Interesting thought.. this hug was initiated by Sai .. when she had not yet consciously been aware of him .. right now virat was just an honorific big bro .

I had the same thought when I watched that scene recently. I don't remember her having that instinct from the time I started watching the show. But I think it is due to her subconscious awareness of Patralekha being between them. Virat hadn't mentioned about Patralekha to her till then. She had started relying on her subconsciously. But after Patralekha she subconsciously formed a barrier between them😭

Yeah Patralekha and her existence in Sai's life has made a huge impact on Sai.. In her mind she has a huge place in Virat's heart and that makes her become this way.. so restricted..

it is true ... sayi initially had not put virat in the opposite sex attraction phase .. simply because .. he was too senior to her .. It happens with a lot of people you will be surprised..

So many of friends got married to the guy .. who they initially called .... da .. it is not exactly real big bro or cousin but a senior male figure .. in the same gen

he was her father’s boss.. and then she was not looking for romance .. when she started fighting with him for retirement..i cannot call it sexual tension ..

The above sentence, basically her decision to not expect anything from him (the husband Virat) is stopping her from doing it.

One can ask, why should she only do it as a wife or consider him only as a husband and do it. Yes, she can even now hug him as just as the same Virat from GC, but it is tough for her due to the below reasons. It is a conscious effort taken by her.

If she does it once, she won't be able to stop herself from hugging him again.

Hug can be a romantic one, or out of happiness or to seek comfort. Hugging can become addictive too or like one can get habituated.

Right now both share the same room and are with each other more often.

- Once she does it, she won't be able to stop herself from hugging him everytime she is happy like when she achieves something or for Devi Tai or any reason. Happy wala hug gaya.

- She feels sad more often because she has lost her Dad, she also faces a lot of issues in this house and then her loneliness and most importantly the kind of relationship she and Virat shares also hurts her. So once she hugs him, she will want to get that comfort from him again and again.

Comfort wala hug bhi gaya.

- Romance toh khoso meel door hai. She won't be able to think of it if she can't let go of the above two. Waise, romance is possible when they get attracted to each other and both get carried away.

😆i was joking , I agree sai was not exactly looking for romance coz her mind was focused on KJ & she used to treat him as his father's boss only but there was some kind of pull b/w them thou I will say it was more of emotional .

I don’t know if there is a reason or is it just a lazy writing . If you notice , they have gone backwards . After their marriage , they were very comfortable touching each other like tucking hair , touching lips , head message , hugging him on their wedding night and holding each other for little longer during accidental hug but from the results episode suddenly they were behaving as if they are in platonic relationship. Now he feels awkward touching her lips or caressing her forehead(Alta scene) or hug tho dur ki baat hain .

I think they are more conscious of each other physically, they are physically attracted but don't want to admit it. Earlier, it was friendly in fact platonic.
