Without Dev there, I think Ishwari too has lost interest in being the woman of the house, and has left that entirely to GKB. Otherwise, it was never difficult for Ishwari to crush anyone who threatened her power, Sona being a case in point.
I'm incredibly eager to see how Dev's business is functioning at the moment. I won't comment until we know a little more about that situation, but something tells me Dev isn't as careless as he comes off. My ideal situation: Dev perceived that everyone saw him as an ATM and didn't really care for him as a person, so he continues to run the business and bring in the money, but dropped the facade of being the ideal son, brother, nephew etc.

Whether its good or bad situation, We always see what we want to see and take away what we want to take. I cant take sides when it comes to the damage they did to their relation since both of them are imperfect and both of them kept their families above to their love for each other. The day they start respecting their love(partner) before the world will be the day others & their influence will vanish from their relation. Intentionally or unintentionally, He gave a reason and aim for her future and at the same time he became aimless.

Another thing that makes me curious is that when a forbes 500 undergoes a transformation, casanova or not, news hits page 3. And Sona has bagged an award too. How come Dev, sona, Dixits and the Boses don't know?
@DQ: The role reversal is much less literal than I had figured it would be, but I like that. It makes Dev and Sona's transformations feel more real and allows them to remain in character while also giving a fresh look to the story.
Dev and Sona both, I think, were overwhelmed by what they saw on their return from Shimla. Like you mentioned at the time, both of them were in a bit of a loved-up daze and the scene that unfolded before them gave them a huge shock that didn't get a chance to wear off before they had to make real decisions. As agreed between Asha and Ishwari, it would have been better to shelve this discussion for another time when Dev and Sona were better prepared to react. But of course, Bijoy had to have it his way and in stooping to that level, gave GKB full license to be GKB.
Dev was trying, first and foremost to figure out why his mother was so upset with him, so he could explain the matter properly. His first mistake was implying that Bijoy was making a big deal out of nothing, and I think he did because he was surprised to see the Boses involved in his family's brand of crude drama. He didn't expect them to be so shaken by GKB's nonsense when they knew they had done nothing wrong. But the money thing hit a nerve for them that Dev still doesn't totally understand. Dev simply sees money as a necessary tool to get what you want, and he doesn't give it that much importance... the privilege of having earned it from scratch. The Boses have a much more complicated relationship with money, especially at odds with honour.
@LiveLife: Thanks. I also feel that both of them were equally responsible for the downfall of their relationship, and like you said, the main issue was that both of them put their parents' happiness so far above their own in terms of priority. Dev was definitely the less egotistic one in their relationship. That is not to say that Sona didn't work hard, but she put a majority of her efforts in the wrong direction, that is, towards Ishwari's approval. After a point, it became very clear that she wasn't exactly doing it for Dev. It's like that story where the man buys a new car and insists that he will only drive it when all the signals in the city are green. Sona thought she will "deal with" Ishwari first and then enjoy her relationship with Dev freely. In the process she didn't let Dev in all the way; he put her on a pedestal and she let him. It was only in that fight over the cheque that Dev revealed how much her holier-than-thou attitude rankled.
I am hoping now for a Dev who takes Sona's bravado much less seriously, more of the snarky Dev who came up with phrases like "best bahu pageant." Before, both of them were so afraid of losing each other that it resulted in a lot of dishonesty from both sides. Now that there are no stakes, but they have all this history, the fun really begins!
