@Radhika

Your post is nice. But, I differ from your latest assessment^^^ of Ruqs to an extent, which you have based on the fact that Akbar gave Khurram to her, and since my comments in this regard may get "OUT of scope" of this thread here, hence i will give my views at the new place. :)

Very well said Ann 👏.

I do not think she has a clue as to what being a 'life partner' means , leave alone offer positive timely advise to the spouse . Extremely vain , selfish , arrogant , ruthless , wicked and cunning yet foolish , she could never think beyond herself .

I am patiently putting up with all the garbage, that the Creatives are doling out to us in the form of Rukaiyya , only to see and hear her being finally ripped apart by Jalal for overconfidently and arrogantly assuming that she could misuse his respect and patience for her by committing an atrocious act . I hope that I am not disappointed .

Charu.

Thanks Charu 😳 and again hi5!
I can't wait for this evil lady to learn her lessons. Jalal would be deeply hurt but he should punish her. And this time i hope, for the sake of her departed children, Jodha doesn't come forward to save Ruqaiya. Though yes, the death of the twins isn't directly upon her as she unwittingly, in her jealousy, appointed Zeenat, her wicked intentions need to be exposed. Jalal and Jodha should know that despite whatever they do, Ruqaiya won't ever be able to rise above her insecurity. Instead of feeling guilty and repentant about it, they should have led time heal Ruqaiya's wounds.

As mentioned all across the forum, the show is in a polygamous set-up. Wives were used to husbands sleeping around and it was considered normal. Ideally Jalal or Jodha wouldn't have cared who their love hurt or not. If Ruqaiya was ignored in this process, they wouldn't have noticed. The continuous appeasing of Ruqaiya wouldn't have happened. It was not the king's 'responsibility' to attend to every wife or concubine's needs. The king went to the wife who he felt comfortable with or loved the most. This would have happened in real but nobody is complaining about this bit of NR 😉

How can Jalal understand her insecurity? Jodha can explain it to him in simpler terms but he can't ever understand or relate to Ruqaiya's jealousy at all. Since it was the 16th century and households had a polygamous set-up, for them it was all normal. Please remember a pre-nup or a contract wasn't signed before marriage which designated a certain amount of hours to the wife. The husband spent time with wives as he pleased. In real Jalal wouldn't have cared if his spouses seethed in jealousy. It would have been considered most un-natural. Jalal grew up with his father having several wives and giving time to only a few. Most boys grew up in this environment and felt this to be normal. Even wives knew this fate awaited them at some point of their lifetime. Does Jodha throw furniture or smudge her bindi every time Jalal spends time with Ruqaiya?

Ann,

The Q was why Jalal loves her (may be just as a friend) and not what kind of person Ruq is.

We all know the kind of person Ruq is, at least the reel one.

Akbar was always loyal to his family and associates. Very forgiving and patient. Look at how much importance he gave Mahamanga till her death, even knowing about her. He even got a tomb built for her.

Similarly he may have become temporarily distant from Ruq for some years following some emotionally wrenching experience. But he did return to her some of her position in later years and gave her Khurram to raise. She remained one of the 3 main queens of Akbar till the end.

I am not denying Jodha's role, importance or closeness to Akbar. I agree she was most important to him. 😊

But but but... I did not bring in Jodha here because the discussion was about why Akbar loved Ruq. Jodha has nothing to do with this and so I steered clear of her mention. 😊

Just by talking about one queen doesn't reduce the importance of any other queen, more so of a eminent queen like the MUZ. 😊

There are some facets that I would have liked to mention here but then it would become a historical discussion and get this thread into trouble. So keeping mum. 😛

Even Salima Begum was much valued by Akbar. She was of a different nature from Ruq. Her relationship was of a different nature. Yet the fact that she was important to Akbar cannot be denied. Nor does it in any way reduce Jodha's role in his life.

I enjoyed the discussions here. 😊 👏 I can understand the animosity towards Ruq. Esp with the ongoing track in the show. I myself feel repulsed by her behavior. But if we debate a point, we should keep our personal sentiments aside and look at the facts. As also the reality as opposed to the NR.

PS: I think Abhay can better shed light on this Q, but it might get him in trouble with the authorities here. So Abhay, may be at the new place, we can continue this discussion? 😊

And here you have compared Ruqaiya with MA 😉 One of the most vile woman i have come across on indian television. Jalal loved MA because she saved him from various life-threatening situations and gave valuable counsel. Surprisingly, she wasn't even family.

Has Ruqaiya endowed Jalal with such favors? Unlike Ruqaiya, Jalal's love for MA is well-rooted. Probably this is what Ruqaiya feels insecure about, she doesn't have anything to hold on Jalal with. More than Jodha it is frustration she feels with herself that makes her act out so aggressively. But she needs to solve this situation herself.

How long will JJ feel guilty of their love? Insecure she is, but does every wife of Jalal stoop to this level to remain shining in Jalal's eyes?

Comparing JJ love with Jalal and Ruq love, is unfair. The emotion and backing in JJ's relation is far more greater than Jalal and Ruqaiya's relation. Jalal and Ruqaiya's relation is primarily based on blood and later the threads of marriage. Their friendship has remained despite Ruqaiya's actions due to the former. Jalal respects Ruqaiya but she doesn't return it. Though Ruqaiya fears Jalal, that doesn't stop her from taunting him. JJ relation is based on mutual respect and admiration. They started loving each other based on these characteristics and now, unconditionally love each other. Their love is too strong to be broken by Jalal's marriages or other wives. That is the beauty of their relation. Despite all the marriages and concubines, their love stood strong. The way he favored her family is a testimony to it.

Don't worry Radhika, i am not one of those who think Ruqaiya's presence is a taint on JJ love. Her relation with Jalal has been portrayed to be very different to effect JJ relation in anyway. It is just that she is big black blotch in her and Jalal's bond, i hope you get what i am trying to say. Jalal and Ruq's relation has been a one-way street where Jalal respects her and loves her, though in a less intense way, but Ruqaiya stomps all over it to make herself feel superior. Not just in this track, liking her in general is really difficult. How can one like such a conceited woman?

hi guys amazing thread. I too am wondering the reason the creatives have for making jalal tolerate all of ruks recent insults. Even hamida and GB are not able to tell her to stop. I think in this track is that she has smartly used the card of not being able to be a mother. And if we see the initial episodes then jalal knew that she wanted a child. We know that she wanted it for muz, but jalal thought that she really wants to become a mother and that is why he is accepting her crap now. Coming to bearing with ruks all this time, do u all remember till the Benazir saga, she was fine. But after it she became insecure. Cause Jalal had by that time started to feel deeply for jodha. Jalal had started to feel deeply for jodha, much earlier, but only thing is she could see it clearly. Jalal has that childhood bond with her, and that is what stops him. You all are right, once he has known jodha he has distanced himself from ruks, remember the sikri track, that was to show him the difference in jodha and ruks. This even ruks knows that cause of jodha jalal has gone away from her. Cause of jodha jalal has seen ruks shortcomings and has distanced himself from her cause he himself changed. But just because we get to know our friends shortcomings we cannot just throw them out of our life. This is what jalal thinks. Point is that he too was taught by bk that power is everything and ruks thought the same. That is why he found a person like him. Plus she was his childhood friend. So he only considered her special so must have given her the title of BEK. Later when jalal got married to salima, he respected her. But when jodha came things changed like I said. Jalal might be with her also out of guilt, firstly cause he loves jodha now but still feels a sense of responsibility to her. This she is now aware of and uses this as jalals weakness. Let her just tell jal that she took the kid as revenge.jalal will shred her to pieces. Cause this time it is just about enough. Jodha too feels guilty in taking ruks place as she thought ruks was everything to jalal before she came. She said it to jalal in the fake pregnancy track. So she too allows ruks to do what she wants. But when she stops her from doing what she had to do, she does shut ruks up. In this baby case, she herself had given the kid so she cannot say anything. Jalal too does not interfere when she and jodha talk as he feels gulity as he was the one who told her earlier that jodha means nothing in his life, but now she is the love of his life. He now sees ruks as kiddish and knows jodha will understand that she is childish. He knows that she is more mature than ruks. But what he does not know is the extent for which she can stoop for power and this track will wipe out all the guilt that both of them have about ruks. Jalal knows she likes power more than him as in the atifa track, but he does not know that she can even betray him for that power.

Great post karishma 😊

You have it right. The cumulative guilt between JJ is the cause for Ruqaiya's pompousness. She thinks it is her effect and status that forces them to bend to her will. But it the guilt which forces them to listen. After so much time, even now Jalal and Jodha feel guilty about pushing Ruqaiya out. Jalal feels guilty about ignoring her and Jodha thinks she has taken Ruqaiya's place. But what Jodha doesn't realize is that Ruqaiya lost Jalal dues to her own high-handedness not because of Jodha. Is it Jodha's problem that she cares about others? Is it Jodha's problem that she can see public's pain like a true queen? Is it Jodha's problem that she behaved like a proper wife to Jalal? Something Jalal experienced for the first time. Ruqaiya needs some introspection before she starts blaming Jodha for every wrong in her life. Jodha gave away her child to Ruqaiya out of pity and guilt. In the process, she helped Jalal keep his promise too. Ruqaiya has become a menace for Jalal. Somebody he wants to limit in his life but isn't able to due to friendship and blood relations. But this track will surely boil his blood if true intentions of Ruqaiya are revealed at the end of it.

I'm pretty sure at the end of this track, jalal and jodha are firmly going to put ruks in her place. Jodha I want her to tell ruks that why she agreed giving the chils in the first place And how now she does not have any guilt that she came to earn jalal's love cause such a selfish woman who can even use her supposedly best friends child to fulfill her desires of power and revenge is not worthy of jalall's love in the first place. And I want jalal to firmly tell her why he tolerated all her actions and now he hates her selfishness and why he loves jodha. He should show her the mirror. The difference between the selfless jodha and the selfish self of ruks. He should also tell her that no matter what she does, jodha will always be an integral and most important part of his life. He should tell her that it is not because of jodha, but because of her own deeds that he has distanced himself from her. I want jj to be free of all guilt and ruks will have nothing left at the end, nor the Audhe she did this for and nor jalal. The very begum's who used to fear her will mock her. This is the end of the line for ruks.

@bold: good one Ann.. Ruks can get away with what ever she does, reason being she is Jalal child hood friend and first Begum. But when it come to Jodha nothing matters. Ruks can insult Jalal, but those are forgotten or not even mentioned.
