Chapter 9

"Manvi are you alright" Virat was now terrified seeing this workaholic state of Manvi, it had been three hours since she started in the hospital and she had taken rounds of almost 24 patients, and given chemo to 5 of them but yet showed no sign of stopping. "yes Virat completely fine, I need to keep working," she said ignoring him. Her voice did it for him she sounded completely exhausted, "Manvi chalo, yaha pe betho." She stared at him as he pulled away all the working stuff she had in her hands, "take a deep breath and relax Manvi, insaan ho bhagwan nahi, I don't want you working this hard," he said gently patting her back. "Feel better?" She smiled at his concern, "how do you always know when I am lying," she asked confused now, "tumhari aakein ne mujhe sab bol diya," he smiled back and her and handed her a water, "take it easy now ok, I agreed to let you work at the hospital not become a hospital patient." She giggled back making him sigh in relief, "just make sure you don't too tired ok," he patted her cheeks one more time before leaving her. Two hours later he was frantically running down the halls to the emergency ward checking in each room. He finally came to a room where a nurse immediately handed him an IV to put into her. A couple minutes later she slowly regained consciousness. He took a deep breath and wiped the tears in the corners of his eyes. "MANVI, I TOLD YOU TO RELAX. NAHI TUMHE TOH ZIDHI HONA THA NA, BHOUT ZIDHI HO, BHOUT SELFISH HO. TUM BIMAR PARO TOH MUJHE KYA NA. TUM KO PATA BHI HAI KI YEH DO MINTUE MEIN MUJPE KYA GUZRI. I THOUGHT I LOST YOU DAMMIT." "I'm sorry," she barely whispered. It took one look into her eyes to melt his anger completely. They were filled with pure guilt and fear; he probably scared her to death now. "Its ok Manvi, mein chalta hoon" he sighed getting up to walk away. She smiled at him and held his hand, "bhout ajeeb eshas hota hai na tumhe bhi." Her question completely startled him and he turned around immediately. "You mean tumhe bhi." She nodded her head shyly and signaled for him to sit down. Her eyes closed when he held both her hands and he gently caressed her cheeks moving her hair back. "Manvi, you make me feel so happy so free. You so much more than any girl I could imagine. You're ambitious, sweet, cultured, you respect my parents so much, Manvi there isn't one thing that I have found that I don't like about you. I really think I am falling in love with you. I actually have never done this before so it's a completely new feeling but would you at least be willing to give it a chance, please. I promise koi dating ka khel nahi hai. I know how conservative you are when it comes to that. Agar tum chati ho toh mein Kadamabri aunty se tumhara haath maang na chata hoon, but only after you give me your decision. You don't have to feel bad or anything, just tell me exactly what your heart says Manvi." He took a deep breath after finally getting his feelings out to her. His eyes filled up seeing no response from her for a while and he got up to leave when she held his hand again, "mujhe bhi bhout aajeeb eshas hota hai, maybe this is what love is, tum se mera ristha pyaar hai ya dosti mein janti nahi lekin dil ka ristha bhout khas hai," she said caressing his hand to her cheeks. "I love you Manvi, I really love you, please mujhe kabhi chod me math jana," he finally whispered in her ears. She smiled and turned around to hug him when she felt a sharp pain, "ahh, Virat the IV fell out," she screeched holding down the blood gushing out. This was enough to take him out of the moment and he literally bandaged her within 2 seconds. "Manvi," he started caressing her hair again. Their moment was again ruined but Virat's pager, he looked down and glared at it and turned it off just to have Manvi turn it back on. "kam pe lago please, mein yahi rahungi I promise, baki bati hum ghar pe karenge abhi get to work," she said literally pushing him away. "khud workaholic nahi ban pai aur ab mujhe sara kam diya, wah," he said giggling at her. She finally smiled and kissed his hand, "chalo, nahi toh mein chalungi," she threatened. Virat immediately glared at her, "nahi tum toh pura bed rest all day, I will see you for lunch break he said gently pecking her forehead. She sighed, all these days of weird feelings were changed into a beautiful relationship in just seconds, she fell asleep again with him in her thoughts, only this time she wasn't anxious, she was actually excited and awaiting the future she had with him.
