside but can still transmit it to other people. Some forms of hepatitis and even some HiV patients in the initial stages of the disease.

How were these processes combined using snake venom? I don't know...
Their knowledge of medicine in those days must be really advanced as far as snake venom is concerned. First making a person immune to snake venom and then a toxic carrier as well!!!

I Havn't had the time to do a lot of research today. I'll go through some older publications to see if I can find something that can help me scientifically understand the 'making of Vishkanyas' . If it has been mentioned so many times in different eras and civilizations, I 'll not dismiss it right away and try to find a logical explanation( if there is one)

I don't underestimate our ancestors. ' Vimaans' are mentioned in our ancient texts...in 15th century, people probably dismissed it as something mythological only...but we have ( airplanes) today. Our ancestors were probably smarter than we think. The vishkanya theory may be a myth but if there is any truth to it , there are aa lot of missing pieces ...Just because we cant explain it today does not mean we won't be able to do so 100 years from now. A lot of wars happened...civilizations were wiped out...all evidence of progress in the field of science may have been lost...who knows if we are rediscovering things that ancient civilizations were familiar with.

@bold: Very true. Ancient India was very advanced in medicine and surgery, astronomy and mathematics. Almost all of that knowledge is lost today. Even the little that is preserved is stored as archive material and not disseminated among today's generation.

We are either reinventing the wheel or importing knowledge from the west at a high price - knowledge that had in fact mostly travelled from ancient India to the west and is now being repackaged and sold back to us.

Have we learnt anything from this? No. For instance, even now the west is taking patents on our medicinal plants and we are ready to pay them to be able to use our natural remedies, rather than taking charge of our heritage and using it for our benefit. Sushruta could perform complex surgeries and was the pioneer of anaesthesia in 6th century BC and today we feel proud to go abroad for even simple surgeries.

This is true for many other ancient civilizations also. The Romans, the Greeks, the Mayans, ...so much knowledge was lost. The tragedy is that every golden era in civilization was followed by a period of darkness when the people seemed keen to destroy the knowledge of their ancient people as being heretic and against nature/God.

Just because we do not understand some concepts, doesn't mean these concepts are someone's imagination. Some day, we will unearth the science behind the vishkanya concept too. After all, it doesn't seem much different from biological warfare used by such eminent people as Saddam Hussein.
