Image You will then Buddy Read 2 books during the month.

Image Each book will be suggested by one person.

Image Make sure you’re picking books that are easily available.

Image Keep in mind your Book Bestie’s triggers (if they have any) & offer 2-3 choices.

Image Your Book Bestie will be someone from another team (again, we will do our best to ensure this but it’s not guaranteed)

Image Once grouped, one of you will post your Buddy Reading thread, and you will continue to post your comments and reviews in the thread.

Image Participation must be evident from both Besties in order to receive the special badge - this includes offering choices and discussions on what books you will be picking for the month, and deciding the pace of reading.

Image Note that the pace does not have to match. For e.g.: One buddy may read ahead and finish the book, while the other may be slower, but the point is for both to finish reading the book during the month.

I was thinking we each list our some of our tbrs and pick two from each list (just incase the first choice ends up being DNFed).

I dont really have any triggers except maybe bullying and too graphical horizontal tango.

I like thrillers and mystery, not a fan of horror, will survive romance, romcom, dark comedies

Also, also, I know I went overboard with the pagecoutn/star rating, but lagna chahiye ki read the books na😭 We'll use amazon kindle page count to decide it for both os us (and our logs)

I mostly read fantasy and romance, but I'm pretty chill with most genres. (Big dystopian fiction hater though, idk why, but I've hated every dystopian fiction that I've read.)

My current TBR, starting with what I hope to read/finish first:

  • Well-Behaved Indian Women by Saumya Dave (397 pages; it's a multi-generational story about three women and potentially takes place across different time periods to tell all their stories)
  • How to End a Love Story by Yulin Kuang (372 pages; I think this is about two TV show writers who have some complicated history, but it was marketed as enemies-to-lovers, so I was intrigued.)
  • The Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #2) by Rick Riordan (290 pages; I will finish the series this year!)
  • The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (512 pages; there's a circus and two magicians having some sort of duel)
  • The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow (385 pages; historical fantasy, because this takes place in the early 1900s and there's a magic book)
  • Batting Style (Franklin U 2 #3) by Louisa Masters (280 pages, but I'll be listening to the audiobook; m/m sports romance about a baseball player and a designer, and the latter is a character I've been waiting to read about because he made an appearance in another book I read earlier this year)
  • Level Up (Franklin U 2 #4) by Max Walker (320 pages, but I'll be listening to the audiobook; m/m college romance about an environmental activist falling in love with the son of a presumably evil businessman)
  • Fat and Queer: An Anthology of Queer and Trans Bodies and Lives (336 pages; LGBTQIA+ Anthology series with short stories and poems)
  • Stacey's Broken Heart (The Baby-Sitters Club #99) by Ann M. Martin (150 pages; middle grade book about stacey mcguill, who has had more relationship drama at 13 than I have in my entire life)
  • Just Bromantically Invested (Accidental Love #4) by Saxon James (268 pages, but I'll be listening to the audiobook; m/m romance, best-friends to lovers, it's finally all about my favourite character from this series)
  • Not Catching Love (Accidental Love #5) by Saxon James (290 pages, but I'll be listening to the audiobook; m/m romance about an artist and a nurse, very excited but still sad because it's the last book in the series)
  • The Takeout by Tracy Badua (230 pages; middle grade fiction with magical realism, and I think there's a food truck involved)
  • Done and Dusted (Rebel Blue Ranch #1) by Lyla Sage (356 pages; I think this is meant to be a cowboy romance, and it supposedly has the brother's best-friend trope; gotta check if this is available in KU because it's a LONG wait at the library)

This is mine, though I asked ChatGPT to summarise so God alone knows how accurate it is

Twenty-Nine Going on Thirty by Andaleeb Wajid (240 pages; contemporary fiction, Indian setting; three women navigating friendships, career struggles, love, and turning thirty — warm, relatable, and all about growing up without having it all figured out).

Want to Know a Secret? by Freida McFadden (280 pages; domestic thriller, fast-paced psychological twists; a stay-at-home mom’s perfect life starts crumbling after she receives a note saying someone knows her secret — unputdownable and full of jaw-dropping turns).

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn (432 pages; psychological thriller, dark and twisty; husband becomes prime suspect when his wife disappears on their anniversary — unreliable narrators, toxic marriage, and a total genre-defining read).

The Fisher Queen's Dynasty by Kavita Kane (320 pages; mythological fiction, women-centric; a retelling of Satyavati’s story from the Mahabharata — political power, ambition, and voice to a queen often overlooked).

Luv (un)Arranged by N. M. Patel (275 pages; contemporary romance, Indian diaspora; a modern Indian-American woman goes through arranged marriage setups, trying to balance family expectations and her own desires — fun, witty, and feminist).

The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson (313 pages; psychological thriller, strangers-on-a-plane setup; two people casually discuss killing someone — and then one of them actually follows through — deadly mind games ensue).

Final Girls by Riley Sager (352 pages; thriller/horror, slasher survivor trope; the “final girls” who lived through massacres are being targeted — tense, twisty, and horror-movie vibes with real psychological grit).

Lallan Sweets by Shrishti Chaudhary (304 pages; rom-com, small-town India; a Delhi girl returns to her hometown to revive her family’s sweet shop — full of warmth, food, and a slow-burn love story with real desi charm).

The Matchmaker’s List by Sonya Lalli (352 pages; contemporary romance with cultural themes; a Canadian-Indian woman’s grandmother submits her to a matchmaking list — chaotic dates, secret crushes, and big self-discovery arc — feels like a warm hug with a side of masala).

I picked first two and last as optional

My picks! Shrishti Chaudhary has been all over my explore page on Insta, so I'd say the ChatGPT description was pretty accurate. smiley36

I've never read Riley Sager before, but I've had Final Girls added to my StoryGraph for while, just because it sounded so interesting. (honestly, pretty sure most of the books you mentioned are books I've added to my StoryGraph)

Are you okay with Well-Behaved Indian Women as the final pick?

I checked KindleUnlimited, and the only one available to me is the N.M. Patel book. Sorry, should've checked before. smiley19

Is that ok with you though? It's not very high on my list, ngl, but I don't mind.

Or what about final girls?

Or the books are on oceanofpdf.com🙈
