Keeping its theme in mind Abhishek Kapoor's forthcoming film Kai Po Che will have a Makar Sankranti release.

UTV Spotboy's forthcoming film Kai Po Che is going to be a Maker Sankranti treat for fans. The makers have locked January 11, 2013 for the release of the film.

Kai Po Che went on floors a few weeks ago and is an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's book '3 Mistakes Of My Life'. It stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Raj Kumar Yadav and Amit Sadh in lead roles.

UTV Spotboy is hoping to cash in on the holiday weekend with the hope that the film gets the perfect opening at the box office.

HEAT STALLS KAI PO CHE

If you think its hot in mumbai, ahemdabad is much worse. The unit of UTV SPOTBOY' film KAI PO CHE, which has been shooting in the city for the last 20 days, will vouch for. They've all been suffering from heat stroke. Two of the lead actors Sushant Singh Rajput and Amit Sadh collapsed and shooing has been stalled till they recover. Manish Hariprasad, creative director, studios, Disney UTV said, "its around 47 to 48 degrees here. We are shooting in authentic locations sans AC's and vanity vans. while shooting the kite flying scene on the terrace of an old haveli in Ahemdabad, the heat took its toll on the two lead actors. They are recovering now"

Bollywood is opening up to the idea of casting television stars in film roles. The divide between the small and the big screens is fast fading.

Sushant Singh Rajput

Film debut: Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che!, which is based on Chetan Bhagats novel, The 3 Mistakes Of My Life.

Small screen stint: He shot to fame as Manav on Pavitra Rishta, and was seen in Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil and the reality shows, Jhallak Dikhlaa Jaa 4 and Zara Nach Ke Dikha.

The transition: Like Shah Rukh Khan, he is a Delhiite who learned acting from Barry John. He stars as the hero of Kai Po Che!, the new film by Rock On!! director Abhishek Kapoor.
