One Year Later
A guy stands in front of a mirror and sorts out his collar, he straightens out his shervani jacket before adjusting his turban, he feels his stuble and smiles. The guy is none other than Robbie, he admires himself in the mirror but stops after a while, he sits on the bed and pulls out his wallet, he opens it and smiles at the photo of him with Kiran and Karan, he swiftly pulls out another picture from behind it and frowns, the picture is of no one else but Jaspreet. Robbie stares at the picture for a brief second before putting it away as he hears knocking on the door. He stands up and breathes deeply before speaking
R - come in
The door opens and Kashish smiles at him, she walks into the room and gives him a hug, then leads him to the bed and both sit down
K - ready?
R - of course, is everyone else?
K - yeah, they're all downstairs
R - great
Kashish touches his cheek with her hand, Robbie glances to his wallet then back at Kashish and smiles, Kashsih's smile fades away
K - you're missing her right?
Robbie grins and stands up and turns his face away from Kashish
R - missing who?
Kashish stands up and faces Robbie
K - don't lie to me at least, we both know you're missing Jaspreet
Robbie laughs lightly
R - who would miss her? and why should I miss her? the same girl who didn't care about her parents who love her so much, the person who didn't care about her brother and sister who looked up to her, the same girl who didn't care about her best friend who...
K - who loves her immensely
Robbie looks at Kashish and hugs her, a tear falls down his cheek, Kashish pulls away from him and brushes his tear away
K - no tears, not today anyways.
R - you're right, why cry on my wedding day for?
Robbie smiles and gives Kashish another hug, lying on the side is a photo of Robbie slipping an engagement ring on to the finger of a beautiful girl. Robbie stops hugging Kashish as Kiran bursts into the room
Ki - what's this mom? you're meant to come here and hurry this Robbie up, but you stayed here yourself
Kashish laughs and nods her head
K - she's right, hurry up Robbie
R - two minutes, you go, I'm coming
Ki - if you're not down in two minutes, I'll phone Kasturi and tell her you've changed your mind
R - hey no need for that...I'm coming
Kiran and Kashish leave the room, Robbie laughs to himself over Kiran's words, he sits on the bed and begins to think whether he's doing the right thing, before the engagement he told Kasturi that it would be hard if not impossible to love her the way she should be loved, and despite that Kasturi agreed to marry him. The openeing of the door brings Robbie out of his thoughts, he looks up and gulps as Kiran stands there with her arms folded, he stands up and kisses her cheek
R - 2 more minutes, I promise
Kiran sighs and closes the door, Robbie smiles to himself and turns and looks outside the window, everyone is gathered outside to leave for Kasturi's house, he sees the car in which he's meant to travel and finds Karan sitting on the bonnet, he makes a mental note to smack his head for doing so,, he then sees Sujal hitting Karan and pulling him off the car, Robbie grins and mentally thanks Sujal for doing so. Robbie's about to put his sehra on when he hears a knock on the door, Robbie sighs deeply and goes to open the door ready to give Kiran an earful for being so impatient. He opens the door and is about to speak when he sees its not Kiran but someone else
R - you?
Robbie moves aside to let the person, the love of his life, Jaspreet into the room, he stands against the wall while she stands by the dresser, she picks up the photo of Robbie with Kasturi
J - congratulations, she's very pretty
Robbie crosses the room and takes the photo from her, looks at it and puts it down
R - yes she is, so what brings you here? hows your family?
J - Robbie.....
R - how nice of you to even remember my name
J - Robbie please....
R - what do you mean by Robbie please?!!! You never cared a bit for "Robbie" this past year, or when you decided that everything he said was a complete lie or when you decided you don't want to see him again!
Robbie looks over at Jaspreet who has tears in her eyes and her head bowed, he breathes deeply
R - none of this matters now, and I'm getting late, its my wedding day today so please if you could leave....
Robbie holds the door open but Jaspreet stays put, she wipes her tears away
J - I know everything now Robbie, I know you were right
Robbie looks at her
R - how did you find out?
J - at first when I went to live with them, everything was great, we were like a family but I missed mom and dad....and Kiran and Karan....and you
Jaspreet sits on the bed, Robbie closes the door and sits by her
J - I told dad I wanted to go see you guys but he wouldn't let me and we got into a fight, I stormed off into my room, I was crying when Ganga mom came to me.....
*flashback*
Ganga comes into Jaspreet's room, where Jaspreet is sitting on the floor against the cupboard, with her head on her knees, she kneels next to Jaspreet and puts her hand on her head, Jaspreet looks up and clutches Ganga
J - I just want to see them, why won't dad listen? why won't he let me see them?
Ganga holds Jaspreet close to her as tears fall down her cheeks as well
G - because he doesn't love you
Jaspreet looks up at her, Ganga nods her head
G - its true, he did at first, when you were younger but after you decided to go back to Sujal and Kashish he began to hate you. He always said he would use Lakshya to get you back, and that's what he did, he told Lakshya the story about you, but left out the fact that I personally gave you back to Sujal and Kashish because I knew they loved you, and that he kidnapped you and tried to force you to live with him. Lakshya believed everything he said and began to believe that Sujal and Kashish stole you from us, which is why he went to stay there and forced you to hate them and leave. I'm so sorry, I should have told you this earlier, but Sahil.....you're like a prize to him, something he won over Sujal
Jaspreet clutches Ganga and continues to cry, at the door Lakshya drops the glass of water he brought for Jaspreet. Jaspreet and Ganga look up and get shocked, Lakshya staggers into the room and falls on the floor next to them both
L - mom.....is that true? dad kidnapped Jaspreet?
Ganga looks at Jaspreet not knowing what to say
L - Di? is it true?
J - mom...?
G - yes it's true, I'm so sorry Lakshya, I wanted to tell you earlier but your father wouldn't let me
Lakshya looks at Jaspreet and folds his hands in front of her
L - I'm so sorry Di
Jaspreet holds his hands and hugs him, Ganga hugs them both.
*present*
J - Lakshya convinced me to go back home, and I did, to see you guys, but you all looked so happy, I didn't want to spoil it. I heard that you were getting married last week so Lakshya and Ganga mom convinced me to come and see you
Robbie looks at the teary-eyed Jaspreet and puts his hand on her and squeezes it lightly, he then sees his engagement ring on his hand and he pulls his hand back then stands up
R - it's too late now.....I have to go...
Robbie picks up his sehra and begins to put it on his turban when Jaspreet holds his hand and puts it on for him, Robbie avoids looking into her eyes, once it's on Robbie rushes out of the room and Jaspreet follows slowly making sure no one sees her. Robbie gets into the car and everyone heads to Kasturi's house while Jaspreet follows in her car. When they arrive at Kasturi's house, Robbie, Kashish and Sujal stand at the front with Kiran and Karan, Robbie's aarti is taken and he goes inside with Sujal, Kiran and Karan following, Kashish is about to go inside when she feels a hand on her shoulder, she turns to see who it is and is shocked to see Jaspreet
J - mom....
Kashish doesn't know what to say, tears fall from her eyes as she touches Jaspreet's face, she then hugs her and both cry. Sujal comes to get Jaspreet and is also shocked, Jaspreet goes to him and bows her head in front of him, she bends down to take his blessings, Sujal hesitates at first but eventually gives his blessings and hugs Jaspreet. The three go inside
