Samar and Karnika are sitting still on a bench. They both were quiet and...

Karnika ' I used to live with my family in Pune. We lived happily... I still remember... my mother... she cared for me and loved me so much. She never used to go and travel much because of her ill-health. But one day...

Karnika (crying) ' She died... and left me all alone in this world!

Samar hugs her and consoles her...

Samar ' What about other family members?

Karnika ' I have father and an elder brother. After mom's death, they became very protective towards me and they used to scold me if I got late or I spoke to a boy... They never wanted me to be with someone I love and betray them...

Samar ' Why will you betray them?

Karnika ' I won't, but they thought so... never knew why! (Starts crying ceaselessly)

Samar ' Where are they now?

Karnika ' They are in Pune. One day when they saw me singing in front of my friends in the college, my father slapped me and my brother beat me... So I decided to run away from them... Jiya helped me and I came to Mumbai.

Samar again hugs her.

Samar ' Don't worry... I am there with you always.

Karnika ' But if they find me with you, they will not leave us...

Samar (keeping his finger on her lips) ' Shh... Don't worry... No one can separate us.

Karnika (smiling) ' Thank you for being there with me...

Samar (smiling) ' Thank you too for trusting me...

Karnika keeps her head on his shoulder and he holds her hands with care.

Somebody clicks their photograph, hiding in bushes...

At Boys' Hostel at 7:30 pm:

Rajiv has gone to meet Arjun and Harsh while Samar is sleeping in his room. His mobile rings... It's a private no.

Samar (Accepts the call) ' Hello...

A voice, harsh and dominating, answers back.

The voice ' Samar, listen carefully! Stay away from Karnika!

Samar (surprised) ' What? Who is speaking?

The voice 'I am, of course not, your well-wisher! Stay away from her... Do as I say otherwise...

Samar ' Otherwise what?

The voice ' Otherwise be ready to die!

Samar (angry) ' Who is speaking? I love her... No one can separate us! Stay away from us otherwise you be ready to die!

The voice ' So you love her? Ha ha ha! I have seen many Romeos like you! You and Karnika can never be together!

Samar ' You just...

The call disconnects. Samar looks worried for Karnika. He calls her, but her no. is unreachable.

He tries many times and finally she picks up.

Samar (very worried) ' Hello Karnika?

Karnika ' Hello Samar...

Samar ' Your no. was unreachable, are you alright?

Karnika ' yes. But why are you so worried? Is everything ok?

Samar' Err... Yes, everything is fine. And, listen to me carefully; don't step out of your hostel today, ok?

Samar ' okay... Samar, tell me what happened?

Samar ' Nothing...

He changes the topic so that she could not think that he is hiding something. He doesn't want Karnika to know about the call as he doesn't want to disturb her unnecessarily. He disconnects the call.

9.00 pm, at a Mansion:

It's a big hall; a man is sitting on a chair.

He has an arrogant face and viciousness clearly visible in his red eyes. He looks at the photograph; his employee had clicked, of Samar and Karnika together.

The man to his employee ' Ok... His name is Samar Singh. What did he say?

His employee ' Sir... err... Aman sir had talked to him...

The man ' What? I had given this job to you and you...

A voice ' Dad calm down... I thought it would the best that I should call and warn him...

The man ' hmmm...So Aman, what did he say?

Aman ' He refused to do what I said.
