Saif Ali Khan reveals how the death of Sunjay Kapur affected his psyche after the stabbing incident

Saif Ali Khan in his latest interview with a lifestyle magazine has revealed how 2025 has altered his perspective on life. It has been a tough year for the Kapoor family. Firstly, there was the stabbing incident that led to Saif Ali Khan being hospitalized in Lilavati for almost a week. He suffered injuries on his back and hand. The actor faced an armed intruder alone as he tried to protect his son Jeh and his nanny. Within months, we got the news of Sunjay Kapur passing away due to a cardiac arrest in London. Though Karisma Kapoor and he were separated in 2016, the families kept things cordial for the sake of the kids, Samaira and Kiaan Raj Kapoor. Saif Ali Khan said these incidents made him wonder on mortality and what truly matters in life.

Saif Ali Khan told Esquire Magazine that went through his mind as he lay down on the floor of Jeh’s room after being stabbed. He said he thought about his life. Saif said he realized he has been privileged to have a good, colourful life not just in terms of money but also his education at Winchester College. He remembered his good moments with his family and things he loves, like wines. The actor said that he regrets not studying more at Winchester College.

Winchester College is some of the best known schools for children till the age of 18. It has its own entrance exam. Saif Ali Khan also said that Jeh told him that he was the bravest person he knew. The actor said that he would want his children to have calmness, consistency no matter what is the situation in life. Saif Ali Khan told Esquire that he knows he won’t be able to finish all the books in his library but having them around offers a sense of comfort and security.
