Ektaa Kapoor has clarified that her widely-circulated video, which sparked discussion about Ozempic, was not directed at Ram Kapoor. During her appearance at the India Today Conclave Mumbai 2025, Ektaa explained that her comments were personal and not intended as a critique of any specific person.

What exactly Ektaa said

"This was exactly one week before I launched the Bade Achhe Lagte Hain promo, where the main character tries to fit into a medium. The promo was about body shaming, self-doubt, and self-assurance. Somehow, people took my post and spun it into something completely unrelated," Ektaa said.

The television producer, known for several successful shows, also expressed her surprise at the public's interpretation of her video in relation to Ram Kapoor. "I don't know where Ram Kapoor came into this. He's not a woman, not on TV right now, and he's actually lost a lot of weight. It's like I'm talking about my hair, and someone says, 'Oh, you called me bald? Why would I do that?" she added.

What Did Ektaa Kapoor Say In Her Video?

Earlier this year, Ekta Kapoor seemed to indirectly reference Ram Kapoor's weight loss journey. She shared a video on social media in which she said, "What do I do? I've gained a lot of weight. Should I do an anti- inflammatory diet? Mounjaro? Ozempic? All of the above? Zip my mouth? Ya chhod dun? Hum bade hi acche lagte hain (Or shall I leave it? Because I look good just the way I am)!" In the caption, she also wrote: "Ozempic ho jaye."

The phrase "bade hi acche lagte hain" led many to speculate that Ekta Kapoor was referring to Ram Kapoor.

Ram Kapoor's Wife Gautami Slams Ektaa Kapoor

Shortly thereafter, Gautami Kapoor, Ram Kapoor's wife, responded to Ekta's comments with a touch of sarcasm. "Should I do an anti-inflammatory diet? Should I take ‹Mounjaro? Should I take Ozempic (pharmaceutical drugs), or all of the above? Or should I just zip my mouth? But I think mere liye gym hi kaafi hai (For me, the gym is enough)," she said in a video on Instagram.

Gautami ended her remarks by playfully alluding to Ekta's show "Bade Achhe Lagte Hain," and then she said, "Kyunki humein bade nahi, chhote hi achhe lagte hain." Sharing the video, Gautami wrote in the caption, "Jisse jo pasand ho... use woh karne do (Let people do what they like) ... live and let live... at the end, what matters is health, happiness, and peace (sic)."
