With the second season of Left Right Left launched after the cricket World Cup, there were signs of discontent among the younger lot. Already the show had lost one star Shveta Salve. The status of the other star, Rajeev Khandelwal, was uncertain. Rajeev, the star attraction of the show is contemplating leaving the show. The younger lot took advantage of the situation and pitched for increments. They are reported have threatened to leave the show if they were denied the raise. Fearing that the storyline may go for a toss with a bunch of actors leaving the show, producers Tony and Deeya Singh succumbed to their demand. The cadet team, Arjun Bijlani aka Alekh, Kunal Kapoor aka Yudi, Harshad Chopra aka Ali, Vikas Manaktala aka Huda, Priyanka Bassi aka Naina are now smiling with their increment. Says a source in the production house, "When the serial started, the newcomers did not have a clue about the kind of payment stars get. Moreover, it was a big break for them, so they did the show without any question. Only Rajeev gets the star payment here. But this is the only show which has a budget equal to any Star primetime show. Moreover, the show is a success story and is making huge profits. Naturally, the actors thought that they had been cheated. So, they got together and asked for a big increment. Now they've all got increments of almost 100-140 per cent each. Among the cadets, only Gazal Rai aka Pooja's increment is yet to be finalised."
Vikas Manaktala aka Huda one of the cadets in the show was candid when asked about the raise in their payment. "I do not want to talk about the monetary increment. But whatever it is, it's not at all a huge sum of money. When the show started we were clueless about the system. So, we accepted whatever was given to us."
Some of them feel that with the success of the show and increment is called for. Manaktala continues, "The entire cadet team is working exclusively with the show. We have been getting a lot of offers outside, where people are offering us great money. Still, we have turned them down. So, we got together and asked the producer to address our grievances. I don't think it was an issue. Anyway our increment is very less compared to what's given on other shows."
