PART - 44
Apparently, Geet had hit her head on the pots lying nearby when she fell unconscious… It had left a deep cut on the back of her head and blood was literally pouring from it…
Maan hurriedly tore Geet's dupatta and tried to tie it around her head to prevent further bleeding…. But he had not even finished tying it over her head and it already got covered in blood… He was getting very hyper seeing so much bleeding when he suddenly remembered Doctor's words…
"Oh My God… Doctor ney toh kaha tha ki even a little bleeding might prove to be fa… NAHIII… No Geet… Main tumhe aur humare baby ko kuchh nahi hone dunga… Kuchh nahi…"
He didn't waste even a single second and picked her up immediately… He almost raced down… He completely ignored the shrieks and shouting of his family seeing Geet in this state… He didn't pay any heed to their fussing… All this while he only got strength feeling the faint breath of Geet on his neck…
Vicky had understood the seriousness of the matter and helped Maan in settling Geet in the car… He forced Maan to stay with Geet on the back seat… While he himself took the Driver's seat…
He instructed Raj hurriedly to come with all the others in a different car, as he didn't want anyone to create any more panic… He then hastily sped away, breaking all the traffic rules…
HOSPITAL
Throughout the journey to the hospital, Maan tried everything he knew to make Geet conscious again… Even Vicky kept shouting some methods to Maan that could help him in keeping her awake but everything failed… At last the hospital came and Maan rushed Geet in it with Vicky following him closely… Both least bothered that they had left their car at the driveway!!!!
"DOCTOR!! DOCTOR!!!!!"
Everyone stared at the two men carrying a girl and one of them who was holding her shouting like a maniac but neither of them was bothered about the wayward looks…
Luckily Geet's doctor who was just signing the register after completing her duty and was leaving for home saw them… She immediately rushed to them…
"Mr. Khurana… Geet ko kya hua????"
"Doctor… Geet.. Bleeding… woh behosh… Uth nahi rahi… Khoon…"
Maan kept on blabbering hardly making any sense… Vicky immediately took hold of the situation, as they couldn't afford to lose any more time…
"Doctor I will explain everything but right now, Geet needs immediate attention…"
Doctor agreed and immediately instructed the ward boys to bring a stretcher and instructed the nurse to make all the necessary arrangement for conducting some tests…
Vicky had to literally snatch Geet from Maan's hand and keep her on the stretcher as Maan was barely registering anything and was behaving like a two year old refusing to part with his favorite toy…
Geet was then immediately wheeled to the Intensive Care ward…
"Please aap dono yahi par wait kariye..." Doctor requested…
"Main bhi aapke saath aaoonga…" Vicky spoke adamantly…
"Paar Sir… hospital rules…"
"Chinta mat kariye… Am also a certified doctor… In fact mujhe Geet ki medical history ke baare mein saari jaankari bhi hai so I can be of help…"
Vicky asserted and also showed the Doctor his International Neurologist Certification card which was luckily in his wallet at that time…
The doctor couldn't refuse such a senior doctor so she gave him the permission…
"Maan… Main waada karta hoon ki hamari Geet ko aur tumhare bachchey ko kuchh nahi honey dunga…"
Vicky promised Maan and made him sit on the visitor's chair while he himself went in the ward to examine Geet…
After a few minutes other family members also appeared and tried to enquire about Geet from Maan who gave them a blank look… They gave up and instead asked the nurse who was passing by but got no reply…
TWO HOURS LATER
These two hours seemed like an eternity to the entire Khurana and Handa clan… They had never experienced such a torture in life ever before… While one of their kids was in the operation theatre fighting for her as well her own baby's life, their other kid was sitting in front of them completely lifeless…
An hour back, Geet had been rushed to the Operation theatre… They tried asking everyone what was happening but got the answer only from Vicky, which literally shook their souls…
"Pray for her…."
These were the last words they heard from a teary eyed Vicky who was trying his best to keep himself composed before he disappeared with Geet and the group of Doctors and nurses in the operation theatre… All this while, Maan gave no hint of any emotion and remain stone faced…
Just then, they saw a doctor emerging from the operation theatre and immediately Rano rushed forward to him…
"Doctor saab… woh abb kaisi hai?? Wo theek hai na???"
The doctor let out a dejected sigh and shook his head…
"We are very sorry Ma'am… Hum unhe bacha nahi sake…"
GASP
There was a collective gasp while everybody became rigid from shock… But this time, it was Maan who spoke rather thundered on the poor doctor…
"Nahi… NAHI… YE KYA BAKWASS KAR ARHEY HO TUM???"
Maan spoke clutching the collar of the doctor's coat and shaking him so badly that if he continued for a few more minutes, all the hair on doctor's head would soon obey the law of gravitation leaving the poor guy bald!!!!
The doctor was immensely scared of the mad and the super angry guy and barely managed to squeak…
"Wo sir… Unkey lungs aur pancreas toh pehley hi jawaab dey chuke thhey… Brain ney bhi slow function karna chalu kar diya tha… Aur abb heart ne bhi jawaab de diya thhaaa…"
Maan left his collar thoroughly confused while all the others also gaped at him incredulously…
"Yeh aap kya keh rahein hai doctor…" Mohinder asked after finally finding his tongue…
"Jee… Abb hum umar ke takaaze ko toh rok nahi saktey na… Aakhir unki umar bhi toh ho gayi thi… Itne bhudaape mein toh survival chances waise hi kam hotey hain…"
"KYAAAAAAAAAA????"
Everyone shouted in unison while Doctor closed his ears and stared at this mad family wide eyed…
"Umm jee abb ek sau chaar saal ki aayoo toh kaafi hoti hai na…"
"EKK SAU CHAAR????"
Now it was Dadima who shouted… All this while Maan stood shooting daggers at the doctor but now he took a mental sigh of relief realizing that there was some confusion…
"Aap kis ki baat kar rahey hain doctor???"
"Huh… Kachori Devi jee ki…"
Doctor stared at the lunatic family wondering if all of them really had lose screws and his suspicion was confirmed and attested when the family who stood devastated a few minutes back started laughing like totally goners…
At the same time Vicky emerged from the Operation Theatre with a super grim face, which immediately wiped off all the traces of laughter from everyone's faces… Maan literally leapt towards him…
"Vicky… Geet…. Meri Geet abb kaisi hai??? Aur baby?? Wo dono theek hai na…"
Everyone looked at him expectantly while Vicky just shook his head and kept a hand on Maan's shoulder…
"Nahi Maan…"
These two words of Vicky scared the living daylights of everyone but the next second Vicky stared grinning and said…
"Wo dono nahi teenon bilkul perfect hain…"
"Teenon???" Maan asked confused as well as surprised…
"Yup… Congrats dude… Tum ekk nahi Do-Do bachchon ke baap ban ne walle ho… Geet is pregnant with twins!!! And YES Geet and both the babies are out of danger now…"
Maan was simply overwhelmed and encaged Vicky in a bone crushing hug while everyone rejoiced this beautiful piece of news…
The doctor who had given such a terrifying news to the family a few minutes back understood that they were actually not the family of Srimati Kachori Devi who was being operated upon in Operation Theatre 2… He slipped away immediately before they realized his presence and decided to kill him!!!!
Actually both the operation theatres had a common main entrance… Hence any normal person could never guess that there were actually two OTs behind the doors…
"Humein toh yakin hi nahi ho raha… Kuchh der pehley hum sab itney badey sankat sey ghire hue thhey aur abb itni badi khushi…"
Dadima exclaimed extremely overwhelmed… Their sweet moments were disturbed by the ring tone on Maan's phone… Maan picked up his phone and once again all colour drained from his face…
"WHATTT!!!!!"
