Jaspreet nods her head and goes, by her room Lakshya stands against the wall
L - already treating you like an outsider
He pats Jaspreet's shoulder then goes off, Jaspreet frowns and goes into her room to sleep but throughout the night she's unable to.
Part 37
In the morning Jaspreet wakes up and goes downstairs to find everyone eating at the breakfast table except Lakshya, she frowns and turns around and heads upstairs again to find Lakshya, she finds him in his room, she enters the room and sits by him
J - why aren't you eating breakfast with everyone?
L - erm....no its ok...you go
Lakshya turns his face away from Jaspreet but she senses something is wrong so she makes him face her again
J - what is it?
L - its just,,,,,I went downstairs to eat
Lakshya stands up and faces the window, he looks at Jaspreet from the corner of his eye with a smirk on his face, he then turns back around with a sad look on his face
L - Kashish aunty was in the kitchen, and I guess she wasn't happy with you and me going to Mom's so she simply ignored me and left the kitchen, I was hurt a bit but decided to ignore it, so I went back upstairs and I head Kashish aunty and Sujal uncle talking, saying how they don't want me living here...and....and.....
J - and what?
L - and that if it wasn't for you then they wouldn't be having this problem....
J - mom and dad said that?
Lakshya frowns, Jaspreet stands up and holds his arm and takes him downstairs into the kitchen, Kashish smiles at her
K - come have breakfast
J - are you sure that its ok for me to have breakfast here with you?
L - look don't....
J - be quiet......
K - Jaspreet what's the problem?
J - the problem? oh no its just I thought if you didn't want Lakshya eating at this table then why have me? after all I am his sister...
K - I never.....
J - enough mom! I know you hate Lakshya living here, but you take me as your daughter so this makes this house much as much as its Kiran's, but if you have a problem with Lakshya staying here then say so, and we'll both go
S - enough!
Jaspreet turns around to find Sujal at the door
S - is that the way to talk to your mother?
J - I'm sorry dad......I'm sorry that you can't accept Lakshya as a member of this family.....if that's the case then its obvious I'm not a member of this family either, after all we both share the same blood, ever since I knew I was adopted I thought no matter what, you loved me like your own child, but I guess I was wrong, I guess I've been a burden on you all these years, right?
Jaspreet is about to talk further but Sujal slaps her, Jaspreet holds her cheek and tears stream down her face
J - I guess that's your answer, don't worry me and Lakshya will leave, come on Lakshya
Jaspreet leaves the kitchen and goes upstairs, Lakshya follows slowly behind, Sujal sits on the chair and closes his eyes, Kashish rests her head on his shoulder and begins to cry. Soon Jaspreet comes downstairs with her and Lakshya's things, Sujal and Kashish are still in the kitchen, both stay there even when they hear the door slam shut, both stay there even when Kiran and Karan come and join them, both stay there even when Robbie arrives. Robbie looks around the kitchen
R - what's happened? why is everyone so upset?
Ka - Di left
R - what?
Ki - She came down for breakfast and began ranting on that mom and dad don't consider Lakshya a part of the family so they don't consider her a part of the family, dad got angry and he slapped her, then she left with Lakshya
Robbie looks at Sujal and Kashish sitting at the table, he kneels down in front of Kashish and places a hand on her shoulder, she looks at him and cries, he hugs her
R - aunty don't cry.....I'll bring Jaspreet back, and I'll teach that Lakshya a lesson, aunty please stop crying
Robbie consoles her then leaves, he gets into his car and drives to Lakshya's house where Jaspreet and Lakshya are sitting in the living room with Ganga
G - your dad will be happy that you're home
J - where is he?
G - upstairs
Jaspreet goes upstairs to speak to Sahil, while she's there Robbie bangs on the front door, Lakshya goes to open it, Robbie glares at him and pulls him out and punches his stomach
R - I warned you didn't I! I wanred you if you did anything to my family, I would kill you, and now your plan made Jaspreet leave!
Robbie punches Lakshya's face, Ganga goes to see what the noise is all about and is shocked to see Robbie beating Lakshya up, she tries to stop him but Robbie continues to hit Lakshya, Robbie is about to throw another punch when Lakshya holds his arm and begins to fight back. Upstairs Jaspreet is hugging Sahil
J - you were right, I realised after all these years....I'm sorry dad
Sa - better late then never
Jaspreet smiles and kisses his cheek, she hugs him again, she goes towards the window and sees Robbie and Lakshya fighting, she runs downstairs and tries to stop them, she manages to pull Lakshya and stands inbetween them
J - what the hell is wrong with you Robbie?
R - what's wrong with me? why don't you ask this brother of yours!
Robbie lunges for Lakshya but Jaspreet pushes him back
J - watch it Robbie, he's my brother
R - sure he's your brother, I can't believe for this idiot you left your home, you left your parents....
J - my parents are here
R - so aunty and uncle are nothing to you? Kiran and Karan mean nothing to you
Robbie spits blood out from his mouth and smiles
R - the girl who couldn't be true to the people who raised her.....to think I loved her? woah Robbie what a big mistake
Jaspreet's eyes widen, she looks at Robbie who looks sad
R - this so called brother of yours has succeeded to ruin your life, has he told you why he came to live with you? well of course he's told you a load of crap....you should ask him.....whenever you have ime.....oh and ask that father of yours what he told Lakshya about your adoption.
J - Robbie...
Jaspreet reaches out for him but Robbie steps back
R - don't......you've known me for years....and you knew me and my family never got on....and when I met you I found the love, that was missing from my family, in your family and from then on I accepted your family as my own....your mom as my own, and you made that woman cry? the same woman who would flinch if you got hurt? the same woman who put you above her own children......it's true what they say......blood is thicker than water.....and you just proved that the love you had for your family....was just water....not blood
Robbie frowns and steps back, he looks at Lakshya
R - if I see you near my family, I'll kill you, and I won't care for a second that you're the brother of the girl I love
Robbie turns and leaves, Jaspreet has tears in her eyes, she wipes them then helps take Lakshya inside. She goes into her room and sits on the bed, Robbie's words ring in her mind, she closes her eyes and lays on the bed. Ganga comes into her room and sits on her bed and carresses her hair
J - Robbie loves me
G - yes he does
J - I think I love him too, but he hit Lakshya.....and said all those things...why?
G - don't think about it......go to sleep
Ganga carresses her hair until she falls asleep, she then goes into Lakshya's room and sees him sleeping. She standa by his bed with her arms folded, Sahil comes there and stands by her
Sa - he doesn't need to know.....our family is complete, leave it that way
G - so he can hate us in the future for not telling him the truth?
Sa - he doesn't have to find out, our daughter is home, that's all that matters, lets sleep
G - how can you sleep? how can I sleep? knowing that we've snatched a daughter away from her parents
Sa - we're her parents
G - she has our blood but she has Kashish and Sujal's values in every sense she is their daughter and we snatched her again, if she hates us in the future, I will never forgive you
Ganga leaves the room, Sahil breathes deeply then follows her. Robbie goes back to Sujal's house, Kashish sees to his wounds
Ka - what now?
R - nothing, I'm moving into this house....and we'll live like nothing happened, right aunty
Kashish smiles faintly
Ki - but what about Di?
S - your Di no longer thinks of us as family, but we always will, she will always be our daughter even if she stays with Ganga and Sahil. Whatever makes her happy
R - a fresh new start.
coming up - 1 year on and Robbie's getting married
