Explicit content is NOT allowed on I-F - Page 10

this is stupid. one of my favourite FF'S has been stopped because of this. i am seriously pissed off. all that needs to be done is add little features called mature content, be warned, NC-17, R - rating, whatever to keep those people happy. if something disgusts you, DON'T READ IT. as for children, what are their parents doing, letting them roam free on the internet like this?
are some adults really THIS narrow minded that they can't stand what they call 'vulgarity' in a very beautifully written fan fiction?
i know that sexually explicit things are frowned upon my most. but there's a difference when someone writes it for po*n purposes while others integrate it beautifully into their work. just add something that requires a verification of age or something, or VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.
or someone open a website for hindi serial fanfiction. especially arnav-khushi ones.
cuz i sure cant stand this.

its not like the rules of IF is going to stop ppl from looking out for raunchy stuff elsewhere...
1...i think the entire issue cud be solved by asking the writers to put mature content warning...ppl who r interested wud read it..rest will not...

2. IF is not filled with despos that mods feel the need to moderate ...unless the content is having nothing in substance but only stuff that has vulgarity...this looks more like moral policing to me...let us decide what we want to write or read...there are lots of things thats needs immediate attention rather than this issue which to me is nothing but trivial. the story has such a wonderful potential to become a bestseller if published yet she is writing on IF, we need to appreciate that try to encourage talent rather than take such extreme steps

3. the writer in question is such a fabulous writer...i have never come across a writer who cud write so beautifully and keep my interest sustained...it saddens me to see such rules only discourage some gems from exhibiting their talent...

4..and am glad a lot of writers have showed their solidarity and are trying their best to make sure that the writer gets justice...that itself shows that she and her story is not only a hot favourite amongst readers but also some best writers...

hope we find a amicable solution to this issue..

This is not fair if they put a warning as to age restriction then that should show for the young ones not to read orif others are offended by mature content not to read... I think that is fair. If young kids are free to explore that Internet without adult supervision they are exposed to alot more on other sites then what they are reading here and if there is a warning they should not read any further... It's not fair that some of the greatest stories are being put on hold because these awesome writers don't how they can go on writing without being able to express the emotions and passions of the characters in there ff and it is not fair to us adults who enjoy reading these stories

i am so pissed off now bcz most of the ff writers are with holding their updates now bcz of this censorship fiasco...i would suggest that since majority is authority why not the mods conduct a poll regarding explicit content in ff to be allowed or not? if majority say yes then the minority should refrain from reading these ffs and let us read them...although i firmly believe that those who have a problem with these type of stories should not read them in the first place...its like going to a bookshop,u can't ask them not to keep adult reading material in their shop bcz u have a pbm with them but u simply don't buy it...i read all the new ffs and if i don't like some of them then i stop reading them rather than moaning abt it or asking the wroter to change her style just bcz i don't agree with them.

everyone has already said it all -and I still don't get why we have to self censor for children.Totally agree that parents should take responsibility for children

Decency and other such adjectives are again really broad terms- I found La's dresses quite decent but clearly they are considered indecent by many. I also found the explicit connections made between modern clothes and "sin" "disrespect" "stupidity" "meanness" offensive, irritating, indecent and disgusting - clearly millions did not ! I perservered because I genuinely love the lead characters who rise above such idiocy and stereotypical behaviour. What offends me is beautiful to another family and vice versa.

trying to write to the lowest common denominator (i.e. age over here or imagined sensibilities) can only stifle good writers. If written badly people will automatically stop reading. if po*no would sell, we would all be reading only that.. not read great stories.

I have not read much of other people's work except Nayika and I can say that she writes beautifully and it would be a pity for her and other writers to stop because of rules like this.

however, from the moderator it looks like they have v little choice in the censorship they have to do, and keeping it family friendly for the owners of the forum means they do have a tough job to do, interpret definitions for multitudes. This really does curtail a lot of good ideas to write good stories.

So I sincerely request the awesome writers in the forum to just create a separate blog post somewhere, with lots of warnings, that anyone can read and understand, perhaps even set up auto warnings wtih the browsers, with permissions granted to those who you are comfortable with. I don't want to be punished and deprived of excellent stories because someone is not looking after their kids somewhere or the stories don't cater to their notion of decency.

I was Going to leave IF when I came across Pandora's Box and after that I never thought about leaving because I found so many other beautiful FFs. Pandora's Box is such a beautiful story, please read the whole thing before calling it vulgar. I think that like readers have choice of what they want read or not, writers should also have this freedom of what they want to write or not. If someone doesn't like the FF they don't have to read it. Alot of other good writers are putting their FFs on hold because of this problem. I just don't understand that if we readers like the authors work then why are other people interfering. Please please please please... Don't do this to me... 😭

I'm going to have to agree with all the posts on here.

There have been comments saying that the show IPKKND itself is vulgar, while by many american standards thats pretty much nothing.

Pandora's Box is not a story that is vulgar by even the slightest means!

Futhermore these forums should be an area where we can all express our thoughts and share our stories.

I do understand that we are trying to keep things safe for all children that may be on the site, but this is just an injustice to the older and more mature readers on here as well.

Moreover, these stories should be a place where we can display creativity about any matter. I would hate to see writers have to find alternate sites like a Blogspot or something to post their stories, when IF was a collective place for everyone to see a variety of stories.

I don't want to see any writer start censoring or changing their writing styles in any way becuase of younger viewers. The site membership also has an age limit doesn't it? I love the stories I've read from writers like Nayika, and minimuffin even if they aren't all appropriate for children. It isn't our job to watch what children do, but their parents job. There are plenty of sites where children could be exposed to things a lot worse than those one will find on IF! This ridiculousness has caused the withholding of updates, and caused new writers to shy away from posting. If a story like Pandora's Box is vulgar, then what falls as clean under here? They are romantic stories. Things will happen.

Okay, I can no longer try to stay all civil about this. This has got me down right seriously pissed and I think its hella dumb. None of you writers stop writing! I LOVE YOU GUYSES STUFF!!! If anything at least start posting elsewhere on a dif site if you get shut down here? Ugh :/

Im sorry - 9 year olds!?!?!.. really - why would a 9 yr old be allowed to get on this site and read fan fics.. or be so involved in a Hindi serial to have a username/ log in on this site.. ridiculous,, I have a 9 year old child and I would never deem this appropriate for him.. He should be on a Disney/cartoon network site.. not India Forums..

I think you guys should PM this thread to Vijay or maybe bring this up in the Suggestions/Comments forum..🤔
