Very Legit point what 9 year old complains about reading something their not supposed to? Just out of curiosity could we see the complaint filed? Not the name of the person of course, we're just curious as to what the complaint actually said.

Its absolutely ridiculous that a forum that has the majority of adults can't write about sex without it being deemed explicit and po*nagraphic! I'm sorry if there are nine year olds on this forum then the reponsibilty of the child lies with its parents! Shouldn't the childs parents monitor what a nine year old is looking at on the internet? I agree with the comment made by headoverheels that there are some adults on this forum who don't like adult content, and if that's the case then don't read it! Why stop everyone else who appreciates the writer for writing such beautiful updates.

Minimuffin86 has got a husband, baby and family to juggle but she still took time out for us and gave us some of the most beautiful, passionate updates! Sometimes she updated 3 times a day and for the mods to force her to close her FF Pandoras Box by calling it po*nagraphic is an insult to munchys writing!

I'm sorry but a solution needs to be found or eventually there will be nobody willing to write anything on IF incase the mods find it to explicit. What happened to freedom of speech!

There definitely does need to be a change and I hope the MODs are reading this.

As some people above suggested, possibly different age restricted sections. That way the forum is still family friendly and the responsibility is on the reader if they choose to enter such a section so then they can't complain either if something is too mature for them since they willingly and knowingly chose to read it.

Hi everyone,

It saddens me to have to write this message, but I am incredibly frustrated with what I am seeing in this section day after day. I don't know how to say it any more clearly than I have for the past several years, but I will try again. Graphic/explicit/adult content is against the code of conduct and is NOT allowed ANYWHERE on India-Forums. If we see any such content in the FF section, and the writer does not comply with our request for them to remove it immediately,we will close the FF and raise the warning level of the writer. This has to end now.
I would like to thank everyone who has taken the effort to report such FFs. Your help is really appreciated. However, there are many more readers who "like" such chapters, comment positively on them and encourage the writer to continue with this content. If you are one of these readers, please stop and think to yourself: Is is necessary for stories to be explicit and po*nographic in order for them to be entertaining? Do you think the young children that are on I-F (some of them as young as 9 from what I have heard) should be exposed to such things? Do we want I-F to no longer be the family friendly forum that we all know and love?
Again, I would like to emphasize that we do not expect all our writers to write at the level of children. Mature concepts and themes are perfectly okay, but they do not need to be accompanied by graphic description. They can be written is a much more tasteful manner.
Thank you for your attention.
FF Development Team

Dear IF Development Team,

I haven't read any of the replies to this request, so pardon me if I am being repetitive.

As far as your request goes, do you think it is going to work? Like really? And before you answer that question, tell us honestly, have you not enjoyed such posts?

When a story is planned, inclusion of intimacies is natural. An author cannot skip it if the story calls for it. A lot of times, even in movies, such scenes often bring a new dimension to the story. And an author has all rights to describe it the way they have envisioned. The author is merely posting it keeping mature audience in mind. It is not for them to worry about young children reading such stuff. If that was the case, no book would be published, no movie would be released and half the theaters would not be running.

Let's face it. SEX sells! And if you don't believe that, we can pull some stats.

IF is meant to be a creative center, where talent should be recognized and appreciated. Why is it acting like a baby-sitter? Why are 9 year olds even being allowed on IF? Do you have any control on that? If not, then why are you trying to control the stories? IF is meant to be an open forum, let it remain open. Don't try to control it because you have no control over who joins the website.

Go on youtube, there are tons of adult videos there. Can they really prevent kids from seeing those videos? Anyone can come up with a false account and age and get access those videos. There is only so much you can do, you know!

Also if I may add, if we write keeping 9 year olds in mind, then we are probably writing about brother-sister relationships, right? Perhaps elaborating on raksha bandhan? or other festivals? Or maybe how to ride a bicycle and how to treat other people and be nice to your parents?

Clearly, sex, relationships, complexities in relationships are not encouraged for 9 year olds. So what's left?

I dont know what to say because all of you have pretty much said what I was thinking.

I feel really offended that anyone could call something as beautiful and heartfelt as Pandoras Box's "Vulgar" I honestly can tell you that Pandoras box has touched my heart. There have been chapters in there that have honestly brought me to tears and I am utterly insulted not only on my behalf as a reader but on Minimuffins behalf as writer because I honestly can not determine how anyone could just dismiss it like it was nothing. I am outraged because Minimuffin has put her heart and soul into that story and its like someone just comes along and sees one little chapter and decides to ban it on the basis of it being too "vulgar" The chapters that were "explicit" were a fact of life. They were a part of their love. Intimacy is as much part of a love story as the romance and emotions.
Not only was I angered by that but the fact that IF is trying to keep this forum "child friendly" Why would children even be on here in the first place? Its like IFs trying to favour children whilst us adults just get the crumbs. ALOT of writers have left because IF isnt allowing them to publish their stories the way they want to.
I dont understand what kids are doing on this forum to be honest because I'm pretty sure if their not old enough to understand or read "mature" material then their not old enough to understand a passionate love story like IPKKND.
At this rate we will be losing most of our writers and will be left with nothing. If IF arent willing to change their rules or make a seperate catagory for "Mature" content then maybe its best if everyone places their fanfiction elsewhere. I hope it doesnt come to this but if writers cant write the way they want to then maybe we should just find a place where they can.
If the Moderaters cant do anything to change this then maybe we should take this to the big man himself.

It's been scrapped in favor of "8-80" year olds, I'm sorry I've been reading a few other Inappropriate content threads and some of the stuff posted is just ridiculous, 'No Nudity' - are you serious?

You can watch the serial where Arnav tears the pearl string off her blouse, where Shyam gives her dirty looks all throughout all the episodes- where in the very first episodes there is a very realistic 'eve-teasing' scene with Khushi and her mom and you want no nudity?

Also I hate to have to say this, but the more i read through the posts the ruder specific Mod posts are beginning to sound - one going as far as to say some writer's get 'unnecessarily offended' -

Hello, this is their work your talking about, a little consideration please, and FYI if it's not a 500- 1000 word smutfest it's probably not something that garners unnecessary offense.

Also - i'd love to see your 8/80 year old's write stories that keep your readers coming back. Good Luck.

😡This is ridiculous!!!

Its is upto a parent to look after their children and make sure they stay in their limit!!!

I can't believe this...So many writers are just going to stop writing...do you realise?

I have no words...Im so shocked but I completely agree with Nayika's post!!!

What are the stories on IF going to be about..."Once upon a time lived Arnav and Khushi. Arnav and Khushi were best friends and used to go to the same school. They fell in love and got married and lived happily ever after. THE END"

Is this what you want??

This is not too explicit is it, or are they not even allowed to fall in love and get married??

Ridiculous!! So so so so so stupid!!!! 😡

In fact, I am tempted to say that most of us probably don't have a perfect definition of graphic content, but we know what it is when we see it. That being said, the development team is working to try to create some guidelines that will help writers make sure their material is acceptable.

If you really pay attention to which specific FF passages we have had objections to and compare it to how many FFs there are in the forum, you will realize that we try to be as understanding as possible to make sure writers have some freedoms. Descriptions of physical proximity such as hugging and kissing have never been objected to, and neither have any simple mentions of sex. However, when we come across graphic and detailed descriptions of the act, we have to take action.
As you all are aware by now, the rule against explicit content is not something that we as the FF Development Team have come up with. It was decided by Vijay years ago and applies to the entire forum. You may not like the idea of censorship (I am also against it in most cases), but it is important to realize that this forum belongs to the owners. When you make an account here, you are agreeing to follow the rules or face the consequences. If Vijay wants this to be a family friendly site, that's what it will be. If you are looking for something else, there are many other places you can go. If you want the rules at I-F to change, well...you'll have to take that up with Vijay.
We as the FF Development Team are responsible for upholding the rules of the forum, and we are doing our best. We are open to further discussion about how explicit content should be handled, but we cannot make the decision to allow it. I hope you all can understand this.

I understand that its out of your hands and that your just doing your job so maybe its best if we all contacted Vijay seeing as hes the one whose word is official. How do you contact Vijay?

I understand the rules of the site have been decided by the makers and I can't change them but I'd still like to make my point known.

It is not my job as a member of this site or as a writer to parent or protect other people's children. If a parent allows their 9 year old child to watch mature content (as 90% of the shows discussed on this site are) and allows them to visit a forum to discuss such content then the responsibility lies with them to monitor and protect their children from 'corruption' or 'exposure' to adult material.

The reason there are a lot more likes and comments for such chapters rather than reports is because the average age of the site is much higher than a solitary 9 year old and by asking people to take into account one or two pre-pubescent children and ignore the larger majority of adults is attempting to cater to the lowest minority and stifing writer's creativity.

The reader is fully in control of what they read. They can choose to exit or press the back button and are not being forced the read the FFs. If they really do want to read such material and have the freedom from their parents to use the internet they will readily find such material whether it's on IF or not.

To be honest it does seem to me as if you're suggesting we write at the level of 9 year olds. It seems to me (from the FFs and writers you have flagged) that all sex scenes=po*nographic in the mind of the development teams.

Books and movies which contain scenes of sexual nature are not automatically categorised as po*n. They are labelled as having mature content and reader/viewer discretion is advised.

As many of the FFs involve characters who have not yet gotten together on their respective shows, the FFs have the characters married or in relationships because the readers and viewers are anxious to see such scenes. Adults in relationships do participate in romantic and sexual activities and therefore FFs will reflect that.

Therefore I would like clearer guidelines on what we can and cannot write. I would like to know what exactly you deem 'tasteful' and what exactly is 'po*nographic'.

Can we or can we not mention the characters have sex? What words can and can't we use? What actions can and can't we describe? Is kissing allowed? Hugging even? Or are they just supposed to hold hands and sit on separate beds watching Tom and Jerry? Or is hand holding too explicit as well? (Please excuse the sarcasm but this just screams censorship and that is very frustrating to me.)

I hope you will respond to my questions and provide clearer guidelines for us to follow.

COMPLETELY AGREE with all your points...i've got 2 daughters aged 10 and 9 and they r not allowed to be a member of any forums bcz they r too young and its my duty as a parent to supervise them and keepa strict check on what sites they r visiting and what r they reading but on ther other hand i as an adult really like reading all the ff with adult content in it. When a writer labels the ff or ss or even an os as 18+ then the mother shouldn't let her daughter/son read it anyway. Nayika and all the other writers should start their own blogs and just tell us your id and we will read your stuff over there but plz don't stop writing...nayika i really wanna read 30 days till the end so plz don't stop writing.
