Complete agree with the two of you.

Agree with everyone abt Pandora's box...without reading the entire story which is one of the most beautiful pieces of literature, how can you label it as vulgar??

I being a parent would not depend on a forum or the Internet to protect my kid from reading anything age-inappropriate! It's my responsibility to supervise what she watches/reads online n I wouldn't depend on forum mods for that!!

If 9 year olds are being allowed to access IF then they r allowed YouTube too n if they can read here they can watch much more there.

Please do not make exceptionally talented writers to leave this forum by such actions...their stories are the best part of this forum n what we readers look forward to the most.

Hope to see some positive outcome!

its seriously not done.
i would request that when you see 'graphical content'(your words not mine)..please go through the entire ff..or at least give it a glance. then you would realise what im trying to say here.

case in point "the pandora's box"..was a heart meltingly beautiful piece of art..with a huge mature fan following(what are 12 year olds doing here..i ont even know).
we are all shocked and saddened by its pre mature ending.
please please please read the entire thing and then you will realise that the content wasnt explicit for the heck of it...it was needed..you would see the emotional depth that the story has...
please withdraw you censor here..coz it was really not needed...the author is mature enough to know what goes with the storyline and what doesnt..and trust me..so are her readers.

please please..consider my request!

Shaam has put in beautifully whatever i wanted to say... Pandora's box is a beautiful and intense story and every word every emotion every sentence was needed...No m not being partial and saying this because the story was the best or the writer is my friend, but because being a writer myself, i know how hard it is to update in a busy schedule only to have their FF banned for a reason like this... m mainly saying this because Pandora's box is a historical romance and our author knew what she was doing and the mature content was only there when it was absolutely needed. If the parents of the 9 year olds are irresponsible enough to let their children access the internet unsupervised, then why do we have to pay the price for it... why is one of the most beautiful ff brought to an abrupt end??

I'm pretty sure there is an age limit to joining I-F, although I guess there are many immature people who fake their age to make an ID. I've read more explicit content on I-F than Pandora's Box. I was shocked, surprised, and hurt when I learned that the MODs had asked Munchy to close down Pandora's Box. I didn't realize that such a wonderful story about Indo-Pak partition and a story revolving around it could be marked as explicit. If anyone would care to read the introduction at the top of Thread One of Pandora's Box, Munchy clearly stated that it does contain some controversial issues and that it might not be everyone's cup of tea. (Here's the link if anyone wants to read it for themselves : https://india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2649382&PID=51262568 )

I would strongly recommend the MODs to at least ask the author for a summary of their work, rather than taking someone's word for what may be only a portion of the entire work.

I haven't gone through the entire thread to read about what other writer's are suggesting should happen, but being an FF writer on IF myself, I think that writer's should be allowed to openly express their thoughts.

First of all, I don't they a lot of readers know what "graphic" is, because I remember reading somewhere, in the IPKKND forum, that the show had vulgarity. Somebody please explain to me what is vulgar about that show. I think a lot of the readers use such words without thinking/knowing the meaning of it.

I live outside of India, and I'm born and raised outside of India, and I don't know a single kid that is 9 years old and has access to the internet, most parents are usually careful not to let there 9 year olds on to the internet. BUT that being a different situation, if there are 9 year olds on IF, and can read whatever is written in the FFs, I'm pretty sure they can read those warning in bold red on top of majority of the writings that say there might be some mature content, and those who cannot handle it should not be reading.

These little kids are smart enough not to talk to strangers, they know they're not supposed to swear, they know they shouldn't be watching any "bad" shows/movies on tv, then why don't they choose for themselves to not read any such material instead of complaining that the Forum contains too much "graphic" material.

There are writers who like expressing love making scenes, especially Munchy's "Pandora's Box". That was a very well written FF, with nothing explicit about it, yes there were a few love making scenes, but she wrote it with such taste that I saw nothing po*nographic about it.

If IF is deciding to make new guidelines about what can be written and what cannot be, I hope they do so fast, so us writers know what they can write and what cannot.

This ban on such scenes is causing a lot of great writers to stop writing, and I think that is a huge tragedy. Just because some people cannot handle such things, I don't think others should be stopped from writing it. If there is a proper warning given at the beginning of a particular writing, I think it should be allowed to stay, but that is my opinion.

I'm scared to update my FF's now, because I don't know how far I am allowed to take things.

I am sorry if anything I said was out of line, but this was my opinion on the situation. I wouldn't have said anything, but "Pandora's Box" was my favourite writing piece on IF, but it was forced to be shut down, and that has hurt me a lot. If people had actually read the piece properly they'd realize that the bigger picture held a lot more meaning then the mere "sex" scenes.

Again, I am sorry if I had stepped out of line with my comment.

PS. I just wanted to add that movies/shows all have warnings at the beginning that say that VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED but still some people choose to watch it, and others do not, so if people don't complain about those warnings, then why are they complaining about material that has warnings at the beginning. They read it and then complain. WHY?

As a parent of a 6 year old, I can understand that the mods have concerns. But honestly, what in the world are 9 year old children doing on IF? That should be what is controlled and restricted. If these children have accounts on IF, then there should be some sort of restrictions on what they can view and what they cannot.

Just as each and every human being has and should have the freedom of speech, freedom of thought, we also have the freedom to write. Many of the writers that are on IF disregard their own precious time, put aside their duties towards their families, their studies, and try to create stories that are realistic and beautiful. Please allow the writers on IF their freedom without any restrictions.

First off, why are there 9 year olds in this forum?!?!?!?!?! And why would their parents let them come on here in the first place?!?!?!?!?! And to top it off - why would they be reading all the mature FFs in the first place?!?!?!

These kids should have better things to do rather than be on forums and giggle about Indian shows and couples. Heck they shouldn't even be reading FFs in the first place!! And it isn't my job to tell them that they should be focusing on getting good grades and watch cartoons - it's their parents' responsibilities. Why should we have to bear the consequences?? There are many children in my house and I don't expect them to be on IF and nor would I allow them to. So it is the parents that should know what their children are on and they should be dealing with all this. Not us.

Po*nographic content is one helluva different story. But expressing a couple's love through mere words that are written beautifully is something else. Isn't lovemaking a part of our normal life? And if it's written about, then it's offensive? Surely it's there because it's to keep consistency between two characters of the opposite gender. What is so vulgar about that?

If this is about the FF Pandora's Box - then I'm sure hundreds of people and I can tell you that it is NOT graphical or explicit. In fact it is a beautiful story written in a tasteful manner for MATURE READERS. If expressing love is a crime then I don't think we would have had any novels or anything to start off with.

What is happening here is that writers are being demotivated. What you aren't realising is that writing FFs and OSs could be a part of a person's lifestyle and what you guys are doing is trying to strip them off this right? Isn't there a freedom to write?

This forum is turning into a totalitarian forum. Mere children are ruining hundreds of peoples chance of enjoying FFs open heartedly. What on earth are they doing here in the first place?? Please ask this question to those children.

What I would like is a CLEAR guideline on what we CAN and CANNOT write. Therefore, writers and I alike will think twice about posting anything here in the near future.

I am in agreement to this as well...this is a BEAUTIFUL story that will remain unfinished because some people are too immature to understand its intricacies!!! Please withdraw your censor here...

Seriously!?! When did descriptive acts of love start being considered po*nographic!?! I don't see the problem with adults reading beautifully written stories that happen to have some descriptive details. If mods or any of the fools that are reporting beautiful works of fiction can't decipher between erotica and lovemaking, I will gladly send you tons of examples right off the web so you you'll know the difference. None of the stuff I have read here comes remotely close to being deemed po*nographic. So how about mods give it a break and stop needless censorship on peoples' creativity!?!
Also, if you are trying to cater to 9 year olds then you may as well turn this into a Disney type forum b/c most of the people here cannot abide by such 3rd grade nonsense. Actually, the way this forum is currently 'policed', Hannah Montana may be considered a bit too 'risque' here as well. May as well forget being 'moderators' and start calling yourself 'net-nannies' b/c that exactly where this is heading!!!
And there aren't ANY kids flagging things or reporting stories, it's prudish adults!!! The people that flag these wonderfully written stories clearly don't have the balls to admit the reasons why they are flagging things. For once I'd love to see people stop hiding behind the 'report' button and actually explain themselves. No guts, no glory!!!

I agree pandora's box should not be made to stop.there should be stopping illegal below age memberships
I think people should understand the difference between po*n and love
I would suggest instead of outright rejection and /or labelling mods should make an effort and suggest alternative ways to the writers ie. like sending pms of the explicit parts instead of writing it directly in the forum etc.
We would definitely like to see pandora's box back on the forum to finish the story
