I am definitely not gender biased, as you can see from my choices.
What is common in all these people?
They are an one man/woman army. Yes, they too need side-kicks now and then, but they are the alphas of their pack. When they talk, people listen, people follow. And quoting ASR, they write their own destinies and of the people around them. (I am well aware that it is actually the CVs who do that, but you know what I mean. No point bring DM into the conversation as that is a completely different debate ) What I meant was, they have the power to affect, change and manipulate their surroundings and they use their heads to do so. That is the most attractive quality for me.
When ASR forced Khushi to marry him, I screamed "checkmate", because I appreciate strategy that went behind it. Again, you might counter that , he could have demanded answer from Khushi, then I would say , she should have spoken the truth when she came to know first. But lets just agree that because this is an Indian serial, things had to happen this way.
I have also liked the fact that he has never forced his belief over others. He is an atheist. He doesn't like following rituals. But he lets others do as they please. He doesn't force them, can he not expect the same courtesy? Again, this being an Indian drama, there is not point debating on it. *sigh*
They can all physically and mentally beat the shit out of their opponents 😛 Apart from Sheldon of course. But he can make people run away just as easily by simply talking 😆
I can imagine conversing with them over numerous topics : science, history, politics, technology, sports, books, literature, music, etc. and have an intellectual conversation. I come from a research background. Being a snob is in my career description unfortunately.
Another question : Can't I feel Khushi's pain. Frankly ...Not at all
It is not in my genetic make-up to cry when faced with any problem. My default reaction is to analyse the situation and try to find loopholes and counter measurements towards fixing the problem and go about achieving it. Crying, self-sacrifice (without potential returns), pity...I cannot relate to it.
We all are provided with almost the same genetic composition. And I believe that we should be able to take care of ourselves. Relying on third party resources is highly unacceptable to me. My funda in life can be described in a simple physics formula
Work = Force * Displacement
Force = Magnitude and direction
Displacement = change occurred
No matter how much force you apply, if the displacement is zero, the work done will be zero.
That is basically what I see Khushi doing. She tries real hard to set things right in her own way. But the work done is either zero or goes into the negative.
I think I have written enough.
Hope that you have got at least some idea why I find ASR so appealing!
