A single social media like has kicked up a full-blown storm. Director Mohit Suri recently liked a viral reel that takes a cheeky swipe at Kartik Aaryan’s obsession with sequels and hints that Saiyaara may have shaken up more than just the box office.
The reel, posted by digital creator Nadeesh Bhambi, mimics Kartik’s signature monologue style to hilariously suggest that Saiyaara’s surprise success has spoiled the future of Aashiqui 3. In the sketch, a voice questions why Saiyaara worked so well, and Kartik’s lookalike responds with an over-the-top explanation about how the real problem is that he wants no problems, which ironically causes problems for the industry. The bit goes on to claim that Kartik was riding high on sequels like Love Aaj Kal 2, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Aashiqui 3 until Saiyaara crashed the party.
https://www.instagram.com/p/DMZe2anJ-BM/The video then spirals into a hilarious sequence where the actor appears to lament the fall of Dostana 2 and now Aashiqui 3, blaming the arrival of a new face who stole the spotlight. It even jokes that Kartik can only headline sequels after Akshay Kumar retires from them. The new face in question is Ahaan Panday, who stars in Saiyaara and is being praised for a surprisingly impactful debut.
But what took this reel from just-for-fun to full-on speculation was Mohit Suri’s like. As the original director lined up for Aashiqui 3 with Kartik, Suri’s digital approval has sent gossip mills spinning. Fans and observers are now wondering if the like was innocent, ironic, or a carefully delivered message.
With Saiyaara continuing to break records and Kartik’s next project with Sreeleela now pushed from its intended Diwali 2025 release, the timing feels loaded. There is no official comment on the delay, but the social media activity around it is doing all the talking.
