First things first, Why on earth are children as young as 9 allowed to access material on IF??
and even if they do, then what they surf on the web is the complete responsibility of their parents, as we cannot be expected to babysit these children and monitor what they read and what they do not!
It is utterly unfair for Mods to expect writers to stop writinf explicit scenes in their FF/SS's etc etc because smetimes these scenes are required in order to give the story a realistic feel, it is the writers way of expressing and their perspective on the direction of their story.
Im sure all the writers who pen down these scenes use them in order to portray an aspect of a couples relationship, a monumental requirement for the story, or whatever the reason may be...
Most of the stories Iv read on IF (and trust me iv read ALOT) do have these scenes explained in a tasteful manner, nothing that would offend anyone!!
Its not fair to ask a writer to limit their writing to a certain level if thats not how their creative processes flow...and even though it saddens me, I completely understand writers who have stopped updating stories due to this rule
What saddened and infuriated me MOST was that one of my favourite FF's, Pandora's Box was given a warning twice and the writer had to end it prematurely due to the threat of removal of her FF.
How is this fair to the writer and the rest of us who want to read the story but are unable to now that she has been FORCED to end it...why should 90% of the forum suffer due to a few kids who come here (when they should not be...at least not without parental consent anyway)
I wouldnt be surprised if all the writers decided to stop writing because of this ingenius rule...then we wuld end up with fairytales and children stories full of pretty princess and handsome princes who lived happily ever after!!
Seriously!!
This is an insult to all the writers who put in sooo much hard work, time, enewrgy and effort to give us such beautiful stories with brilliant and mature concepts, and also an insult to us readers, who MOSTLY consist of adults (at least 16 and over) who would like to read these stories but will be subjected to childish bed time stories from here on end...!!
I havent checked to see what other people have been commenting on this hread but all id like to say is that...this rule has dissappointed nearly all writers and most of the readers as MOST of the wonderful stories we have been readnig will no longer be updated as a result of this rule...
I have a niece whose 8 and she uses the internet quite extensively, however, her mum makes sure she does not go to any websites which she's not supposed to...so I cant even imagine she would have any business coming to a site such as IF...i don't understand what 9 yr old kids come here to do...and HOW ON EARTH do their parents allow this?????
Also, before writing a story of any sort, writers always put a warning at the top ("mature content, 18+, 16+, content warning etc etc etc), so in my opinion, that should be more than enough to ward off kids from that topic altogether!!
If they choose to proceed, then how is that any of our responsibility?? Isnt that proof enough that they have no problem reading such stuff
long post...im sorry but it all had to be said...

I totally agree with both of them.. Mods pls "The pandora's box" is a beautiful love story ...
I request u to plz go through the enitre content before opting to close it.. it takes a lot of hardwork from the writer to create such a beautiful creation.. and i must say that she has truly brought life to the fiction characters.. And i would say that she has not written anything very explicitly.
We would never want to end any deserving story in this particular way ..Its a sincere request plz dont close this FF ...Please.

Pandora's Box was a beautiful FF which has such depth and meaning to it...the characters were conceptually broought to life by MiniMuffin 86...and it is sooo unfair to her to have her story labelled as sexually graphic when that is not the case AT ALL!!!
Please please please MODS...don't be unjust to a majority of the forum while trying to be fair to the children (who shouldnt be here anyway)
Most of the writers and readers are sooo disheartened by this rule that they have sworn off FF's/SS's
Please dont ruin our IF experience by chasing away the most brilliant writers that we have seen on IF...

I dont have much to add, because everyone has pretty much said it all. I dont understand why 9 years old are surfing the forum in the first place, do they even understand the world of TV or Bollywood yet? However, I obviously cant control them but I do expect that it their parents responsbility to check upon thei kids. I dont write anything here, however Im a reader to lots of ArHi stories, and I genuinly believe that Pandora Box is one of the most beautiful tales Ive come across. You guys should probably read the entire story before just picking out certain parts, and naming them as "po*no" or whatever.
Im sure all these writers will be discouraged by this, and then, whats the point to the fanfiction forum here? There is abundant talent here, and I can even see some becoming professional writers. Maybe you guys should have some age scheme (though I still fail to see why their are 9 year olds around here...I dont think Ive come across any, but again I dont surf every part of IF...you guys would know better).
Id urge you guys to make some specific guidelines as to what they can write, but if not here...I'll always encourage ALL my writers to open their blogs and that way atleast they can have to freedom to write what they wish...and Im sure all the readers from here will definitely go through the blogs.
In all, I just feel you guys have put an end to such a wonderful tale, Pandora's box. And not only minimuffin86...but other writers have also decided to pause their work. Thats something that I wouldnt want because the fanfictions forum is truly great, but then this? Lets hope you guys can maybe talk to Vijay regarding this.
Thanks

This is a website. On the internet. The concept of censorship on a damn website is so ludicrous, I am amazed it has been allowed to get so far as to affect everyone who give you the eyeballs that makes this site profitable, and popular. Trust me, that will soon change when you implement completely arbitrary, hypocritical and bigoted policies which are not applied across the board (by the way), and which are too vague to be considered sensible.

Its one thing to require a mature advisory prior to posting, which i completely agree with. It is another to try and stifle writer after writer, fan fiction after fan fiction in a moronic attempt to prevent people from reading about the birds and the bees, and to have guidelines like "tasteful" and not "po*nographic".

By the way, what is a "family friendly" forum? Where are the parents on this supposedly family site, that they are allowing their children uninterrupted access online? Who are these winners of "Parent of the Year" who apparently expect anonymous mods and posters on a website on SERIALS to babysit their precious kids from the big bad world? Seriously? If there is one parent who's kid has been scarred for life from Pandora's Box or any other beatiiful story I'd like to hear about it. First, I'd like to know, where the hell was that parent while their kid followed a story for twelve weeks that they now deem unsuitable. Then I'd like to hear about the sob story crap about kids and mature content.

What I dont think the mods realize is that we will not stay quiet until this blows over, this already happened before with Janet Das, and is apparently happening again with a new batch of talented writers. Whats the problem, mods? Dont like the fact that these selfless creative people work day and night to post their writings so we stick arouns so you people have a "mod" position to brag about in the first place? Because hell, we'll leave. We'll take the "hits" to other sites, these writers will open writers blogs that will take away my need to visit this site. You dont get to decide whats appropriate for ME to read, and you dont get to decide whats appropriate for THEM to write. Good luck to this site, for its going to need it.

🤔 was it not sufficient that beautiful FF that started at IPK forum were put on hold and ended some months ago which made both readers like me and writers like romanticchick and janet.Das ... left frustrated

now its here too.
1. i also want to know what 9 years are doing at IF when they should be doing much better things in sync with their age
2. who reported 🤔 was it really the people who are 9 to 13 age old who feel they may read something that they are not supposed to read or the adults who are jealous that they cant write nor they can read for whatever reason best known to them

I am very disappointed and sad that muncy (minmuffin86) pandora's box has ended. and similarly many more FF will be put on hold now 😭

and i am saying this because i am also mother to a girl and i fully understand the responsibility that rests with a parent and also the outside world .
i cant blame the world that things are available at the click of button 🤔 its my responsibility that my daughter is occupied with the things thats should be done by her age.

There is something horribly wrong here. Although I understand the rules and guidelines of the site but I have a huge problem with the FF writers being asked to become the police for the children who are on this site unsupervised.

As a parent of a 8 and 12 year old I feel watching these soaps and coming here to discuss them and reading FF based on these shows is completely inappropriate. It is my responsibility as a parent to ensure that the content my children are exposed to...whether that is TV, movies, video games or internet. Being a participant of IF and reader and possible writer of FFs on this site does not automatically make me responsible for the other participants.

Yes some writers do cross the line but this is a public site and there are a lot of different perspectives and point of views there. All of which should be allowed to co-exist.

I come here to escape the realities of life not mind other people's children and not to become the moral police of a public site. There are a lot of different types of FFs here, some excellent but there are some which, to be completely honest, are horribly written. The grammar and spelling are atrocious. As a parent that is more dangerous for a 9 year old who shouldn't be here in the first place!!!!

Hello!

I understand such rules, but most of the shows being discussed here are not for 9 year olds...It s parent's duty 2 keep a check on their children regarding both watching a show or browsing a site not meant for them!
If everything written on IF should match a 9 year old, sorry 2 say even the romantic soaps cannot be discussed...
And v shud not forget, a child having access 2 IF without any control s free 2 access several other dubious sites , so controlling writers cos children visit IF s slightly bothering

Having said dat,I do accept dat everything shud b within limit!

And few of my favourite FF writers hav paused their work bcos of this...It s a huge loss for us...
I request the mods to reconsider the rules
Sorry din't mean to offend anyone...wanted 2 share my POV

Pandora's Box was one of the most beautiful peice of writing that I've come across on IF or anywhere for that matter. It was a classic...and minimuffin86 had brought out the era so beautifully and poignantly. There was nothing remotely distasteful about what was written or the way it was written.
Please MODS, you need to be a little more discerning. There is a reason the writers put in disclaimers.
Please don't be unfair and deprive us readers of the amazing writing of these talented writers. Really, some of the writings are so exceptional, they would be on par with some published novels.
