Haha thanks! It's not so much Midsummer's though...As in, it's not exactly like any of the Shakespeare plays I've read...(i.e., Twelfth Night, Midsummer's, Othello...Yeah, I don't read Shakespeare unless it's for school...😆)

Part Two
Meher Gupta knocked on the door to Lady Heer Maan's room. Lady Heer was the only child of the esteemed Count Balraaj Maan and Countess Teji Maan. Meher was merely her lady-in-waiting, and considered herself lucky that generations of her family before her had served the Count. She enjoyed being in the castle without having any of the responsibilities of an eventual Countess. She got more freedom that way, something that Lady Heer had often told her she envied.
"Kaun?" Lady Heer asked.
"Ji, it's Meher, my Lady," she answered.
"Come in."
Meher turned the doorknob, entering the lavish room. The walls were, like the manor walls, made of grey stone, but the harshness of it was neutered with the peaches-and-cream dcor.
Meher headed for the four-poster bed and began smoothing the orangey-pink sheets, arranging the cream-coloured pillows neatly. From behind a silk screen (a gift from one of Heer's many suitors), Heer poked her head out.
"Meher, help me with my corset," she called.
"Coming, my Lady." Meher abandoned her position at the bed to help Lady Heer lace up the back of her corset.
"I have honestly no idea how those French ladies manage to breathe in these," Heer muttered, gasping as Meher pulled on the strings. "Not so tight, Meher! Are you trying to kill me?"
Meher winced, loosening the strings a little. "I'm sorry."
"So what have you heard today?" Heer asked, referring to the grapevine of news that travelled from servant to servant.
"Nothing much, my Lady," Meher replied, finally done with the corset. Heer heaved a sigh, proceeding to put on her dress. Meher helped her. "Oh! There are rumours of another suitor, the son of a Duke this time!"
Heer groaned. "I thought I told Bauji that I'm not ready to get married!"
Meher grinned. "They say that you are getting too old, my Lady. A few more years, and no one will want you. You know how these men are looking for women younger than themselves…"
"Some pretty little airheaded thing," Heer said contemptuously. "Something that I will never be."
And that's why her suitors often rejected her.
This unspoken fact lay between them, both of them smiling in this knowledge. Heer was rather proud of her smarts. The Count had made sure that his only child received the finest education possible, and had spent lavishly on tutors for science, philosophy, music, art and so on. As such, Heer was smart. Too smart for most of her suitors, too.
The dress was finally on. Heer headed for her dresser as Meher returned to making Heer's bed.
"So what do you know about him?" Heer asked, sitting down at her dresser. She picked up a brush and absently ran it through her hair.
Meher glanced at Heer's reflection. She briefly wished she could have finery like that, but that thought didn't linger. She was happy as she was. "They say he's the son of the Duke of Illyria. Lord Lalit Juneja," she clarified at Heer's puzzled look.
Heer shrugged. "I've never heard of him. What is he like?"
Meher hesitated. Noticing her hesitation, Heer turned away from the mirror. "What?"
"Um, nothing, my Lady."
"You do not know about him?"
"All I know is that his name is Lord Prem Juneja, my Lady. Apart from that, nothing more. You called for me."
Heer returned her attention to the mirror, plaiting her silken black hair. "Lord Prem Juneja," she mused, a smile growing on her face. "Let's see if Lord Prem Juneja will still want me as his wife after he's met me."
Meher looked at Heer's reflection helplessly. Here we go again.

So yeah...Here it was! You guys don't have to reserve with animal noises anymore. Kudos to whoever sportingly played along, though! 😆 You guys made me grin! ⭐️
Just a little note: even though I'll be updating KK on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from now on, HMT will only be updated on Mondays and Thursdays. Until I'm done writing it completely. Then I might just update it on Saturdays as well.
