Chapter 9

The sky has darkened and it's drizzling and thundering...

Samar (pulling his bike) ' Oh God!

Karnika ' I don't see any taxi here...

Samar ' Don't worry... We will be in our hostels at time.

Karnika ' ok...

It starts raining heavily and they are still near hills and there is no one but noise of the thundering.

They move and take shelter under a shed. They are completely wet.

Samar ' Oh God! I doubt that we are going to be in the hostel at time...

Karnika ' yes, me too.

Samar (mischievously) ' You know? People say that whenever the clouds thunder, there is something going to happen in somebody's life... Something different, something that will change his life forever...

Karnika ' Don't try to scare me, okay?

Samar ' What Karnika! You don't even get scare!

Karnika laughs.

Karnika ' Why do you want me to be scared?

Samar ' So that, as it happens in the movies, heroine completely scared comes in the arms of the hero...

Karnika (smiles) ' You are really mad Samar...

Samar (smiles back) ' Yes you are right. I am mad for you...

They are lost in each other's eyes. But suddenly a group of some bad guys come there...

One man ' Okay... So here are those love birds!

Samar and Karnika give a puzzled look.

Other man ' We will not leave both of you alive!

He pushes Samar and beat him. Karnika gets injured too.

They are badly injured and are lying on the wet road... Karnika has injured her head and Samar's hands and head are bleeding...Then in front of Samar come the man and Aman.

Aman sits down on his knees and holds Samar's hair tightly and slaps him...

Aman ' What did you think? We would leave you alive huh?

The man comes near Karnika who is almost fainting...

The Man (in an evil manner) ' Hello Karnika! How are you?

Karnika looks at the man and is totally taken aback.

Karnika ' Father, you?

The man (Mr. Marathe) ' Yes my dear. Me!

Then laughs and says:

I was waiting for this moment till I married your mother! I wanted her property... But she... she gave you the property! If I didn't get it so I will occupy it from you!

Aman to Karnika' Hello sister... Don't cry, just sign on the property papers and we will leave you and your lover...

Karnika (crying) ' Really!

Samar ' No Karnika! It's your right... don't do what they say. They will surely kill us if you sign those papers...

Mr. Marathe goes near Samar and slaps him.

Mr. Marathe ' You are too cared about her huh?

Aman ' Dad, she is refusing.

Mr. Marathe ' No need to wait, son.

Mr. Marathe to his men ' Kill them.

Two of his men take out guns and fire at Samar and Karnika while they are trying to hold each other's hand.

The men fire all the bullets and they leave.

Samar and Karnika manage to hold their hands and...

Samar cries - I never knew that this is written in our fate but we will be together... soon...

Karnika (crying) ' We will be together...

They die but has their love too died with them?
